+x+x13,310. And that's all I'll say about that. In torrential rain conditions. At least all our members turn up. You have 27k "members" and afainst ur biggest historical rival in arguably the best football stadium in the country only managed 19k last weekend on a fine evening. Jog on. Victory are certainly not making any real advancements with thwir crowds. Going backwards if anything. Nice try, I was there. Rain wasn't that bad. Huge game against the biggest club to clinch the plate, a bit of rain is no excuse. Comparing a top of the table decider to a run out against the wooden spooners (which still got a 50% bigger crowd) barely requires a retort.

SFC must have the most lightweight fanbase of any 'big club' on the planet.

It's not even a debate, that was a poor crowd as is the non-derby average, as is the full season average. Let's stop making excuses for three clubs - SFC, WSW and Roar should all be averaging 18-22k in an average season and 25k+ in a good season. All three must do better, even when it rains.

Very real risk that by season's end we will have a lower average than last year. Amazing considering those numbers include 2 derbies at the olympic stadium, so across the board crowds are down. Tim Cahill hur hur

Question why are 10k of Victorys members deciding not to show when they already have a "free" entry? Its melbourne people always telling us how Adelaide is their biggest rival. I guess its only a rival when its 1st vs 2nd tho hey. Our crowd wasnt great, but dont try and stand all smug when u know totally well how shit a crowd was last week.

Just goes to show how full of shit Victory fans are in regards to United being their biggest rival. In all honesty though our crowds have been pretty disappointing. I'm sure they'll improve in the run home though. The weather has been awful all week and its reflected in the NRL crowds. Bulldogs got 8k, St George 7k. Even the South Sydney/Tigers game only got 17k (would usually get 30k+).

+x8,965 at spotless. I blame the ffa personally!! Is that their lowest ever? Wondering what the excuses are this time. Let me guess because they arent coming first they can get away with all criticism?? Come on enough is enough, wsw and their crowds are shocking tbis year. Ours arent great either but seriously if u figured out the median of all games played, we'd rank higher.

But which one would u truly think is in the healthier state? A one off followed by sunday park support for the remaining 6 months or constant support 10 fold week in week out for 6 months?

We know that victory normally gets more people to games. Thats not insightful, the point is looking at where u are at and comparing with how u have perfomed in the past. Our averages year on year have been steadily climbing (overall) whereas Victory it seems as though they have really started to hit a peak. Where do u go from here when ur coming second still with a chance to winning it and ur playing ur biggest rival and only manage 10k less than ur membership? Isnt that a concern for u? Or u just interested at looking at other supporter bases?

Where do u go from here when ur coming second still with a chance to winning it and ur playing ur biggest rival and only manage 10k less than ur membership? Isnt that a concern for u? Or u just interested at looking at other supporter bases? I'm very interested in looking at other supporter bases as I'm invested in the health of Australian football as a whole. I think you're coming off very defensive from the 13k turnout, and went out of your way to reference a Victory crowd that while below Original Derby average (understandably due to Adelaide's position) was still 50% bigger than the figure from Sydney's undoubtedly most important home fixture in terms of the Plate that you were defending; an argument that I believe is very hard to reconcile. I should think that there's a more general culture of taking out memberships to support one's team in Victoria. I think more should be done in the area of seat returns given that we almost sell out AAMI Park alone on memberships, which it's fair to say may put off walkups. I think your suggestion that Victory's crowds have peaked and that Sydney's or other teams crowds will overtake them is not indicative of long term trends. I'm quite confident that Victory will have the largest crowds aside from irregular outliers for the medium to long term foreseeable future. Happy to answer any further questions.
