I'd rather play Sunday evening than Saturday arvo, and come on it's hardly an arctic breeze one light jumper and jeans and you're well warm. I'm not even saying it's that bad a crowd, but then neither are most of ours and Wanderers are the first to jump all over it if it's anything under 17k

This.

Were also top the league for most of last season.

Fact is, despite Wanderers' higher membership numbers, both Sydney clubs are about neck and neck.

Seems there are a lot of Wanderers 'fans' that only turn up to games like the one at ANZ, probably bought a shirt in the inaugural season and have probably only been to 3 or 4 games since.

Sunday evening, cold weather in Sydney, playing Newy. 13k is fantastic I reckon.

Lol wanderers fans tried to give us so much shit for only getting 15.5k against Mariners last week (even though it looked much more like 17k but that's another story).
The team to have made 3 GFs in the last 4 seasons only with 13.2k = tragic!

haha its pathetic with all the success and close-distance population they have that they can give us shit for getting decent crowds at allianz. Will get even worse for wanderers as the season goes on id imagine

So after three rounds, the only teams to give a higher attendance than Brisbanes first game was the two derbies.

To be fair, its Brisbanes biggest game of the season also.

It is disappointing that WSW got less than their membership tally on their first nonderby home match. Even more so that their new home ground has a larger capacity and they were screaming for a bigger stadium due to demand. Hopefully next home game they get more than 20k to justify expanding parra and for the sake of the A-League

There is no reason SFC cannot play at least five of their games a season at either Kogarah, Belmore or Liechardt. Belmore has the best Public transport link, Kogarah feels like a better home base and technically i thick Liechardt is central to Eastern Sydney.

Victory share their games between two stadiums, and if we want to really become the biggest club in the country, we need to have a similar approcah in my opinion.

My understanding is that virtually from day one SFC had a deal with SFS to play all home games there unless the SFS was unavailable for some reason. It looks like the parties to that agreement cannot see any reason to terminate it.

NEXT WEEK - looking a lot more promising

City/Reds - 13,000 (weather looks good)
Jets/Sydney - 12,000 (Jets going well and FC fans must travel surely)
WSW/CCM - 16,000 (prime slot so will be a lot bigger than Sunday night)
Roar/PG - 14,000 (standard Roar Sunday crowd coming up)
Vic/Nix - 24,000 (always draw well on cup eve)

TOTAL - 79,000.

Would be lovely to crack 80,000, hopefully Jets, City and Roar can draw a bit more than predicted.

belmore, liechardt and campbelltown all deserve packed crowds, their tv look does no justice to the game experience at the grounds when they rafters are full

What they should do is bite the bullet and play at Hutt Recreational park. If it fits 9k with temporary seating, it cant cost that much to make it permanent. If they signe a deal to play 7-9 games a year there (no night games. They barely play any anyway) for 3 years they will (owners) probably do it for free.

We (a-league fans) are to precious about our stadium criteria. We are like a high maintenance girlfriend. It has to be this and that and blah blah blah......

Thise who complain about Ballymore, Hutt, Belmore, Kogarah, South Melbourne Stadium. Seriously, go to clubs like Everton, Milan and Chelsea. There holes. The only difference is that they are packed full of fans and have atmospheres out of this world.

If all clubs just played in suitable stadiums (hello SFC) it would be a much more atractive game day atmosphere.

Yup. Splashing out $150m or whatever is going to help them survive

Wonder how much it costs the league to ship a team across the ditch to receive little in return from gate sales, memberships and tv money.

bbbut herp derp Auckland, Welly 2, Singapore and Tahiti 4 da er league.

I'm convinced for Wellington to survive they need to build a 10-15k stadium.

At the moment they have a 4 year extension with additional extensions under condition. They can be dropped in 4 years, 7 or 10. Not much incentive to build.

Victory twitter said we took 700 away to Adelaide, but it looks like a lot of Victory fans bought tickets from other areas once the away area sold out and just came in anyway.

Either way, great, great showing.

Adelaide had the same crowd last week against WSW.

Keep on filling it like the past two weeks and Adelaide United have a massive case to fill in the ends, upgrade the facilities and turn it into Australia's best 25k boutique venue.

It doesn't get much fuller than that. After the refurb to put in the red seats (they're more modern so slightly wider) capacity was reduced from 16,500 to about 15,800.
Services in the stadium were at breaking point last night. Mega queues for beer/food and would you believe queues for the Men's Dunnies!!

Was tempted to sneak into the womans for a quick piss ;)
For games like that the stadiums limitations come to light

Melbourne numbers?

For the away support? You had the bottom two bays packed and the two above a bit more sparse
