I officially use the roundabout at the corner of Morisset golf club as my start/stop point.
Also NNSW's most southern club is Morisset. Anything south of that is Central Coast Football.
There's still debate on where the line is and where the grey areas are, but we have some pretty conclusive indicators to tell us the divide. Always used Doyalson Link Road as my cut off between Central Coast and Lake Mac. myself. Gwandalan is the northernmost club in the CCF comps and that is pretty much because it's in the middle of nowhere between the two regions. Probably drawing a line through Mannering Park, Catherine Hill Bay and Gwandalan would be fair Edited by redshirtwilly: 19/7/2016 07:54:44 PM

Lane Cove Rd? Pennant Hills Rd? Old Windsor Rd? Nah, once you go north of Parramatta for me.. Theoretically, you could use the Northern train line. So West Ryde is probably the marker there. Although I dont see West Ryde as West. Once you hit Ermington is probably fair. Lane Cove Rd ?? not a chance. You could near on cut a straight line from the middle of Carlingford Rd North/South. Use Melrose Park as in Wharf Rd from Parra River just as Heiny suggests next to West Ryde - then straight up to West Penno Hills New Line Rd - anything WEST of that line is WEST.

These are the official boundaries of the Sydney Metropolitan Area. According to this, Springwood in the lower reaches of the Mountains is now considered Sydney, but it doesn't stretch far past Liverpool. For some reason, Kemps Creek and out to Luddenham & Mulgoa and anywhere around that isn't being counted. I know there's not a lot out there except for small farms and Batfink but obviously it's not 'metropolitan' enough. Once they stick the airport there, that'll change. Fuck those borders :lol as if Leppington and Kemps Creek aren't part of Sydney Metro. I've always just used the Nepean River as a rough western border from Emu Plains and Penrith down to Camden way.

Surfed there as a kid, near the pier. I despise the east side of the lake. I'm a west side of the lake kinda guy. But yeah Catho is the last place I'd say you're 100% in Newy still. Anything south of that is extremely grey area.

It gets a bit more complex north of parra river, there's a line through Oatlands, Winston Hills, Seven Hills from the SE to the NW with a culture difference on either side. Baulkam Hills is border territory. Edited by Aljay: 18/7/2016 10:31:33 PM

The line between Ashfield and Strathfield is half-half imo. Otherwise, the line is pretty clear.

It's a debate that's raged on since Captain Cook landed on our shores and set up camp and we named the damned city Sydney. Where does the West begin? Where is that magical invisible border that separates the heathens from the intellectuals? Could this map provide the answer? I know Erebus (?) on here created a very similar map a while back. I've always thought the Western Suburbs started around Bankstown. I can accept Greenacre, as per this map. Quote:Where Western Sydney actaully starts is one of the oldest debate's in the city. So one bloke has got the data and he reckons he's nailed it. Blogger Colin Ross created a map where users could draw in their own version of where Western Sydney starts. He then grouped them all together and created a map that is the definitive version of who is a Westie. Suburbs Listed In This Version of Western Sydney Include: Greystanes Huntingwood Blacktown Cecil Park Merrylands Guildford North St Marys Cambridge Park Cabramatta Mount Druitt Hoxton Fairfield Yennora Erskine Park and more. See the map below. Where is Western Sydney Photo: Colin Ross http://www.triplem.com.au/sydney/stuff/pub-talk/2016/7/where-is-western-sydney/It seems the general consensus is that that Western Sydney starts from around Greenacre.
