It's a debate that's raged on since Captain Cook landed on our shores and set up camp and we named the damned city Sydney. Where does the West begin? Where is that magical invisible border that separates the heathens from the intellectuals? Could this map provide the answer? I know Erebus (?) on here created a very similar map a while back. I've always thought the Western Suburbs started around Bankstown. I can accept Greenacre, as per this map. Quote:Where Western Sydney actaully starts is one of the oldest debate's in the city. So one bloke has got the data and he reckons he's nailed it. Blogger Colin Ross created a map where users could draw in their own version of where Western Sydney starts. He then grouped them all together and created a map that is the definitive version of who is a Westie. Suburbs Listed In This Version of Western Sydney Include: Greystanes Huntingwood Blacktown Cecil Park Merrylands Guildford North St Marys Cambridge Park Cabramatta Mount Druitt Hoxton Fairfield Yennora Erskine Park and more. See the map below. Where is Western Sydney Photo: Colin Ross http://www.triplem.com.au/sydney/stuff/pub-talk/2016/7/where-is-western-sydney/It seems the general consensus is that that Western Sydney starts from around Greenacre.
