+x+xWhat's sad . Is some mv fans were against the academy. Half of those who opposed it are the same ones who didn't say anything about the new apartments being built on the river
And ones saying MV should’ve consulted with the community better or that they shouldn’t be given land. Ffs the government literally built stadiums for the afl. Feel sorry for Football in Australia, trying to go forward with one leg tied to the other one.

I can see Victory taking over City's base in Bundoora now that they are moving to Casey Fields. It might be the only way we'll get our academy up and running. Which is a bit depressing

if Ufuk brings Sail, Devlin and either Ball or Hemed, that would be something else.

The quickest managerial decision the board has made. Experienced, successful, stable. I'm ok with this decision. Will be interesting who he gets rid of and who he brings in.

As a neutral, this looks like a good fit for the club. He's man who knows how to build a squad from scratch, and he is sure going to need to do that.
A strong Victory is important for the A League, and I have no doubt Popa will deliver that.

Strength Coach - Scott Smith went with him to Xanthi still there, was with him at Wanderers and Perth as well. Analyst - Michael Mantikos - At Xanthi, with Poppa at glory. Goalkeeper Coach - Kalac

+x+x+xPlay the kids for rest of the year His kids or the Victory kids? Everyone knows the answer to that one..... Well, Kristian is A League level already, would fit better than who Victory have now at DM, surely no argument there I believe.. Gabby coming through in the striker position still as a back up at this stage, very young. What striker coming through would Gabby be holding back? Not one out & out striker has come through.

The general public only hears about a small percentage of what is discussed behind closed doors. They may have received a bunch of offers but turned them down as they wanted to stick with their dad.

They were (or still are) trialling at a Croatian club IIRC. I'm trying to find a source for this now. Also I agree that Kristian is a good young player and would be in and around the first team squad at nearly every A-League club. Gabriel probably needs some more time to develop before being ready though.

Popa allegedly offering a two year deal to former Dinamo Zagreb and Udinese keeper Ivan Kelava. Had a few call ups for the Croatia national team but never got on the field. https://twitter.com/DailyOzFootball/status/1393106956357750785?s=19

I don't really like A-League clubs signing foreign keepers. Using up a visa spot for a keeper is a bit of a waste. Unlike strikers, Australian goal keepers are typically of a very good standard. Just look at the NT, we always have solid options for keepers.

As for a foreign keeper, we've seen keeper like Kurto and Lopar recently but this guy doesn't seem so great, hasn't played consistently in a number of years and i don't know if he was at Xanthi from the start of the season but why waste this spot on someone who can't displace Izzo?
