In terms of future squad development it won't surprise me given we have seen the likes of Arzani, Ikon selected from before that he gets a surprise inclusion to see how he goes in the senior set up.

It really depends on how he develops and whether he can make the jump into a first team environment, maybe a loan move would not be a bad idea if he cant break through at Brentford to help he's cause.

He was actually on the bench for two games and then didn't play against Barnet which should have been  before he jetted off.

Peupion has come on off the bench the last few games for Brighton's u23s & haven't seen Francois for a while either. Real shame about Tyrese -  thought it may have been a breakout year for him when he started in the first game of the season for Fulham, but hasn't played since for the top team.

According to the Joey lynch Jamie Maclaren article the squad for the November games is set to be announced today with six city players on the shortlist. Good, Maclaren, Leckie, nabbout, atkinson and metcalfe

I get the feeling that the players will be notified today, but we might not get an announcement for a few days. 

Just seen that the Ross county hibs game was postponed for a second time because of a covid outbreak at Hibernian. 

That's really bad if true. So far Taggart and potentially Rogic, Boyle. Holland unavailable. 

That would be disastrous - Boyle is a bigger loss to us than Rogic and Taggart.

It's a reality almost now with Taggart definitely out and Rogic confirmed to miss weekend game but still may make Australian squad. Holland also injured and probably out. Add Hrustic scare and the Boyle Covid situation.

As much as it seems to be pressure on the squad, how fit and ready are the A League players? Maclaren and Leckie will definitely join at this rate. Jeggo and Dougall are ready to come in especially the former. Irvine will definitely be needed and I hope Arnie gets his role right.

No issues at the back end of the park. Midfield reserves can fill the void and Genreau and possibly even Metcalfe could feature from the bench.

Further up it's a bit more tricky but the return of Leckie, Maclaren and the promotion of McGree and maybe even Ruka makes the squad seem fairly normal.

Its amazing that there have been no draws in our group to date. That is the unpredictable problem with the second half of the games, especially as there have not been a lot of goals in the games so far. The pressure will mount on Japan, and I suspect they will have a few draws in them.

You would think Vietnam at home could at least pinch a draw or two, or even a win. Japan and Saudi still need to play them there, so will be interesting.

Us beating the Saudis and China plus a handful of draws elsewhere would just about see us home.
