+x+x11 000 that is terrible, we need to get back to the Gippsland Falcons zenith. Why would a team based in Parramatta play in Gippsland. Silly billy, and you are calling me a retard. Why is 11000 bad in the a-league...or 6 000....but 2 000 good in the "alternative league"? I am all for expansion and second divisions but if you guys think it is going to have some miraculous effect on attendances and ratings, then you are off with the fairies. .....sooo you just sound whingy and bitter as well as deluded.

Roars crowds are affected by several things, in addition to the general downward trend midweek games have always been a killer - the ffa won’t move the kick off from 6.50 local because the southern states experimenting in time travel would be confused if the sokha didn’t start at its usual 7.50 their time .... but if you’re in the city you can’t go home and get back for kick off, if you’re on either coast you won’t bither
The year we had Theijsen we had similar midweek crowds and were pulling 6k to mariners and 7k to wanderers. That’s 4 seasons ago so don’t panic folks.

+x+xStraddle yourself in buddy. Gonna be a lot more if the downward spiral continues. that'd be a neat trick There'd be a -1 on most United crowd figures if I could. Wait, what?

Wasn’t Brisbane’s 3rd home game in a row? Still shitty crowd in a 50k stadium.

Good turnout, not trying to have a dig but it seemed very quiet on tv for a big crowd, is there still active support for Jets? Not sure but I think I can remember something a while back about the squadron ceasing involvement due to many issues they had?

Newcastle crowds can get a real run on when they're in form. If they string some wins then they have some exciting fixtures against Victory and Sydney FC coming up.

Pretty good stuff considering they had a home fixture 3 days ago. Always got respect for the fans in the Hunter, they’ve been very loyal to a poor side for a decade pretty much.

+x@ Buggalugs. Agreed. And sadly the ffa will look at figures like that and say “look, we’re not doing so bad”. Hopefully more and more people will boycott

+xOn James McGrath’s twitter feed:“So according to these stats, #BBL attendance down 16% YOY, #aleague attendance down 10.4% YOY. That's not a statement on either code or competition, that's a statement on how hard it is to actually get people to games”. austadiums.com/sport/comp.php…“Further to this, despite the strides the #NBL is making, average attendance is down a whopping 34% YOY. Again, not a comment on that code or competition -- just highlighting the challenges all sports are facing.”“Meanwhile, #NRL attendance down 2% from 2016 to 2017 and #AFL flat from 2016 to 2017.” Bbl stadiums arent empty like ours..and that figure will narrow as they have their plastic derby games coming up.
