Under 16 girls down 0-1 to Bangladesh. Bangladesh playing direct so our girls getting frustrated. F*** the curriculum playing out from the back
We don't seem to have instinctive players.

As expected the Matildas squad for the matches with Chile is a mix of World Cup players and new/old additions https://thewomensgame.com/news/matildas-star-kyah-simon-back-for-camp-531362

Nice tosee McCormick and Checker come in. Think they could have trialled king at cb too and some more fullbacks to backup carpenter, catley and roestbakken.
our midfield needs a lot more depth too, probably even weaker than our defense.
our forward line is good for another 5 years so long as they stay healthy. only DevAnna due to age leaves. kerr, Raso, foord, Gielnik, Fowler, Logarzo all still got some years.

Yes, time to go for dower. Playing the same team every game with only late subs. Kids were exhausted. players in the wrong positions and players who we need are not there.

+xU16 girls were 1-0 And then conceded 2 goals in the game for 3rd place against China PR. Just lost Sack Rae Dower. I feel obliged to mention that the standard of reffing was woeful this game. Constant hacks by the China girls, some studs up, some last line, one on our keeper followed by a fist bump from the fouler by a team mate - hardly anything called a free kick let alone an appropriate card for some nasty stuff. As I saw it, the Aussie girls were out playing China until they got kicked and pulled out of the game and lost composure.
When I wear their colours, I am the club.

Templeman Taranto / Nash / Fenton / Rankin Wallhead Mcnamara / Morley / Lowry Henry / Fowler

Thought the Stajcic conspirators wanted this woman to be Matildas coach? Lol. Btw what happen to the Stajcic independent inquiry?

I like the concept but seems to be harder to justify if the revenue generated between the men’s and women’s game is significanty different.
The women’s game deserve more investment, but that should be part of a broader plan to have deliverable targets and align increases to that. Pay equality is one thing, but it’s not always so cut and dry.

Pay equality is one thing, but it’s not always so cut and dry. Not to mention the skill level, standard of play and competitiveness of the opposition. That alone is out of this world. The current joeys team would easily put 10 past them....in a half. Tell you what.... if they can beat the Joeys they can have the cash...but not till then. How long did it take the Socceroos to earn what they currently earn....decades is what. And it’s just gifted to the Matildas because of insane out of control leftist liberalism....a slap in the face to the 74 Socceroos part-timers don’t you think...

+xMeh. It's the way the wind is blowing. Good PR move. It's great news for women's football in Australia. Should ensure a lot of naturally talented female athletes playing football with aspiration of playing for the Matildas. Until other countries follow Australia's lead, Australia will have an advantage in a tug of war situation where countries are fighting over the services of a female dual national. Don't think it will have an adverse effect on men's football, and Socceroos. There will always be some who will be miffed. At least the length of the game is the same for both sexes, ninety minutes, unlike Tennis...

What a HUGE opportunity for our code to launch itself higher in the Australian market and gain some more market share around the world.
This is groundbreaking and we MUST leverage it to promote the A League, W League and all national teams.
This should be having major press conferences, press releases and a media blitz, which will cost FFA virtually nothing and which will be shown around the world.
Have A League and W League players in club uniform talking about representing the national team and also talking up the local league on ABC weekend breakfast, offsiders, the project, sunrise etc.
I just hope FFA know how much free publicity and marketing this can get for both the A League and W League and are ready for the blitz.

You could argue that the Socceroos are overpaid. Their pay structure goes back to the semi-pro days.

But that shouldn’t mean we need to knock the Matilda’s down because they got a good deal for themselves.
