Scotland lead 1:0 on 47 with a lofty kind of shot flying into the absolute top corner inside post. This is hard to watch. 

Gorry needs to release the ball instead of playing with it so often.  Fowler needs to hit her passes with a bit of speed instead of under-hitting the pass.

Biggest issue around here is matching socks. Most teams have non clashing shirts but socks are another matter.

Just to clarify, Scotland have a player called Sam Kerr and some witch called Emma Watson. 

But is it Adelaide vs Roar red vs orange bad? Ha there was a day! Couldn't believe it. Eyes hurt.

Sun is out and it's hard to notice the yellow in the away kit. I like it though.

Got to say... In the sun we're in this turquoise while Scotland are in a purple white mix which is not the strongest contrast. 

It seems we'll be playing in the away kit. Nice to see how it looks in action.

Apologise by slightly derailing the thread, but our sporting news sometimes smacks of being a tiny parochial backwater in sport.

Given the live spectator crowds for the Matildas and Socceroos and the fact it is easily the biggest spectator sport in the world, verified by data, our national football teams playing should always be big news.

AFL has zero interest overseas.
 
Looking at all the data, even  union doesn't  figure at all. League has a much lower international  profile again.

Also, IMO women's football is very watchable. Tactically and structurally the Matildas are just as good as male international  footballers.

Don't get me started on the ABC and it's minimal coverage of football( men's and women's).AFL,AFLW,NRL,NRLW and RU get more coverage.The Sydney Morning Herald is the same though its Saturday magazine did a piece on Graham Arnold.

I'm so pissed off about this!

We are getting saturation women's AFL on ABC TV - nothing  about  the Matildas and barely anything about the World Cup! I was in the pressure group Friends Of The ABC.

Sadly, not having recently  visited Football Aus's site  I didn't  know the Matildas played last night and missed the game! There was nothing anywhere about the game being on in terms of media or advertising.

That second half was the best I've seen then play in years. Fast, expansive play, quick movement, combinations galore.

Hope the spud can keep it up.

And he may have only been there for 2 years but it feels like 4.

If I counted the women's international windows correctly we have up to 7 more internationals before the final squad has to be named and 2 more in the lead up to the tournament.  That should be enough to get the team working better and to give the younger ones more games to build them up to the 10-20 caps mark.  Having missed a total of about 16 months due to covid over the time since Gustavsson took over the Matildas it is about all we could expect in the circumstances.

3:1 Matildas win. Better. 

We conceded first minute, then Kerr misses a great chance in the 2nd min.
