Clearly if the ground is government owned, they are going to hire it to whoever wants to pay for it to be hired.  Rock concerts are more likely to cause damage to the pitch than this muck around game.

There also a strong possibility of underlying politics here

provided financial commercial in confidence support to Ports AFL Chinese junket

And to the local game ?
nothing to AUFC
but plenty to local clubs ( like West Adelaide ) and artificial turf developments in the western suburbs
all around  election time
