As soon as Postecoglou announced his move to Japan, I predicted that he will get sacked before the World Cup in Russia starts.
He simply lacks Football knowledge. Being successful in the A-League means absolutely nothing. It's equivalent of being successful in Liga 4 in Germany..
Yokohama F. Marinos currently are in 15th place. As I expected. The question remains: When will they sack him? Or will he do a runner again before they sack him to save his face?
For the first time in his life he actually has to coach in a proper League. As a Socceroos coach he only assembled players who got coached in Europe by far superior coaches than himself. And he enjoyed the blind patriotic support of journalists and fans from down under who have no clue about Football whatsoever. Bogans who only know "oi oi oi" and if there was no Football in this country, they would be at the NRL or AFL grounds....
It is crystal clear to anyone with Football knowledge, that there is no current A-League coach competent enough to coach the Socceroos when Bert van Marvijk's contract ends. We need to search for a competent man in Europe again, of course.

very one dimensional manager... yes dominating possession is great and making 700 passes is great but if your not getting results no one cares...
I think hes more a man manager than tactician and he gets found out time and time again.

Cant' blame him for trying. Tbf his teams usually take a bit of time to get results, depends how patient the board are I guess.

His style takes time to gel and it will with a two month World Cup break in Japan. Meanwhile you can go and enjoy the great Socceroos coached teams of sour faces like Bert and Arnie.

If he can string a few wins together he will be back in the top half in no time but if he does eventually get sacked it is not the end of the world. He will continue on elsewhere, every coach has their ups and downs, Ange is no different. He has achieved a lot in his time as a coach locally and on an international level and no amount of hating from some people will change that.

I'm sure Yokohama F Marinos were aware of Ange's football philosophy before he was hired. Since the City Football Group control about 20% of the clubs shares, they probably wanted to create a similar environment to Manchester City. Pep didn't win the EPL in his first year so I think Ange should (and hopefully will) get two full seasons to bring in the right players and/or develop some players to match his (and CFG's) philosophies.
Yes, it isn't the best start to a season from a results perspective but I think the football problems they are facing can be fixed - certain players are making poor decisions in vital areas of the pitch. The only way I see him getting sacked this season is if they start to drop into the relegation zone.

Currently, he is the manager of Yokohama F. Marinos, however, he has once again been tipped for the role of manager at Rangers F.C., following a short, beer fuelled discussion between team-mates of a central Scotland based junior football team.
lol.. someones been playing with his wiki page again....

Don't know his arrangement with management - maybe it's 2 season so long as they don't get relegated. His budget could also be constrained or he hasn't been able to get all the players he wants yet or as many have said, he is still implementing a system.

The bogan fan base cycle continues
step 1 possession based coach takes over step 2 a bunch of poor results for a few months causes everyone to say the coach sux, or they are 2 one dimensional, or it won't work at this context/these players etc step 3 posession based coach's team starts to dominate step 4 bogans go quiet until next possession based coach takes over and goes back to step 1

+xAnge "Kakadu" Postecoglou "you'll never never know if you never never go" Ha good one, should be Kakadou though. Oh and Funarch, seems more to me that you've made his move to Japan and this thread more about you matey than Ange himself. I'll be sure to bookmark this one.

There are a few hard truths to learn for both sides For A League coaches they need to learn that in the real world teams don't take it in turns in winning titles. Some regions have more money than others. Some regions are better at player development than others. The teams at the top have quality and depth and there is a real pecking order But the hard truth for fans is that not wining the league isn't necessarily a failure. For some teams simply making the league is a success. For some its about avoiding relegation. Others might strive for a middle table finish To say that Ange has failed because he didn't do in a real league what he did in a balanced league is a contradictory arguement

I hope Ange does get the sack but only so Sydney Fc can sign him.

+xthey need to learn that in the real world teams don't take it in turns in winning titles. They do in Japan. The last 4 seasons have all had a different champion. In fact, 9 different teams have won it since 2002, so your post doesn't belong here. Please go away with your repetitive nonsense.

Its not like the same team is going to win every year like people here fear if the salary cap ever went The A League has had 6 different premiers in 7 years, out of a pool of 10 teams Having 9 different winners in a 17 year period from a pool of 30 or 40 teams isn't abnormal
