In terms of Dufty possibly moving to the halves, Credence, Casey and Averillo can play fullback.

The Fox and Naden can plsy fullback.

Casey is quite good at fullback.

I would not move Dufty now becuase in attack should havles should have 3 options.

1. Pass to a runner - ofen TPJ or Hethro
2. Pass to Dufty
3. Run.

If we are trying to playing around sides, Dufty is the man to throw the final ball, I would keep him at fullback for now.

For the next trial.

1. Dufty.
2, Foxy
3. Naden
4. Schoupp
5. Credence
6. Burton
7. Averillo
8. Thommo.
9. Cook
10. Vaughan
11. TPJ
 10. Hethro
13. Jacko

14. JMK
16. Seafood
16 King
17. Patolo.

Reserves - Casey Alamoti, Wakeham, BBO, Topine, RFM, Hoffmann

Play with the starting 17 most of the game unless there are injuries.
If Averillo makes too many mistakes, hook him and put on a reserve.

The NRL couldn’t have it both ways though - suspend him from The All Stars and then not make it count. Origin games, Aus games they all count.

Either The All Stars counts too or they let him play it - and seeing as they didn’t, it’s got to count.

I thought we had a case where a player (can't  remember  who) could not be selected for origin due to suspension so it couldn't  count because he wasn't  selected. The limited selection criteria is what sets this game apart. Whether  or not he plays the All Stars game I don't  care, but I believe  he should serve his full suspension in club games.

Some good points.
I agree we were rushed and stood too shallow.
The solution and adjustment was simple.
Thats if the team had an IQ.

If it happens again without adjustment, im blaming both players a coaches.

Our biggest problem for a long time is the lack of direction. Burton will most likely give the team that. He is a leader and certainly can direct the team. But it will take some time for him be assert that authority. Avo and Flanno have had the chance to do that and have failed so far.
Standing to shallow is the halfbacks call. He needs to direct the team and if he can’t get his backline set the team will struggle. This should happen at training. I’m assuming Baz has them set right at training but on game day it’s fallen apart. That’s why he blamed the halves.

Latrell Mitchells suspension was handled adequately by the NRL. They didn't let him play All Stars so it has to be counted in his suspension conditions. The only other way that these matters can be handled is to hand down time sensitive penalties. So instead of a 3 game suspension give a 3 week suspension and any subsequent mid week or extra games would be included.

If a player is considered a selection for SOO then he’s suspended from SOO and it counts as part if his suspension. His they determine his likely selection or not I got no idea.

But they do and SOO is s limited selection criteria too so all the precedent was there on Mitchell’s side once The NRL decided he was suspended from the All Star game.

Once they did, it had to count.

The system is slightly unfair not all players are eligible for SOO or All Stars.

A better solution is serve the suspension in the arena where it was triggered or make suspensions specific.
For example a suspension could be 3 NRL games + 1 SOO + 1 All Stars, with the higher grade comp suspensions converting to NRL at the end of the the season if not served.

In the case of Latrell those handing down the suspension knew All Stars was coming.

While more complex a lesser suspension could simply be 2 NRL games making Latrell eligible for All Stars.

Except for major offences, I want NRL suspensions served in the NRL.

An added bonus is sn offence in SOO might be a suspension of 1 SOO game, the players NRL club is unaffected.

IMO this isn't too complex.

Funnily enough, i think i heard Vossy say in one of the trials, that players can play the trials but not count it as a suspension game.

The All Stars is a scheduled game that Latrell has been part of for afew years. Its not a dreamt up game after his suspension notice, so im ok with it counting to his suspension in the same way a Test would be.

Of course, if they played 3 of them before the season and players tried to use them to serve their suspensions on them, then id have an issue

Theres a difference between playing fullback and filling in at fullback.

JAC, Averillo and probably Casey are fill-ins. Credence is probably the one that can actually play in the position.

Its like Hoppa can fill-in but couldnt really play it long term

All the guys I list are faster than Hoppa.

Casey and Averillo have played fullback in the lower grades and done well.

Naden has played fullback at NRL level.

Fox has played in the halves. He definitely would like a crack at FB.

Credence is the next best option, but if we need to move Dufty, all of the above are options.

After Credence, Casey probably has more recent experience playing fullback than the others.

It was for Latrell to learn from it and it be a deterrent for him and other players to not attack the head.

It wasnt served for the bulldogs or other team to benefit from it. Or for souths to be disadvantaged.

It was for him, to feel the pinch and change his ways.

So if we watch our games last season backwards we start out behind and get points for stopping tries working the score back to 0-0. The comp ends up with all teams on zero comp points, so I guess we won it.

Credence very unlucky.

Stimson, Flanno and a few others also lucky.

Second chances are fine, but some of these guys have a big negative balance.

Okunbar, he of hands of clay, will probably be picked Rnd 1 and until he gives us no other choice.

Because, though a klutz, there’s not much else size in the back 3 to take the hit ups off a kick. There’s the option of swinging Schoup back there for the first few hit ups but that’s about it. Fox for all his plus’s don’t make too many metres doing that job and can’t expect Dufty to do it.

First two hit ups really have to be Ocky and Sloop…. maybe Naden too.
