Rumours are we’ve signed Ryan Sutton from Canberra for 3 years from ‘23 who is genuine hard bastard. If nothing else it seems Gus wants a real Dogs of War pack going forward.
Won’t impress Marki, but the truth is The Dogs have always been at our best when we stomp our way upfield.

+x+x+x+xBurton FULLSTOP Marki has lot his marbles. I think Avo will do a decent job at halfback.
The problem is no longer our attack. It’s very clearly our shit defence. But that can and will improve. How much will decide Barrett’s coaching future. Marki is right in that Wakeham is a candidate for the halves. Fullback - Avacado, Credence or Casey are the options... Dufty - I'm very happy with his attack and very unhappy with his defence. Plan A - try to improve Dufty maybe 3 games depending on how he goes, if no improvement after 3, try plan B. I think plan B particularly Averillo or Credence can perhaps match what Dufty offers and back it up with better defence. My big problem with Dufty is yardage and defence, sometimes he doesn't seem to be making an effort. For this year Wakeham should be a chance. But I think Avo is the best option.
Dufty is fullback and I don’t think defence is going to change that. The front line should be responsible for defence. If they get past our team is not good enough. That’s what we need to fix.
Avo is either the halfback or utility. Honestly I think he is a great 14. Hopefully we find a halfback in the juniors. But until then Avo needs a lot of time.
Honestly the team is set. And I hope it doesn’t change much at all. The players aren’t the issue. Cohesion in defence and attack is. I’m happy to back the team and Baz for now.
1. Dufty 2. Ok 3. Schoup 4. naden 5. Fox 6. Burton 7. Avo 8. Vaughan 9. JMK 10. Thommo 11. TPJ 12. Hetho 13. Jacko
14. Wakeham/BBO 15. Patolo 16. King 17. Stimson 9. JMK I would also consider Cook. 17. Stimpson- should be Topine, Doorey or RFM. IMO Stimson is a 3rd choice selection. Not bad, just average. Our problem is TPJ will miss plenty of tackles in the front line, and Dufty may as well sit on the sideline when we are defending. Someone like Topine would stiffen up the defence. In fact I would start Topine and put TPJ on the bench. Theory being after 20-30 TPJ will make a difference. If the coach has to pick players in certain starting positions due to salary/ego, that is a receipe for failure. In making these comments, I'm not surpised, but I would like to be surprised by the team defending better than last season, attack is 2-3 rungs up the ladder compared to last season. I would love to see Topine in there too. I just think he is a lightweight and probably better as the utility. And we already have a utility in Wakeham or BBO

+x+xI was suggesting either Averillo or Burton plays centre with the other at #6. Would have to be Avo at centre, even though Burton is the better player in that positioni. In fact he is the better #6 and centre. Its so vital we win at least 1 of the first 2 games, otherwise the deck chairs might be moved as Barrett comes under pressure. Agreed. Winning the first two games ensures team stability. We need Avo and Burto to build a good combination. That takes time. No use moving them now. Next year with Reed they will all be much better for it. Give them time Dman BDP participant... Dude... Gotta stop the Lou Reed talk...

+xIf the side doesn't improve by say round 3. 1, Averillo 7. Wakeham is worth a shoy, also becuase that combination can play well together. My biggest gripe with Baz last season was he stuck with Flanno, Katoa and a few others for far too long. Anyway one good win will be all it takes for us to claim we never had any doubts 😁 What happened to Foxx at FB???...

This Pakistan test. Cricket played on a road or a minefield is boring. Needs a genuine contest between bat & ball

Vale Warnie.
There’s gonna be a lot of revisionism today from people telling warm stories about him even though they thought he was a prick.
Myself, of course I feel for his family, especially his kids. REALLY especially for his kids, losing a father at that age will be really hard. And him too, I feel sorry for him. nobody should go at 52, even pricks.
And it is a sad day for cricket, losing both Bacchus and Warnie on the same day.
But let’s not re-write history. He was probably the 2nd greatest cricketer of all time, certainly the best bowler.
And a prick.

Surprised Burns is there but his experience is greater than Schoup. So that’s fair enough. BBO getting the bench over Wakes is a surprise but he certainly is the better player. It’s the best side we can put out

But Okunbor... really. This alone doesn't unstill me with confidence. JMK at 9... didn't work too well last year, so I can't see why anything would change.

JMK is the most experienced 9 we have. There is no better option.
We need a win. The forwards should win it for us. I’m tipping us for a close win.

NRL360 re drones at training. Kent saying Gould didn't address the other points they made. How pathetic. They were called out as BS on something as easily verified as drones at training. How can anything they say have credibility.

How can anything they say have credibility. Didn't see it but if we are questioning 'germoulist antegrity' there is no doubt... The likes of Kent&co would be lucky to be mployed as creative writers by woman's Day or the WHO if it weren't for Rugby league... #hack #grubs #germoulists #antegrity....

Great, the team needs that up in the lockers. Trail form indifferent, but the Sharks played well. Round 1 - forget the trials, we have got the team selection close enough to right, the motivation should be there. Dropped balls, dumb penalties and poor coordination in defence are the slippery slope we need to avoid. Overall - I think we should win.
