I'm over that drama queen Matt Nable. Luckily I usually watch shows later on replay and can fast forward.

+xI'm over that drama queen Matt Nable. Luckily I usually watch shows later on replay and can fast forward. Lol. Was thinking the same thing. He has this certain inflection in his delivery. It works when you havent heard it before or havent heard it for a while. But when its done too often, it sounds silly.

Was looking at the NSW Cup team and noted one of the reserves was Zach Docker-Clay . who at one time was considered quite promising...think he may have started with the Warriors. So has he been someone who never reached his potential or went off the boil and is trying to resurrect his career or something else?

+xNew profile pic. In defiance of the pic of the murderous bastard above. I don't like to use the term loosely... But this is possibly the greatest act of heroism since FB users opined Je Suis Charlie... ;)

Now more than ever, rugby league has become a game of the smart players.
Give me smart players with average skills any day of the week over a bunch of skillful playerswith no brains.

Penrith just ask so many questions when running the ball. The settler run appears rarely and its rather effective when done. We on the other hand have the settler as our go-to plan. Chalk and cheese between us and them. This is the best ive seen Penrith play without Cleary for a long time

Well if there is 1 positive from playing the last game of Round 1, its that just before the game starts, nearly half the teams will be below us on For and Against

Penrith won this game when their forwards won the yardage battle in the first twenty minutes. Nothing to do with smarts. It was simply a great forward pack outplaying their opposition. They didn’t give Manly any room to move. Great chase. Just too good.
Kikau waa very impressive. Reminded me of Sonny Bill. If he can play that good for us consistently he will be a great signing.

O'Sullivan went ok for a second stringer who supposedly only gets a job because of his old man. Only 23 too.

Penrith impressive in attack and defence.
Footy games are won by effort, composure and execution.

I think the game last night showed two things. a) Penrith are still gonna be in it a long long way...despite having the worst bundh of hairdos I've even seen b) Manly won't be as big a threat as last year. They struggle in the hooker department. The big second rower who is getting all the plaudits isn't the brightest. Tommy Turbo will be watched very closely.
Penrith's 2nd disallowed try was robbery. Manly's sole try was probably off a forward pass

Manly's sole try was probably off a forward pass Probably a bit unfair to take too much out of one game. But I agree Panthers will be tough to beat again if they put in that effort every game. They have a huge, fast forward pack. They defend as a team. They are relentless. With the talent they have they just need to maintain that attitude to be very hard to beat.
Manly were the opposite. And don’t have the forward pack to really compete with the best teams. But they are always in every game because they scramble in defence and have a great backline.
Probably a bit early to write off or hand the trophy to either of those teams.

We know the standard we should be aiming for, how close we can come is the question. Panthers also need to keep that up all season. If they do top 4 seems certain.

What's the game coming to. Never thought I'd see a front rower with a pink ribbon in his hair.

Very disjointed South's. The control and organisation of Reynolds along with the flair of Mitchell being missed big time.

Agree wholeheartedly, but the commentators are still muppets. It's only the first round and they're shooting their wad already.

An organising controlling half. Maybe we should pick the best in the club in this role and run with him. Experienced or not. You only get experience by playing. Burton needs to be a free spirit

Burton needs to be a free spirit Flanno is that type of player, sadly currently a long way off being good enough. Of the rest, Wakeham is closer to being a real half. A young half needs to be really good to come into the NRL and dominate from day 1. The next rung down eventually make it after about 3 seasons of NRL. The quickest fix is an experienced half, good ones are not cheap, cheap ones often have injury issues. I can't think of anyone we could get for 2022.
