+xThe Bunker has helped us and also failed us. The fail will probably be overlooked and the headlines will be how lucky we were in a sloppy game. But Averillo was 100% robbed. The Bunker could not see the ball touch the ground conclusively and the call was held up BUT that was not the case. The Cowboys player did not have his hand under the ball. It was to the side and Averillo had downward pressure. It should not have mattered that an inch was obscured...there was more than enough empirical evidence to award it. Similarly I believe we were robbed with Dufty's no try. This was not a game for the purists, BUT to win on the road in north Queensland in round 1 is great. NAden looked slick in the centres. Burton's 6th tackle kicks were a welcome relief from what we have been offering. I do think Max King could be a great buy and was glad to see Seafood on teh run on side. He is hitting them up with more venom than last year. AND still alive in the "going through the year undefeated stakes" Hate to admit it but most of those outside-inside balls are forward, but often let go. Its just that it was called forward this time (surprise surprise). And it was.

+xFekk yeah!!!! I was nearly in tears with 2 mins to go... Great effort and discipline in the second half!!!... Max King my new man crush!!!.... Probably the most gutsy win I have seen from the Bulldogs in years . They had the crowd, the ref and injuries against them , Hopefully a shot in the arm the team needs .

Overall some of the work Avo, Burton and Dufty did in combination looks promising.
Our try showed the other thing we need quick ptb close to the line and correct decision ny the dummy half.
JMK had a good game.
Hethro and TPJ might be sketchy in defence at times, but there are points in this side.
Short kicking close to the line needs to be improved, too short is way better than too long. Alf Langer msde a career out of kicking the ball no more than 3 inches.

Avo to Burto back inside to Duffman. We should being looking for that every game. I would love Baz to have that play as the go to and work everything around it. Just need to give both Avo and Burto the confidence to run themselves or look for a different pass. Let the opposition defence determine the play.
Also by making Burto and Avo the decision makers it lets us replace everybody around them with youngsters or journeymen. Adding Reed next year gives the forwards a leader we just need to workout our long term fullback.

We are starting to have good depth in the backline. One more really imposing starting prop would be handy, but seafood went great. Halves wise Burton and Averillo work persisting with for now. By June we should know what we need for the next phase of the rebuild. Keeping in mind Reed and Kicks are coming.

Sounds like its the aussies again and its looking more and more like they have lost their steely edge (Waugh era). I did say at the time that Smith should have been reinstated as captain.

Of all the jizzfesting over the "great" souffs comeback all I saw was a referee hell bent on getting the bunnies back into the game at all costs. I am not sure if the rules have changed but that last line drop out that only went 5 metres but bounced out past the 10 metre line I thought that should have been a penalty to storm because the kick initially failed to travel the 10 metres.
