Rugby league died tonight.
I cannot believe what I just saw in Tigers game. That video ref and on field ref should never be allowed within 50m of a rugby league ground for LIFE.
They shouldn't even be allowed to their kids games.
What a joke

Even if it goes on report it wasn't a sin bin. Look through the tapes of games we will find many clearly deliberate tackles put on report with no bin. When I called it marginal, I was being generous. With the modern game they need to be careful about the use of the bin. 1. Deliberate foul play- if not a send off. 2. Backchat- could be used more often. 3. Professional foul preventing a try. 4. Repeat infringements after formal warning. Having strict guidelines should make them more consistent.

They don't go together. Only interpretations that can be changed, twisted, distorted, bent and justified to suit the situation.

I still say that the bunker should be show of hands at a pub in Neutral Bankstown.

Just when you think the NRL couldnt stoop any lower and today they come up with "soft whistle"
So the ref signalled soft whistle when Laurie caught the ball.....but not hard whistle for full-time. What if the pea shrunk inside the whistle from all the toxic blows by the ref? Does it make it softer?
Irrespective of all this..I dont know how on earth Kenty felt the escort call was justified. Anasta couldn't even believe his ears.
I'd like to pose this hypothetical.... a couple of weeks ago Schoupp sprinted away from near our tryline and ran best part of 90m with JAC in support who impeded a chaser from getting to Schoupp. JAC was ahead of the defender and in a legal position to support Schoupp.
How is it any different to the Tigers winger running towards the ball drop zone, in front of Kyle Feldt and then colliding with him?

Feldt leaned into him to initiate the contact as part of a dive.

The NRL are too reactive. They change rules every year for too many reasons. It’s gotten to the stage where I just wish they would make no rule changes for a five to ten year time slot. I don’t even care what the rules are. I just want them to stick with them.
I’m fed up with coaches simply trying to bend the rules to win.

Topine in this week RFM unfortunately out injured.
Wardell might be suspended, Knights without Ponga should be beatable.

+x5 weeks!!!… Bloody crooks… Deserved a week or two. I don't rate Wardell becuase he makes too many errors, however his fitness and work rate are good. A chance for a couple of young forwards to get smje game time. Impact on results, marginal.

+x5 weeks!!!… Bloody crooks… Kangaroo court if ever there was one...Waddell's fate was sealed before he even went it. He was quite eloquent and I do believe sincere...compare his 5 weeks...no harm done at all to Finucane's 2 weeks...his was a variant of the flying Dylan Napa head.....Crighton had bad concussion and nearly lost an ear. Totally reckless compared to accidental

What's even more upsetting is the fact that Tino the big girls blouse didn't even have the guts to attend the hearing. He cried foul about the eye gouge to get a penalty and it cost someone 5 weeks. Although I am a big fan of eliminating thuggery from the game, I feel it is going too far and turning Rugby League into a powder puff sport.

Dale Finucane copped two weeks because of a head clash with Crighton, and the NRLol said any contact with the head by any part of the body, deliberate or accidental is not tolerated. Therefore why didn't Crighton also get charged for contact with Finucane's head.... I know it's nit picking, but rules are rules or else the NRLol is a farce.

Opened a massive can of worms if they’re saying accidental head clashes will result in suspension… Will lead to more binnings as well I expect…Finucanes was reckless probably deserved a week or two…

dman, Finucane conceded that he will have to adjust his tackling technique and has said that others should take note. You are correct I can see a lot more sinbins, send offs and suspensions if the players don't heed Finucane's warning.

Typical NRLol sounding like politicians… say they won’t tolerate it yet we have seen and most of us likely supported a reduction in accidentals being binned/suspended… I think the defending team should have to wear masks to protect themselves and those around them…

Apart from a complaint did Tino show any evidence of injury or discomfort at the time? As this action was as a result of a complaint did the referee look to see if there was any visible evidence to support the complaint? From memory Tino played on as if nothing happened.

Which is why the judiciary is an absolute joke. They must have had some proof to find him guilty. Did the still photo verify that there was pressure applied to the eyesocket? Could they even tell if there were any fingers in the eye? One thing that was evident in that photo is that there were no movements in the chest area from any of the players involved so it must be said that they were all dead at the time.....

I have no real issue with this one and 2 weeks is fair especially given the ugly injury. It would be unfair if James Graham copped suspension on say the 2014 GF incident. That one is what you call accidental and unrealistic to expect the defender to alter what would typically be a legal and safe tackling technique. The precedent im concerned about is when players slip or dive late and may cop a high shot very late, in an otherwise perfectly legal tackle. They already give it as a penalty and on report, but id hate to see suspensions on incidents like that where there is no time fir the defender to make a safe adjustment.

Pride jersey opinions?
Personally I would be happy to have one. It would certainly attract a lot of attention.
