+xHonestly. What’s wrong with a draw. No golden point rubbish please.
I agree. A game is 80 minutes long and that's where it should stay for everyone.

I agree also, but do you think for one minute the buffoons in charge will leave the game alone and only adjust when and if necessary instead of evertime someone thinks there is a buck to be made. The sooner we get rid of V'Landys the better.

Good effort first half but the Cows had more of the ball.
We need at least 50% of posession in the 2nd half to win.

It's just the usual... we started well but tbe Cows are getting a lions share of "fortuitous" calls. Plus their jersey is too close to ours.. that was a bad blue.

Everything else we are doing well and look to be the better team. But against the wind it’s going to be very tough

Dogs just need to hang in there .

The effort was good all of the defence tired us out.
To take the next step, better execution and more punch in the forwards.
The Cows have a good pack and a good rotation.
I am not a fan of keeping players fresh for the backend, but our rotation couldn't match theirs.
With Kicks and Marhoney we would go a lot closer to winning this kind of game.

Little things mean a lot...just before half time Dogs kicked through and Kiraz knocked it back into a Cowboy who took the ball dead...the refs are constantly getting the "not played at" calls wrong and this was a classic example. If the bloke is actively involved in the play that cannot be the call. He was there so he was involved in the play. Leilua is a great player but surely his "try" was a double movement. Again refereeing the basics seems too hard.

With Kiks and Police academy we should win these games.
Yes our forward rotation is poor. It does hurt we are losing our best Vaughan.
We took the second best team to the last quarter and with a few good calls could have beaten them. Happy with the effort

We need to be better though. The bad calls shouldn’t cost us games. We should be able to beat any team and the refs

But that isn’t the rule. They didn’t play at it. Honestly there are many other times the ref went against us I was complaining about.
But my point is. We need to be so good that it doesn’t matter. We should have scored early to make it 14/16 - 0. But gave them the ball and it was 10-6. Huge turnaround right there.
Schoup needs to pass earlier to the Fox. Stop hogging the ball and getting in his way.

We need to control what we do. We can’t control the refs or the opposition. Be better at taking opportunities. Apply more pressure. Don’t give the opposition any opportunity. Etc. that’s what made us great. Hard, tough, grinding footy.

But inspite of that, with better ball control and a bit better execution in attack we could have beat the 2nd best side. Playing the top sides shows us where we need to improve and what the required level is. We have improved a lot in the last 6 weeks, but we are only halfway to where we want to be.

JMK has a great running game and a good long pass, we don't score many trys off short passes from him.

If we play the same footy as the last six weeks next year for the whole year. We beat enough sides to make the eight. It’s so simple. But can we do it?

+x+x+x+xMy biggest issue with GP is why should a team be given extra time to win the two points. I still maintain an outright win three points, draw one point each plus one more point for extra time win. If you give a team extra time you give an advantage only applicable to selective games. Do the points count in for and against? They do… Wow. That's bad. Throughout the season many teams would improve their for and against with extra time. I disagree. If a team is banking on playing many golden points games through a season, they are not really a top 4 team a day more like 6th-10th team. If you think that's a good thing, go for it. Good top 4 teams put teams to the sword mire often than not and scrape wins (or losses) in GP games. They don't aim for them. They settle for them if they cannot win the game well before 80th min.

One has to be reminded of the "gift" of a try in the 2004 GF by El masri who came to a complete stop in goal and them dived again to score. Hard to throw stones after that.....

How we play now is how I expected us to be playing after 1 or 2 rounds, and in round 20 I expected us to be playing even better. Potter has done extremely well to give us hope for the future and enjoy watching the team for rest of year. The weight of expectation has been lifted due to us not playing for finals. But id like the team to start practising winning even with expectation.

The Bulldogs resurrected his career after the debacle of a party he held with St George during the covid lockdown. He was on a one year contract and destined for the super league. I feel he auditioned well for the superleague. Jacko is doing okay...is he the Bulldog's player you must malign at the moment.? It is a pity Luke Thompson was so badly affected by concussion as he is a great player. His running is some of most explosive I've seen from a forward. in recent times.

Always thought he timed his runs well in a team that constantly plays at an incorrect tempo. As for Jacko, I was trying to praise Vaughan's on field captaincy rather than stick the boot into Jacko, but the reality is Jacko ain't a good enough on field captain. The BBQ incident sounds as stupid now as it did when it happened. The financial loss to Vaughan is unfathomable for an incident that didn't hurt anyone but was just a broken rule.....

BtW your remarks about for and against was totally out ofcontext with the earliet discussion. If you care to resd back we were musing the subject of golden point and why we should get rid of it.
