+x+xInteresting to see media defending Teddy by sprouting how many metres he ran when the problem was he didnt pass enough… Id have been ok with 100m less if he set up his outside men… Teddy has been doing this his whole career. Always has stunted the attack. Fantastic player in almost every other aspect of his game though.
The problem was the rushing defence from Qld put pressure on the first and second receiver. They never had space to pass and just got pushed back into the inside space.
Unfortunately that’s how origin is played. Line speed is king. And refs rarely call you offside. Qld have known this for years. One day we will figure it out too Feels like he’s doing it more this year… or perhaps feels Leila that due to breaking less tackles, and maybe not attracting as many defenders creating numbers to pass to… due to loss of half a yard of pace maybe…

Teddy was trying hard, but he was trying to win it by himself, most of those runs posed no threat to the QLD defence. The QLD fullback was more dangerous in attack. I am not for wholesale changes, but Critter deserves to keep his spot, if fit Latrell should be picked. IMO the side is more dangerous with Latrell at fullback. IMO Turbo didn't get many opportunities, not enough ball and never early ball with space. IMO the problem with Turbo is not a one night thing, it is the evidence of the season as a whole. The whole side played exactly like they have at their own clubs all year… In saying that, I’m not saying they all were poor either… Some of our players not playing direct enough. I'm thinking Lua and Tedesco. Running around like chooks with their heads cut off. Hynes not needed too much like Cleary. Burton at least to the bench.

I'm thinking Luai and Tedescco. Too much running around like chooks with their heads cut off. Burton to the bench in lieu of Hynes. Hynes and Cleary not needed together. IMO more like Yeo and Tedesco. The Panthers style works in club games, but not in SOO against an energetic and determined QLD side, Not that they were far off every 3rd play needed to be a fast shift and at the business end every 2nd play needed to be a fast hard run off a simple direct pass. The also need to cut out the fumbles and poor kicks. Teddy was playing similar to Edwards at the Panthers, that style suits Edwards. The problem is that Teddy is dancing around with energy but not running straight and direct. Even when a defender misses there were more in the frame. Funnily enough the Dogs attacking style against the Storm early in the season is the right style to play this year. Move the ball fast, beat the slide and give attackers space in a one-on-one match up.

Old and stupid I suppose.

Old and stupid I suppose. Mase thinks like I do, Cook should be on the bench and Api should get a rest. Cook speeds up the game and makes the attack more direct, playing 80 mins in the middle is hard. Hynes is a great player but needs to wait for an opportunity in the havles. Mase's other thought was that Martin should start, again I'm in 100% agreement. Turbo probably out of the next game due to limited preparation. I think that Teddy will probably be playing next game, most NSW players deserve a shot at turning it around. If we lose game 2, try some new faces for game 3. And drop Hudson Young for a player with more size or brains.

+xFvck me… this not being allowed to touch a kicker is fekking ridiculous… Every kick's a free kick nowadays. Crazy. 10 metre rule, can't touch the kicker, all the time in the world. These guys are getting reputations as kickers when they would have been put into the next postcode in years gone by.

Good effort so far.
Need to step it up a gear in the second half, this is winnable.

So what happened to ‘forceful contact’ to the head being a sin bin???… Im glad it wasn’t a bin as a league fan… but as a league fan it’s just another example of the ref and bunkers inconsistency week to week, game to game, minute to minute…
