+x+x+x+xSee, people that want to constantly bag our halves, never acknowledge stuff like Button (2nd full rear a a first grade 5/8) was ahead of Moses in try assists, and 3rd highest TAs for 5/8ths ahead of Munster and Luai (yes I accept they played a few less games)… The same people don’t acknowledge Sexton made a positive difference in a Team he’d known for two minutes… and there is little else we had available courtesy of existing contracts… The same people don’t think the club has a long term development strategy which would onbviiulsy include halves… We are in a better place than we were 12 months ago with halves, be it personnel or experience and some combos… not the best place, but better…. I reckon there’s way more people out there talking utter shit while pushing their ‘see indernet, I was right about something’ agenda than making excuses… C'mon Dman. You comparing Burton to Moses? Seriously You've lost alot of credibility with stupid statements like that. Moses makes origin and is regarded as one of the better halves in the comp and a go-to man. Burton isn't fit enough to tie his laces. To be honest, and I mean this seriously, Burton is on his last life as a 5/8th. Commentators, league experts etc have seen the light and are calling him out for his inabilities. I personally think Hutch should replace him from round 1 and he can fight off Critta, Kiraz and Xerri for a centre spot coz I also think Taaffe should be FB. In fact Taaffe will be our best player in '24 Bwahahaha… when I seek to have my credibility appraised you’ll be the last person I ask… You don't ask for credibility.... It either gets given to you, or you're denied it. I couldn't care about credibility, don't seek it, don't want it, and I certainly don't need other people's "approval".

Having Critter and hopefully an injury free Kiks should help a lot. Until we gave at least one quality prop and a decent halfback I can’t blame Burto for our poor season. He was easily our best player and only hope in almost every game.

No one was happy with last season.
However we did find out some useful things.
Some players were not up to the task and no capable of playing the style CC wanted the team to play and could not perform under pressure.
IMO we have a few more options in the halves and the spine in 2024, if players don't perform CC can make some changes.
CC tried a few things opinion 2023, but nothing worked.
We need to see howvit plays out, nothing is set in stone at this stage.
What we don't want is a repeat of 2023, particularly the lack of fight we saw all too often.
I was never sold on some of the players who left. Some of the replacements seem to have more grit.

In other words the most obvious options deserve first crack and a decent run. If the forwards are performing and the spine isn't working then try plan B. If the forwards can't hold. their own, it is hard to judge the spine, that was one problem we had in 2023.

Draws out. It’s our best chance for years. Only playing the grand finalists once each. No five day turn arounds. We are a real chance of pushing into the finals. Important to start well.
I’m looking forward to it for the first time in a while.

How long is it gonna be till someone starts and names their band “Deranged Jack Smith and The Thug Prosecutors”. Or “Crooked Joe and The Biden Crime Family”.
It’s one thing Trump does well - coming up with band names.
Can’t wait till the first single from one of them “I Had Every Right Under The Presidential Records Act”. From The album “I Did Nothing Wrong and They Indicted Me.”

We are Friday night specialists for a few rounds.
Night games can be good early in the season.
First 7 rounds are critical 3 home games, need 3/7 or better,

We are pleading insanity, too many drugs, not enough booze, too many lose women, a footy team that has lost too many games recently.... .... And my client also has issues.

I was starting to think only myself, Dman and Micko think Burton is a failed experiment at 5/8th....

Somehow I got logged out, couldn’t remember my password, but I had it in a locked pdf password file on my computer. Then I couldn’t remember the password to my locked pdf password file. Anyway, I do take a break from the intdernet every now and then when the rampant infested cynicism wears out my patience so I didn’t worry about it. Then about a week ago it come to me that my locked pdf password file password was the birthday of my old dog (rest in peace old girl)… then f***ked up the numbers a few times and was reluctant to continue less it permanently locked me out, sure I had the birthday right but… … of course the old girl’s pedigree paper had the birthday on it… but where the f*** was that?
Anyway, found yesterday, I did mess up the birthday.

And I told you they would be going after him and his company for decades. we’ll see which one of us is right and it’s not looking good for you. The criminal prosecutions will stop if and more likely when he’s jailed for one of them, they won’t keep squeezing that lemon… Orange. Though if they need be there’s plenty more to prosecute. Criminal fraud charges out of the NY civil trial alone would put him and his dumb and dumber sons behind bars for decades… and they might still go after Dumb and Dumber regardless. And the civil trials are just beginning. Once the rest (which is everybody he’s ever had business dealings with) come to the conclusion he’s of no further use to them, they’ll swarm with lawsuits to get their cut before the carcass is picked clean. There will be no Trump Inc left, not even in name. And is all because he chose to run for President and so bring everything he’s ever done or does into the light where nobody could ignore it, even those who deliberately chose to ignore it and wish they still could. He had more power and protection when he was just a corrupt billionaire than he ever would as President. The man’s a f***in’ idiot.

He is a business man after all and to get to that position, I'm sure he would have bullied, blackmailed and stepped on peoples toes. Same as most in his position I dare say. All I know is that he was President of the USA and he did a pretty good job of it. That kind of power could have been disastrous for the world, had he been a tyrant or megalomaniac. And I believe his performance in that role will likely excuse his previous business dealings. Just my opinion. He is wanting to run again, and a significant portion of the USA public wants him to run again, so that should tell you how they feel about him.

Most Aussies are smarter ..... But not all of us. I wish I was right as often as you are wrong. And to be clear, that would make me right close to 100% of the time.

+xHad be been a tyrant and a megalomaniac.... one of your best retrospective mocks ever. I'm not quite sure what you guys expect from the US president. Seriously? He's there to serve the interests of the US people. It's the same for most leaders of democratic countries. I have friends in the US who aren't mugs and are full of praise for Trump. More so than Biden and Obama before him. My friend's wife is also African American and still thinks Trump has been the best Pres since Clinton. Americans aren't all stupid. In fact I'd say they are more smarter (on average) than Aussies.

The guy's whole life is one long toddler temper tantrum, it's all about him, screw everyone else and I mean everyone. He does worship Putin, because he has the same attitude. Idiots make a mess of the world, history should have taught us that. The American education system is terrible.... yes the top 10% is good, but it is a train wreck after that.

However there certainly are diamonds in the rough and because there are so many Americans there are many that are on a higher and lower scale.
If you look at what each president did for the people and economy over their time in power Obama has been the greatest in many years and Trump easily the worst.
Americans are easily persuaded and many are as passionate and blind for their political party’s as they are for Jesus, Guns and Freedom. We are unfortunately following suit but fortunately there is still hope. Our lazy and easy going nature though will likely be our downfall.

I think we are rather fortunate we are distant from most parts of the world and surrounded by poor yet content communities like Polynesia etc. Compared to them, we look like the more advanced bigger brother. But had we been near Europe or North America, we'd be found out quick smart. I don't think we are necessarily lazy, but rather more content, less knee jerky and risk averse. Being conservative means you don't suffer pitfalls as often, but at the same time, you can miss out on opportunity. Some backgrounds are more daring than others.

We are certainly conservative when it comes to making big decisions, we dislike change. It’s one of the reasons we don’t keep up with the rest of the Western world. Like you say our distance is also a reason. It’s both a help and hindrance to our advancement. But it also saves us from jumping in and wasting resources on things that we see fail around the globe. It can be seen as a smart way to future proof ourselves.
I think what we both haven’t touched on is our very small population compared to the US. Our lack of habitable land because of the vast desert hasn’t helped growth. As you mention the vast distance from Europe and the US means there is less immigration. Despite this we are still a very smart country. With a greater population, especially with more people from Asia that should only increase.

Where I do agree Marki. Is the Higher Education establishment in the US. Some of the greatest universities in the world are in the States. It’s where they have great opportunities.

I think that golf club in Melb should allow Dictator Dan to join on the proviso he wears a mask, plays in a group of one, stays 1,5 holes behind the group in front, and is injected with an experimental drug every 6 holes…

+xI think that golf club in Melb should allow Dictator Dan to join on the proviso he wears a mask, plays in a group of one, stays 1,5 holes behind the group in front, and is injected with an experimental drug every 6 holes… And he must putt with the flag in, not touch it, no raking of the bunkers and he can't swap playing cards.....
