+x+xI think that golf club in Melb should allow Dictator Dan to join on the proviso he wears a mask, plays in a group of one, stays 1,5 holes behind the group in front, and is injected with an experimental drug every 6 holes… And he must putt with the flag in, not touch it, no raking of the bunkers and he can't swap playing cards..... Two holes to flatten the curve.. 72 holes later… Can’t wait for the press release about how club members are negatively impacting his family…

Some may think this as surprising than Sutherland Shire drivers using their blinkers (believe me nothing is ) but I believe Hayze Perham has the makings of a really good fullback, This try is evidence but I do think he has speed is good under a hight ball and can marshall defences...confidence may be a problem but if that can be built I wouldn't drop him any time soon. Most-watched tries of 2023: Perham finds JAC | Bulldogs

+xClandestine… So do these legacy media hack grub presstitute Germoulists need a dictionary, or are we happy to concede they are flat out liars about almost everything???… It's clandestine coz Gus has a long term contract with us, and it's illegal for AFB to be used as a carrot to lure Gus to his new club.....

Mockstra, would you sign AFB to a 4 or 5 year deal if it ensured he signed with us, or would you stick to your 2 year only deal and miss out???…

Doubt he alone can get us into finals. Need huge improvement by alot of players in this team.

Thank God the Aus Cricket Teams new sponsor Toyota’s manufacturing process, and keeping it up and running on the road doesn’t require electricity, gas, oil, or any digging….

So what is the vibe for 2024?
Most experts would say that we are short of middle forwards, but stronger in most other positions then 2023.
I like the fact that we want to develop forwards and are giving some young guys a shot.

I rate Connor Tracey, but the signing is almost overkill.
Seems like we will sign quality where we can get it....
Halves, fullback, centres, wings, lock, utilities, lots of options.
Will depth in other areas help cover our lack of middles?
Can we get KO playing regular NRL, and in what position?
Hard to get a read on this season, especially the unknown unknowns that are unknown.

I like the fact that we want to develop forwards and are giving some young guys a shot. Funny thing is I don’t see “most experts” talking about our front row… they like a few vocal and no nothing supporters\germoulists are too busy bagging Gus to make a reasonable assessment…. Let’s not even mention who is/was actually available.. let’s not mention that there is probably stuff going on behind closed doors which we don’t know, or as fans even hand a right to know… That said… Yeah we need a prop… The pathways are critical to long term success for us as we aren’t one of the glamour clubs with DG paper bags… The vibe for me is positive… Amer can’t possibly have the bad luck we had with injuries last year, another off season for the key players together, a great signing in Critter and some signings in Curran, Mann, Tracey, Taffe and others. Burto hopefully better with his 2nd year (at 5/8) syndrome behind him… and some decent choices in the halves…

I like the fact that we want to develop forwards and are giving some young guys a shot. I tend to agree that we are lacking props. Compare us to almost any other team and we are most likely the worst in that area. What really worried me is the team list I looked at when we last made finals. We had Tolman, Graham, Kasiano and Klemmer. Now we have guys that are reserve graders playing front row.
So the only way to win would be to speed up the tempo of the game and use smaller more mobile props. It’s not something I would do but I wouldn’t be surprised if Ciro is going to attempt that tactic. As a coach you have to work with what you have.
If we can still out score opposition teams with a game plan that negates our lack of go forward and most likely field position we can possibly win the comp. But I would be very surprised if that worked.

For me the Tracy signing was one of the better ones. He is a hard running fullback that slits straight in there and keeps Crichton at centre. He gives us a much stronger team. The others are more overkill and some probably not needed.
Our lack of middles as I said many times is our downfall. Once we get a good prop rotation we will play finals again regularly.
KO out fir a long time. If he comes back he probably will want to play in the backs.

If we can still out score opposition teams with a game plan that negates our lack of go forward and most likely field position we can possibly win the comp. But I would be very surprised if that worked. I think that we will be relying on tempo, grit, execution, completions and kicking game. Holding up the attacker in goal is sufficient to prevent a try ,defending the tryline is possible with grit, energy and teamwork. In 2023 we had too many silly dropped balls then a lack of grit energy and teamwork in defence. Guys like Hughes, Patolo and KK have a bit of size, we have some other relative unknowns with a bit of size .But the defence will be partially dependent on small high workrate defenders working hard and working together, In attack, kicking game, ball movement and speed can partially compensate for a lack of yards. Good coaching is always using what you have, also improving what we have and getting what we need. Since we haven't been able to sign a good middle, we need to get the most out of what we have.
