+x+xDallas was a gun player for us, once medicine fully gets up to speed on concussion, I'm not sure how they can modify the game to make it safe. I didn't read it due to the pay-wall, the jist was something about petty theft. As for Pangai Jnr, he's shaping up for a marquee contract from next year. 2 teams are in the running for his signature - the broncos...and you guessed it...the favourites to sign him....the roosters... This link isn't on a pay-wall : https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6862291/NRL-legend-1million-contract-caught-stealing-board-shorts.html

+xI remember the days when we were 1 point wonders. People called it excitement footy. I called it the downfall of a great club if our winning margin was down to 1 point on a weekly basis. And hereth we are. Can barely score any points. Yeh, really?...I remember a lot were calling it as a downfall and that we were lucky to be where we were on the ladder. We had like three one point wins in a row by field goals. Then SteveNFI started arguing with everyone and defending the team and arguing that there was nothing wrong with our team and that everyone was ungrateful for our victories, when we could all see the demise. He couldn't hack it so he started to make fun of my then user name DrewBou and being arrogant and rude right on that IanC level.

Yes no surprise the Roosters are bidding for TPJ. The NRL must think the public are mugs when they claim the salary caps is evening up the competition., His very dare you accuse the NRLol of not policing the cap approximately... They have $68 million to spend after releasing fergo... Oh and TPJ has offered to play for nothing just to be a rooster...

And hereth we are. Can barely score any points. Des inherited a good squad - minus some halves. Des then proceeded with options like Reynolds and Mbye in the halves ... we defended well and were able to grind out 1 point wins .. but the team slowly trended downhill. Now we finally have decent halves, but are missing the rest of the team... our defence is very ordinary, and has to be fixed to win any games. But if we can get the defence to 90% of what it was in the DesBall era we will win a lot more games, and be much more enjoyable to watch. Overall prefer this team, I just want to sack Joe Williams, and get a real defensive coach... :) .....(joke..... it isn't Joe ????....)

I remember him being the only NRL player I was 100% sure was a way worse defender than me.... On a good day I might be on par with Soward :) EDIT:: A Witches Hat would have made more tackles, than Joe.

+xMarki.... what I don’t understand is why the fekk are we paying a fekking cent for Klemmer????This dog wanted out for more money, the club bent over..... surely any sports administrator would have said to Newcastle “He’s yours at full freight” & we will not contribute a bloody centI thought the number for Mbye would have been around the $150k mark. I’d say the same for Woods. So if we are contributing around 500k to pay for Mbye, Woods to play at other clubs..... again I ask, how is our current team worth $9mill???? I agree wholeheartedly. They are definitely not worth that much. But I struggle to make sense that if our average guys are on backhanded deals (like Eastwood etc last year) then who the hell was on 1.5M in the Des era? I was under the impression that at one stage TRex was our highest contract at 600k a year. The numbers never stacked up to me. Unless we had all of our top 30 on minimum 300k, it still falls short.

We certainly look better in attack which is a plus in my book regardless of wins or losses. But sooner or later, we need to convert this better play to results otherwise it looks like a poorer gamestyle to Desball. Tye potential is there, we just seem to make new schoolboy mistakes every week. Need to be smarter.

https://www.bulldogs.com.au/news/2019/03/29/dean-pay-extends-his-contract-with-the-bulldogs-by-a-further-12-months/I hope we can rack up a few wins and make this look like a good decision. I fully understand the salary cap situation and the relative merits of our squad, so we need to cut Dean some slack, the flip-side is the team must look well prepared and be on an improving trend. So like all NRL coaches, results matter, job security is a myth.

+xI’m not fussed either way about Pay getting another 12months. I think it’s fair. Same here villi... Its as much about the perception of stability for the players as anything else... Pay put his entire head coaching future at stake taking the job and deserves our backing for that alone... Plus he signed when he though incompetent Dib&co may have been in charge still... Very bold... I'd have preferred to have waited until rnd 8ish, but at the end of the day, pay wouldn't be on much so a pay out to secure the likes of a Bellamy or Holbrook if they were to become available is not a big deal... Cmon lads let's break the duck this week!!!...

Justin Holbrook was my preferred pick last year and will be next if things don't improve.

+xI’m not fussed either way about Pay getting another 12months. I think it’s fair. I am. I see no benefit in him getting months extra so early in the season. What purpose other job security for Pay does it serve? This is a black mark on the current administration. They have been good to date but have fallen for the same mistake we have done in the past. So if we end up near last this season, we write it off as a salary cap ridden season. Next year if we start with a 0 and 5 record, do we sack Pay and pay him out, or do we finish another sesson poorly and seek a new coach in 2021? There was absolutely nothing to be gained by re-signing Pay so early. Nothing. Poor decision in my opinion. I question whether we've learnt anything. Unless the administration quietly emailed me to tell me we are chasing a Bellamy or Robertson for 2021, it makes no sense to me at all.
