This is the leader of the free world....and proof positive again my belief that any idiot can have (but should not) have free access to social media...and I am definitely generalising. If you have ever seen the movie "Being There" featuring Steve Martin it is about a person with low IQ and no real world experience being elected US president. Truth is stranger than fiction, "Chancy Gardener" looks like a towering intellectual in comparison..... I'm not sure how we all decided the world would run better with idiots in charge, perhaps the problem is only idiots go into politics. HD with all respect, the guy runs the most powerful country and has done so quite well. Calling him an idiot should outlawed as much as I cant call an autistic kid a sp..... or a gay a p.... If PC is to be adopted across this site, it should apply to all. No only an idiot would think it ok to use the term "spastic" to insult someone. FULL STOP. If you want to go into the ins and outs of it I will but gee you say some idiotic things at times Marki and this is perhaps the one that takes the cake. If you want to do something google "RATING THE US PRESIDENTS" I came across this by accident and guess where Trump rates in every list. 45th...and how many have there been?...Will give you a clue...a little less than 46 Actually Steve, if you look up the definition of spastic you'll realise it is to do with the act of having a muscle spasm - hence the name.....you guessed it - spastic. Just because the word has been used to refer to Down Syndrome people or people with reduced motor skills in the past, it doesn't mean you are denigrating the above people if you call an abled body person a spastic if they have a spastic moment. Once again it is a clear case of political correctness gone too far. What next? We cant say "I'm having a gay day" without offending them people? Ahhh yeah, it does matter... Context is everything... I look at some these players like Tedesco, Ponga and Tuivasa-scheck and am amazed at how their knees and ankles stand up to all the sidestepping,speed and direction changes. It just looks like somethings got to break down

After retiring he died young at 45 from a rare disease, shame as he was a real champ who deserved a better ending.

I'm not sure how we all decided the world would run better with idiots in charge, perhaps the problem is only idiots go into politics. Norm was a mate of mine...he lived up the street from me. Great kid...a couple of years older than me and smart as they come (we had a lot in common there!). But life had not been entirely kind to Norm...he was born with quite a severe deformity. He was badly hunchbacked and misshapen and short. It didn't matter to me and it didn't matter to my mates I first met at high school who also became Norm's mates. Norm would try anything...cricket...we played in the backyard for hours and when we were both preteen we started tennis.It didn't matter that Norm was not much good ...we didn't care and we just had fun, and hell he tried.. But there were some out there who for whatever reason sought to denigrate Norm...why? He could be a bit of a smart arse at times but weren't we all. But there were those who just chose to be mean for the sake of it...anyway one day we were walking home from our tennis lesson and a kid called out from a house we were passing..."Hey look at the spaz". I saw something then I had never seen before and it was a look in Norm's eyes of the utmost hurt imaginable. I continued walking but Norm didn't and the stupid kid probably even had a moment of regret as Norm hoed into him with his tennis racket. I guess in reality at the time we realised Norm may not live a long life...and sadly he didn't. He was a Bulldogs' fan..I guess Berries fan...but alas he only made it to 25 and died the same week Steve Mortimer played his first game at Leichhardt Oval. I visited him in hospital...I went to the game on my own as my mate couldn't. I told him we would see this great new player in a couple of weeks but I knew it was never to be. He lived a fairly happy life but I was there to see that moment when sadness and overwhelming pain showed in the eyes of my mate.
So I am not being nasty or picky or politically correct when I say that calling someone a spastic is just beyond the realms of decency and I can personally say I witnessed that first hand.
I am sure Marki has not walked in those shoes but believe me had he done so the remotest thought of ever using that word would be driven away forever.

An amazing girl... Her parents successfully fought tooth and nail for her to be the first person with Down Syndrome to attend a certain public school in Newcastle after they refused admission. The school and other children were better for it... Not that I'm religious in anyway, my standard line is 'but for the grace if God there walks I"...
