Newcastle are travelling like busted arses and the Dogs are building into something special.........I wonder if Klemmer is beginning to regret his decision to leave us for the knights. Oh well, his loss.

+xNorm was a mate of mine...he lived up the street from me. Great kid...a couple of years older than me and smart as they come (we had a lot in common there!). But life had not been entirely kind to Norm...he was born with quite a severe deformity. He was badly hunchbacked and misshapen and short. It didn't matter to me and it didn't matter to my mates I first met at high school who also became Norm's mates. Norm would try anything...cricket...we played in the backyard for hours and when we were both preteen we started tennis. It didn't matter that Norm was not much good ...we didn't care and we just had fun, and hell he tried.. But there were some out there who for whatever reason sought to denigrate Norm...why? He could be a bit of a smart arse at times but weren't we all. But there were those who just chose to be mean for the sake of it...anyway one day we were walking home from our tennis lesson and a kid called out from a house we were passing..."Hey look at the spaz". I saw something then I had never seen before and it was a look in Norm's eyes of the utmost hurt imaginable. I continued walking but Norm didn't and the stupid kid probably even had a moment of regret as Norm hoed into him with his tennis racket. I guess in reality at the time we realised Norm may not live a long life...and sadly he didn't. He was a Bulldogs' fan..I guess Berries fan...but alas he only made it to 25 and died the same week Steve Mortimer played his first game at Leichhardt Oval. I visited him in hospital...I went to the game on my own as my mate couldn't. I told him we would see this great new player in a couple of weeks but I knew it was never to be. He lived a fairly happy life but I was there to see that moment when sadness and overwhelming pain showed in the eyes of my mate. So I am not being nasty or picky or politically correct when I say that calling someone a spastic is just beyond the realms of decency and I can personally say I witnessed that first hand. I am sure Marki has not walked in those shoes but believe me had he done so the remotest thought of ever using that word would be driven away forever. Steve, firstly apologies for incorrectly referencing you below instead of Dman. Sad story you brought up, and believe me, I wouldnt call or denigrate someone like Norm. Not my style. When I used the term (or still use it) is when able bodied people have a spaz attack - under its true meaning. I could call them unco and sometimes do, but spastic or spaz comes to me first probably due to its Greek origins.

Oh well, his loss. Sucked in to him! We probably wont fare much better but we don't have their roster which includes one of the hottest young prospects in the game. You would think Nathan Brown will be under immense pressure to keep his job this year...

Oh well, his loss. They've been in most games, have obviously looked a hell if a lot better with Ponga at FB... Klemmer has been enormous for them.... I'm not counting chickens yet, because after today we could still be level pegging...

Marki...American culture probably uses the word but to be honest they are in many ways fekked. As we are products of the British Culture accept the word is taboo. Not only sometimes but in any situation. And besides if you continue to use it you are equating yourself with Ray Hadley. Enough said.

+xCmon boys!!!!... An effort like last week would be great, a win even better... Go Dogs!!!!! A win would be a boost. Regardless, I'll settle for a good performance, and the team to keep building our style. My concern is we come up short for a few more weeks, then the team loses confidence, drifts away from our style or becomes lose in defence. I hope we can stick with this style, as it is great to watch, and IMO gives us the best chance of winning with the team we have.

+xLike Dman.... I’m not religious.... but one thing I’ve always stood by is a saying.... from Coolio “As I walked thru the valley of the shadow of death” ”I take look at my life & realise there’s nothing left” “Coz I’ve been blastin’ & laughin’ so long” ”Even my mama thinks that my mind is gone” I used to watch a daft show called Benidorm. It was a show known for exaggerated stereotypes & dark humour. In one of the earliest eps, the dysfunctional Garvey family were having their holiday in Spain. They had a feral spawn teen daughter around age 15 or 16 along with them. Something along the lines of Vicki Pollard from Little Britain. She was pushing a stroller with a feral spawn of her own when the hotel manager greeted her. Nothing but gruff impatient one syllable know-it-all responses as you could imagine. The manager asked to have a peek at the baby & after an awkward moment of silence (the teen was white, the baby was black), the manager asked what the name of the baby was. "Coolio" she said...

C’mon Dogs.... we need a win today!
But.... If we’re gonna lose today.... I hope it’s not off the back of dodgy refs calls.

They are clearly smashing us on the edges
Too many touches by bloody Tolman in attack.
McInnes clearly dominate for them too
Hollands defence..... Just horrendous!

Just not our day so far, Dragons are determined with good line speed.
Just a few errors from us and some bad defence.
Still some hope but we need to score early in the 2nd half.
Early penatlies gave the Dragons some momentum, but some poor misses from Holland.
Let see if we can do better in the 2nd 40.

We defended better against the Storm, Dragons line speed is pressuring our attach. Learning experience for the young guys.
