+xI'm still flabbergasted an eye gouge is only a fine... The NRLol crap on about the image of the game, put policy in place for off field allegations, but no more than a slap on the wrist for an on field disgrace... For mine there is no more despicable act that what happened to Munster... #todd&comustgo... #dismantlethearlc... I agree. The process seems overly dependent on the player making a complaint, but in this case there is good video evidence.

+x+x+x+xThat was complete rubbish. I know young teams find it hard to back up performances but the errors they made were schoolboy even though that's an insult to schoolboys. Meaney was the only back that could hold his head high. The forwards weren't great but the backs were woeful. Too many players that will never be consistent 1st graders like Holland are in the team. Maybe some players got ahead of themselves. Now it's back to the hard work and earning the right to say something to the press.....Dragons done them like a dinner. We are so fragile but that is explained by their inexperience and lack of physical and mental toughness. At the risk of offending some (lol) Holland is a most frustrating player. Some games you see the full potential and think he is building to a very successful career in the mould of Farrar, Louie Mortimer etc and then next game either not seen or terrible inept defence. Luckily against Souths he is due to make amends. Most gsmes Holland rushes up misses tackles and other players cover. But we also saw him make good 1 on 1 tackles against the Storm wgen set or scrambling. I think that the biggest problem is decision making, not technique. HD.... we have way too many nice guys in our team, especially in the backline that do NOT intimidate any opposition Napa is a start.... to the type of aggressive players this team needs ASAP As for Holland’s defence.... I still can’t believe Ravalawa scored his Try after stumbling 10m out then carried Holland over on his back.... horrible defensive player. Morris bros were nice guys but made good decisions in defence and had good technique. We do lack size and intimidation in the middle without Napa. Short term we need to get more out of Odgen / Smith. Storm dominated us up the middle, Dragons and Warriors overpowered us. We need to start well and have more aggression in the middle. It is the one area where I want players rushing up. We were too passive against the Dragons. I don't necessarily want Holland rushing up, outside defenders should be working together.

But Seriously, that is the most least intimidating bunch of forwards in the NRL Yes that is the problem, we need to play with tempo and execution to cover a lack of size / aggression. Anyway the players do know how to play, they did it in rounds 3 and 4 also partially in round 2.

Shouldn't be up to the "receiver" to make a formal complaint and they don't want to have to attend the tribunal hearing. A very low act from a serial offender (3 charges). Burgess got 4 weeks didn't he in a Test against NZ.

If we had kept the Morris Bros results would have been better, but perhaps we can;t hit the same peak in a few years as we haven't developed the talent, or don't have the cap space. If anything perhaps we have taken too big a gamble, but we did look good against the Storm, Napa and Foran both being out injured is bad when we already have a skinny squad. Pay and the recruitment committee are responsible for the punt and own the result.. If we can strengthen a few areas before June 30 without compromising our future plans we should do so. We do have a weak squad, but if the coach and young players can get some good wins in this circumstance it is a good result. This year is all about building for the future. That is why I would not put money on even with us $150 to win the comp, it will take a minor miracle to make the semis this year. As fans we simply need to enjoy the wins when they come and also some of the losses that are good performances. We also have to hope the young players make progress.

I would stick with Okunbor as he has potential. He is relatively new to playing on the wing, so has a bit to learn in terms of catching bombs and defensive positioning, But he is great at making yards which is something our team needs. If Harper is ready for NRL I would pick him and move Holland to the bench in pace of Lichaa, That is the only change I would make, Martin deserves another chance but needs to work on ball security and defensive positioning. What happens when you lose the fight in the middle is the edge back rowers get sucked into making tackles in the middle and you are then short on the edges. That is actually how I think most games are won. Odgen was good, but without Napa we are lacking some size and defensive work rate. I'm not going to watch a replay, once was enough, but I did notice Martin making a lot of tackles in the middle, Odgen also showed a bit of inexperience in not slowing up the play the ball enough. When we get Renouf T fit it might help our forward rotation.... I know people say we have a lot of forwards, but we are lacking a quality starting prop and I'm not sure Martin will cut it as a starting 2nd rower. We also need more punch off the bench. A good quality NRL centre would also be handy. It is very hard for young inexperienced halves to play well when the forwards are being dominated and the outside backs are making poor defensive decisions, But I like what I've seen so far from Lewis, Cogger, Meaney and to some extent from JMK. We need to give the young spine more support and also more time to learn the game.

Translation...... He won’t take his 1.5mill from the Salary Cap, but we’ll look after him under this BS program

As expected the defensive stats for Holland & Okunbor against the Dragons were terrible... I check against the Storm, Holland & Okunbor were OK, but didn't have to do much.... Most opposition coaches are going to test us on that side in coming weeks, we need a solution and fast...

Watching it live I wasn't impressed with Martin, but the stats are good enough to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. if we had SBW, Thurston, Asotasi and Bob McCarthy running around in reserve grade I would be making more changes. I saw about 15 mins of last weeks reserve grade Harper seems to be making progress. if Sue has to sit out 2 weeks Danny F or RFM will come back in, outside of these 3 names no one else in reserve grade looks remote ready for NRL. We are 2 injuries away from Grimaldi getting a run :)

Havent watched the game, but all I can say is that we are in for a very rocky and patience-testing ride.
We need to learn from our mistakes and hopefully not repeat them. Need to bank wins on the good performances like last week.
We dont have players in key spine positions that can change our gamestyle or the momentum of a game when it is needed. Until we have this, we will not be a contender, we will not be top 4.
We cant just prepare and rock up with a gameplan. We have to go out with a gameplan but change it based on circumstances to give us a better chance to win. This is what separates the good teams from the bad.
This could take an easy 5 years to do.

Attn: Bulldogs Recruitment Team
The team desperately needs Aggressive & Skilful players to complement the youthful pups we’ve already got....
All I need is about $2m from our salary cap...
Addin Fonua Blake $500k (an aggressive beast) Katoni Staggs $250k (aggressive, speedy) Braidon Burns $250k (skilful, speedy) Any No.9 $XXXk (anyone with vision)
The above is a must, but a couple of left field choices I believe would also add something to the team as well as depth:-
Tyronne Roberts $250k (great kicking game) Ben Hampton $200k (versatile player from winning culture)
All the above (except Roberts) have plenty of years ahead of them & I believe would take our teams to the next level

While we are raiding Souths - Tom Amone is also good. So I would go 50/50 established NRL players and fringe NRL players. I recommend watching Souths reserve grade and seeing how those 2 player I mentioned go, I would expect both to star against our reserve grade, until they do it at NRL level, it isn't 100% proven.
