+x+xTom Starling has been my #1 pick for hooker all year. Last night, he would have made his harshest critics ear their words. I would seriously offer him a 3 year deal worth 1.5M coz he looks like he can change the way we play and if you read earlier posts from myself and Zef, you'll understand why. Tom Starling just signed a 2 year extension at Canberra. Phaaarrrkkkkk!

Credit to Tamau at the judiciary hearing for Thompson.... he’s clearly playing it down the eye gouge, no injury, no nothing with regard to playing on....
So I expect Thompson will get a life sentence

So who the fvck is this Peter McGrath. He appears to have made his mind up even before the judiciary convened that he is holding Thompson guilty. Has the cvnt ever played the game. He said to Thompson " You must have know that you had your fingers in his eye and applying pressure.... not that I'm saying that it was deliberate". Well yeah that to me is accusing him of a deliberate action.

I know each time Dman races into a Dan Murphy’s... he has the same action as ‘Pigeon’ McGrath racing in from the Randwick St end

To say he was playing for a penalty when he would or should have known what would ensue is unconvincing.

Mdog, I agree. If Tamau thought there was nothing in it and he wasn't affected by the tackle then why say anything to the ref. He knows quite well that the judiciary will disect every micro millisecond of that tackle until they can pin something on Thompson. They have already stated that if is not found intentional, then they will look to see if it was reckless and if that is overturned they will see if it is deemed careless and so on, and on ,and on.....

Burgess & that Canberra player that eye gouged was 5 times worse Kangaroo court....his hand accidentally came in gentle contact with an area near Tamou's eyes without any evidence of any malice on ill intent. It was an accident but NRL is so politically motivated to not give credence to that possibility. If there is any possibility to appeal it should be made and this stated.

Any respect I had for Tamau has disappeared. Pretty harsh way of trying to milk a penalty, get a bloke rubbed out for 4 weeks.

He had plenty of time to pull his fingers away and didnt. It wasn't initially intentional in my opinion but I'm pretty sure thommo figured out where his fingers were and thought he'd apply some pressure while they were there. He will deservedly cop afew weeks and we will all move on. Hopefully he learns to pull his fingers away as soon as he feels they are in an eye socket, next time....

There’s no doubt the hand comes into contact with his eye.... super slo-mo, makes it look extremely ugly. Comments from Fwit Ikin didn’t help

I think there is a credibility gap between Tamou's mouth and his actions. I may be wrong but I didn't see Tamou show any concern for his eye when the incident occurred, nor did he attempt to show any injury or discomfort to the referee or a trainer. Because of this I don't believe the fingers exerted any force on the eye socket. The action of his mouth were strong and calculated.

+xHow many clubs would sack their player of the year Is this in regards to Foran? If so, he wasn't sacked.

It was tongue in cheek...you do have to ask to what depths they went to try and secure a deal....incentives...it just was stated simplistically...we offered a one year deal and he wanted more.

It was tongue in cheek...you do have to ask to what depths they went to try and secure a deal....incentives...it just was stated simplistically...we offered a one year deal and he wanted more. I think we have moved on. The club wants a half that can organise the team, hence we went for Green, price was probably a big factor. With multiple bidders Foz was probably hanging out for the deal he wanted, price and duration. I he was happy to sign for 1 year for around the same money as Green it might have ended differently. Same deal with the Tommo suspension, we need to accept reality and get on with preparations for 21. Perhaps Tommo is unlucky, but 4 weeks will soon pass. I think we probably need to sign another prop unless we have a good young prospect. Elliott is coming back from injury, Odgen and Toomaga are still adapting to longer minutes and a bigger role. We can move Jackson to the middle, that is overdue. We should have a few more quality players joining the club, new coach, new season, rip into the off season and start 21 on the front foot. About time we had a good start to a season, I don't remember the last one...

Funny thing is steve, Foran knocked back a one year deal from us because he wanted longer and yet accept one year offer from the sheagles. WTF is that the thanks we get for throwing him a lifeline and putting up with his injury prone game.

I hope.

When they say it isn't about the money they mean "it is about the money"...I would have been offering an incentive based on number of games he could play. I do think he has a lot to offer but evidence suggests he cannot escape injury and the style of his play is certainly a contributing if not main factor

I'm just disappointed that we have no spark in any of our spine positions. Hookers are coming and going and yet seem oblivious to them. Hope TB knows what hes doing.....

I’m hoping we’re waiting to see what Cam Smith decides to do then pounce on either a disgruntled Grant or B Smith... I can hope can’t I???...
