Anyway, good discussion as it has got us all thinking about the rules and off a GF where one of the participants is one of the most detested teams from a Bulldog supporters point of view.

The thing is with all them tackles you talk of, none of them carry an automatic 200 pt judiciary appearance.

And that's the rod the NRL have made for their own back by over reacting.

The one with certainty is that The NRL will realise the rod they've made and quietly change the rule for next season so all future shoulder charges will not attract an automatic grading and judiciary appearance but will be dealt with on their own merits, like all the other foul plays acts.

^^^ that's what they do... Knee-jerkers... Majority of rule changes in the last 10 years have been very poorly considered...
Bloody locky coming out and saying the shoulder charge rule wasnt meant for Billy's tackle... Yeah well buddy, should a considered that while you were on the panel who recommended/implemented the rule...

Not as far as I know. I guess it's due his status, stage of his career & biggest match of the year that it's being given the time of day.

I was going to watch episode 8 of Better Call Saul but that blog has been a fascinating read with dubious lawyers of their own in action.

Villi, I overheard in a coffee shop that Dutchie gained the extra yard of pace from escaping dman's debaucherous advances. He was frequently running down the side of his house & jumping over the back fence to get away. Eventually he incorporated that very maneuver on the field, running down the sideline & jumping over the try line...

I know what you mean. They'd sure make a good pair of used car salesmen doing a corny ad with a jingle.

What surprises me is many hearings are dismissed within 10 mins, as reported the following morning, this one's gone for an hour & 40 already & if there's one I ever thought would be hurried out the door this was it..

7.42pm: Judiciary chairman Geoff Bellew has asked panel members to consider the following.

1. Was there forceful contact with the shoulder or upper arm? Bellew says if your answer is no, then he is not guilty.

If you answer yes you need to consider:
2. Was the forceful contact made without Slater using or attempting to use both his arms including his hands to tackle or otherwise take hold of the opposing player

I read that as not guilty...

That's my suggestion for off season sprint training a VR world where Dman is chasing each player and gaining fast.

Watch our team run like the wind next season and never look back .😁

I'd run down lichaa pretty quick... ;)

So the NRL will look pretty stupid if they suspend him now......
