Speaking of a Marki post....let's revisit one of my pet hates..... traffic rules and the ever obsession with slowing down traffic in the hope it decreases fatalities.....

I noticed the other day driving past All Saints primary school in Liverpool that it is now a 30 zone. And theres a fixed speed camera on Bigge St. 

Why not just make it a fekking 10 zone and really decrease the risk meanwhile filling the coffers with revenue dollars? 

All in the name of safety they say?

Why dont they just sign me up for direct debit every month and take my money. 

The reality is, I drive safer and more comfortable with eyes on the fekking road at 80kms/hr - in fact I reckon most cars and people do. 

Vary their speed from 80 to 40 to 60 to 80 and you see all sorts of crazy, careless shit. 

Lower speed means more time watching Speedo and less time watching road.  Speed limits are necessary but need to be sensible and not constantly changing with little purpose.

I watched it again this morning. This time I noticed the pass/badge pinned on the guy on the right. The date on it is clearly Oct 25. That's before JAC saying he would be staying in Melb for another year (or being told by Storm they wont cancel his contract). Whether there was any truth in the vid or not remains to be seen, but now it all seems irrelevant either way. Still time for anything to happen, so who knows, but doesn't seem likely now.

And what about the knuckleheads that drive "safely" 10km/h below the posted speed limit. They're the cvnts that scare me while I'm driving. That means 20 km/h through Marki's Liverpool zone.

It's only my guess - Oct 25 on some kind of pass to a restricted area - could well have been prior to or even after the grand final on that day.

Unless he’s absolutely stupid enough to get himself on film outside the bubble.... again.... which I don’t discount, but let’s assume he’s not... barely... then it has to be post bubble which’d be post last Thursday at the earliest I’d think.

I used to agree mate. But if you read the study’s and follow the directions limiting speed to correct levels avoids the most fatalities. It’s a balancing act. It’s also why the extra training is encouraged for young drivers. That also ensures less collisions. 

The best way to stop speeding is having cop cars visible and driving on the road, not parked behind bushes waiting for one person speeding excessively to issue a large fine...

Whilst trying to avoid racial labelling let me say I don't like driving through Hurstville. Twice in recent times drivers have gone left (on one occasion about 18 inches) in order to turn right..I have no problems with school zones even if you have to question some such as the school on King Georges Road near the turn off to Oatley which has two metre high fences all along the edge of the road and a covered in overhead pedestrian crossing. I too wonder about those who drive 10k under...perhaps they think their car may have a faulty speedo? BUT they are definitely no teenage girls with a red P plate.

None of us know & we can only speculate. So my guess was grand final day because of the date Oct 25 on the guys front, plus the inevitable security process with entry to restricted areas, hence the requirement of a visible pass. Obviously not just anyone can walk into restricted areas but that doesn't mean that guy is security, he could be anyone that happened to have a pass granting him entry. Also the venue visible - high ceiling, large scale lighting, everything seemed like it was ANZ stadium & that was the time most were anxious to see what JAC would be doing for 21 with so many reports & rumors around. All that hype is dead now since the Storm said he's not being released. 

Having said that (my guess), I've learnt my lessons more than once the hard way - not everything that looks like a duck, walks like a duck & quacks like a duck - is a duck.
