The coaching I believe is poor .. Barrett good assistant but not a first grade coach..Defensively it has been horrible no urgency or coordination..

Wakeham didn't player reserve grade.
I hope he isn't injured or Lewis can cone back..

Also no Topine in reserve grade.

And another two forward passes for a try. Honestly the quicker they get the technology to pick these up the better, because when a team gets away with it once they exploit it as they know the ref will not call them.

Chris Smith, Waddell & Elliott..... is that not the worst backrow ever seen

It may not have made any difference to the result but the officials have to start watching the game more carefully. The amount of forward passes that the Flagons got away with is a very concerning statistic.

Katoa, Ellott and Chris Smith 5-6 missed tackles.

That stupid kick from Flanagan,  when were on top us the primary reason why we lost.
Our props weren't the problem, they were our better players.

Elliott's defence is disappointing this year.

If Topine and Wakeham are fit I would be considering them.

We well and truly deserved to lose, 5-6 players can hold their head high the rest were pathetic.

The Dragons were not that great, if we played like that against the Storm or Panthers, it would have been ugly. 

Good news in press conference guys were pulled from the Mounties  game due to Covid rules.

Baz is at last focused on team selection, he needs to get that right for us to be any chance.

Nathan Brown suggested that they were beaten by players who think on their feet.
Do the Dogs have any who can do that?
None that I have seen. 

Our forwards particularly the props, out played their opposite numbers.

That is the excuse for the spine players put to bed.

I am happy with Averillo at 6.

DWZ is one dimensional at fullback, running hard is great, but we saw how effective it was.
Katoa at 9 has had one good game.
Flanagan managed a good game round 1, since then he hasn't managed 5 good minutes.
The defence was poor particularly the right edge.

However, would focus on the spine.

I hope Lewis and Allan are ok, both taken hospital.
Lewis got a very minor dose off knees in the back, that shows how dangerous it can be.
Allan unlucky, but it was a nothing play, we invited them to bundle him into touch.

I still prefer Wakeham and Averillo in the halves, they need to impose themselves on a game, but both are footy players.
Meaney should be fullback.
I prefer  Topine/Dietz combination at hooker.
Centres and backrowers are an open question, so far no one is impressing.
Atoni and Ava should be the starting props with Thompson at lock.
Like Katoa, Wardell has managed one good game all year.
Wardell seems to drop 2 balls per game, Katoa misses 5 tackles.
If we keep putting up with dumb mistakes, we will keep getting the same results.

It’s pretty clear to see... all our 2021 signings have done & added sweet FA to this football club

Cotric :- Signed prior to T Baz, prior to 2021, he’s was a tackle busting winger that can find the line. Hasn’t helped having the uninterested Floppa inside of him that barely passes the ball to him.... so far he’s a 5/10

Hetherington :- Aggressive prop meant to add much needed grunt up front... 6/10

Flanagan :- hailed our halfback for the next millennium, as HD has said, Rd.1 he was very good, since then, he’s barely run, goes MIA, has a terrible kicking game, can’t remember if he has managed any set restarts/line drop outs... 3/10

Wadell :- we got rid of a heap of plodders in the off season & replaced one with another. He offers nothing. If we thought Elliott had feet for hands, this guy is even worse & it continues to happen killing momentum as he did twice today. Offers NOTHING. 1/10

Allen :- like Flanagan, hailed as our next premier fullback for years to come! He’s been far from it, shunted to the wing then into the centres. Almost 10 rounds in, I think hasn’t scored a try & doesn’t even look like breaking that duck anytime soon. Got man handled today into touch unfortunately, but last week got dragged back 10m after we had a scrum feed.  4/10

The above is an honest assessment so far this season, with many if not all tied to 3yr deals & as well as a decent chunk of our salary cap eaten up. T Baz needs to get more out of them ASAP 

One last thing.... why hasn’t Renouf Atoni been given a contract extension yet?

He’s finally getting the extended minutes on the field & continues to impress!

Atoni should be starting ahead of Chris Smith, Waddell & Elliott

Only Renouf 164m and Thompson 137m made over a hundred meters. Seafood Salad almost there with 94 meters

Compare that to the Dragons. Laurie 144m Vaughn 199m Sims 125m McGuire 122

They made 1928 meters to our 1501.

One of our better forwards and probably needs to start games. But we desperately need meter eating forwards. Rudolph would be a great start. 

Theres gonna be games this year where we arent going to be in it after 5mins.

But games like today, which were there for the taking in the opening 20mins or even the whole of the first half, really needed us to do more rights than wrongs and post points on the scoreboard.

Some scoreboard pressure may have been enough to put self doubt in the Dragons and make them lose the game.

We didnt do that  and sooner rather than later their class was always going to be more than ours. 

We cant afford to not take these opportunities. 
We need to jump to a 10 or 12 point lead and only then we can play conservatively and focus on high completions. 

So I have my NRL team running dead last...

When we had the ball in the Dragons ten and couldn’t put on points it reminded me of every game for the past six years. We haven’t looked good in attack since Ennis left. Mick was never the greatest hooker in the game but he offered so much more than what we have now. B.Smith can’t come soon enough.
