Chris Patolo sure has some impressive lower grade highlights. Hits like Cement, runs like Toamololo…. In the lower grades.
Hope he’s one who can convert because if he does, he’ll scare the shit out of them.

According to club bio, 110kg’s on him at 19 (20 in a few weeks). And not an inch of fat on him.
Please convert. Proto-type middle.

When the club promotes players like him and BBO straight from Flegg to NRL, it is a promising sign.

+x+x+x+x+x How can you say that? How can you possibly think money spent outside the spine is better spent?
Quite easily when it’s already spent. Why not buy Hynes AND then just keep going on FB’s if there’s no money better spent outside the spine. It’s not only the money it’s the roster space, and on outside backs for ‘22, unless there’s further movement we’re full. Even with Hoppa and DWZ and Meaney and you could probably throw a couple more in gone. And do remember also, you would’ve had to bid in excess of $600k for Hynes, not as if it was just money we had down the back of the couch. We don’t have the money, or the space. It’s that simple. I dont understand. I thought we had a war chest. I thought we had a heap of players coming to end of their contracts (at least 8 or 10) at years end. We have 3 known recruits (JAC, Burton and Naden) who will all be in the top 30. By my count, we would need to either resign existing players to fulfill the top 30 commitments, recruit new guys or promote from lower grades. I can understand the top 30 but I would be livid if our current squad is even at 75% of the 9Million cap. If its beyond that I want a complete overhaul of the board. NOW. I can agree with this. This was supposed to be the big year and we just don’t have the players. That may change fit next year but currently even with Burton snd JAC we are unlikely to make the top 12.
If we don’t sign some talent in our spine and our front row the board has failed again. No it wasn’t supposed to be the big year!!!.... no one said that... this year was the most first year we could take a dip after what your mates did to us... This years recruits a decent start... Next years recruitment is looking solid so far with most likely one or two more to come... The other thing several on here like to forget is in most instances it impossible to buy shit hot on contract players... and then the off contract players need to want to come here.. Remember before last year we had the big sell of expected spooners and a coach employed by a bloke trying to save his skin.... I’m pretty sure that the current board said numerous times we would be competing this year at the very least. They would have been correct if they said competing for the spoon.
I’m certainly not a Dib supporter and don’t really care who is in charge if they are doing well. But the excuse for the current poor cap management is not on Dib. It’s on the current board.
I’m just judging the current management. Currently they have signed some decent players. But they have also failed on some of the past signings. Allen, Flanno etc. that’s not on Dibb or any of the past admin. That’s not even on the Anderson’s. That’s on the current lot.
I hope we sign Payne Haas and Brendo Smith in the next few months. That would give me great confidence in the current admin. But until we sign a good to great hooker and prop I’ll have great doubts over our success on and off the field

This was year 1 of the rebuild, 2021 should have been an upgrade on 2020. The team hasn't fired, I'm putting that down to injuries, suspensions and adjusting to the new rules. Baz has made a few mistaskes and some players like Hoppa have gone a long way backwards in a short period of time, others like S. Katoa never had it. My optimistic projection was around 12th, from memory.

+x+x+xSo Broncos release Lodge and will pay 1M of his contract for next 2.5 years to Warriors. They did this to free up money for Capewell. I reckon we need to do the same with Flanagan. It's clear to me he is behind Burton, Averillo, Wakeham and even Lewis. He is probably the highest paid of all those. Club should farm him around and pay up to half his contract out. Use the money for hooker or forward FMD... so now you’re a Broncos supporter in addition to roosters, saints, Parra and Melbourne???... No. I'm a supporter of good decisions. It's all relative Dman.... If the whole league is shit, we just have to be slightly better than shit to be ahead of the pack. But if the whole league is making smart, astute decisions with their roster and improving themselves, we cant judge ourselves on being better than what we were last year. We need to be better than the rest of the league. It's like improving 10% on last years 15th place. It's useless if everyone else improves 20% I can’t believe it but I’m in agreement again. We need to improve our recruitment. Currently there are more misses than hits. Hopefully our recruits change that trend for next year.
Comparing us and the Broncos. I can see both clubs improving with players from the oppositions rosters. Pangai is the perfect mongrel we need in our pack. Haas is the dream but unlikely. Even Milford could be a good fit if played at fullback.

Naden is another option for fullback.
A bit rusty but going ok, dangerous ball runner in space.

Has that gangly long stride, like Peachy or Dugan. He has some pace and is very elusive. Burton as always is just brilliant but was clearly out of position in the centre’s. Should have been the dominant half. He will be our first choice halfback next year. I was so happy for him when he nailed that field goal.
Staines is living up to his nickname ‘shit’ very poor at the back. I don’t understand why they don’t play Chrighton back there. He is begging for more ball and space. Edwards though would have given them an easy win.
