+xWell the good thing is that Gus is already referring to us as "us" and "we". Unlike Des who took best part of 10months to call us "us" I’ve had stalkers carry on less than you...

+x+xYes he has his faults and plenty of them, mostly revolving around ego. But everyone’s got there faults and the only question I put to anyone tonight is can you name somebody better qualified to run our football dept and development? Anyone? Other than the Mock and Villi, no other names come to mind... If those are the options , I pick Villi.

It’s ok... he will disappoint you as well...

+x+xNot 100% sure about this, but it may be a great move. My only problem with Gus is his ego makes it hard to admit mistakes. But he doesn't make many and has a great knowledge of the game. Magnificent signing…. Gus at least has some blue n white pumping thru his veins…. Unlike that Fwit Dessy Welcome home Gus The other jilted lover...

The worst part of this announcement is that other fwit…. Germ Weidler will no doubt shift his negative stories/views on our great club overnight due to his relationship with Gus. You watch!

+xAnother thing that is getting very annoying is when a try is scored and the referee calls try on field and then the idiot fvckwits in the bunker look at it 457 times in super slo-mo and decide to overturn the refs decision. Rugby League is becoming such a one dimensional, touch footy, interference ridden, borefest. The only people that get excited these days are the betting companies jizzing on how much profit their making. And the confected excitement by the commentators

Best signing we have made. We should see some good publicity and certainly he will attract some talent. I’m very, very happy about this.

+x+x+xNot 100% sure about this, but it may be a great move. My only problem with Gus is his ego makes it hard to admit mistakes. But he doesn't make many and has a great knowledge of the game. I'm with you. He is better than this NZ All Blacks ex coach Hansen. But this is the same guy that got rid of Ivan Cleary and then Hook and left the Panthers after he couldnt stop the board re-appointing Cleary. Now look at them. I just hope he doesnt rate Flanno and can engineer an exit asap... F*** me he built the Panthers. And if he would’ve had his way at the end, they’d have had Bennet as coach and be shooting for a three-peat right now. Exactly. Bellamy to the Bulldogs with Paps and Grant

No contest...I don't think Gould will be actively involved in much recruiting though he would carry some clout and I am sure would put the kibosh on getting someone like Vaughan. It is the juniors that are going to benefit.

+xFrank Ponissi of the storm would probably win it hands down but Gus would be up there.... Look I rate Ponissi, who wouldn’t. But who really has the most to do with building the Storm? Ponissi or…. …. BELLAMY. Gus built the long term framework for two clubs - Easts and Penrith. And particularly with The Panthers he had to wreck it first before he could build it again and was brave enough to do so. He fixes clubs. Might put a thousand noses out of joint, but…. stiff shit.

He's definitely, as you say, one of the best candidates for the job. I'm not disagreeing. But I answered your question.

The real unfortunate thing is Gus comes 1-4 years too late. If we were able to get him anytime in the last 4 odd years, we'd be in a far better position than what we are at. After watching his interview last night on 9, I'm more convinced he will do good things for our club. The key role I think with him is that the board knows when to move him on before he runs afew too many noses and undoes the good work. Broncos have benefitted from signing Ikin. You can see it in the way the Broncos played last game. But we've done better getting Gus.

And I like the emphasis on developing talent. 3 years ago, many in the Penrith side were not household names. I am always happy to trust that the club knows what they are doing, as long as 2 choices are available.

+xRenouf dropped AGAIN Doorey in Barrett talked up Renouf and Ogden before the season started. Both have been pooh all year. As have almost every signing Barrett has made. It really worries me about Baz.
Although having Gould now should help work out any coaching issues
