ATTITUDE MATTERS...
We never gave up...
Funny seeing Lou Reed get rubbed on the head by a Manly player and not reacting.. yet if Lounrubs someone it's a warning or penalty and a month of media coverage...
We smash the Cows next week...

TRACII GUNNS taken without the ball...
We d9nt paly this bad again this year,..
As for the talk the past couple of days about not having another gear, I think we've actually played 'within ourselves the past 3 months'...
Would rather see Bailey start than the Fish...

+x+x+x+xGot to get our act together here. Haven't played this bad all year since Rd 1... Won't play this bad again... I hope so, don't know if the team is nervous, but we are well off in many areas. Bad night at the office... We put it behind us like we have all the good nights... And focus on next week... It wasn't to be tonight. Can't win 'em all boys. I think its the loss we needed to have to bring the boys back to earth. They've had a shit ton of pressure on them last few weeks. They'll come good next week.

Just got beaten by a much better team tonight. Not much we could do. But that what makes it worse. We didn’t have what it takes to go with Manly.
It’s not the ref. It’s that they were way too good. Their forward pack destroyed ours. They won the ruck. It’s why small ball doesn’t work when it counts.

+xOn report for an attempted trip??? On report for a leg drop where the defender doesn't land on the legs???... Turbo not in bin????... Forward passes delux... Do we have a penalty yet???... D not great tonight... A just off... 40 minutes to redeem ourselves... Or I'll call it the game we had to lose before the semis... This smells a bit like 1995 . I remember the Bulldogs had a couple of average games before the semis .

+x+xHere we go again. We just don’t have what it takes to go all the way. No chance tonight. Klein definitely not helping Turbo should had been sin binned for attempting trip . Skelton should had scored that try . Hopefully this half Sea Gulls get tired . They probably played their best 40 mins . Their best 40 mins of the year... Turbo decision a disgrace...

How was that try passed by the bunker ? There was definitely separation from the ball . We need to settle down and get more of the ball . Manly can implode.

I think that the key to our side finding the next gear is tuning up the attack against Manly and the Cows.
I see these games as similar to the Broncos, good attacking teams, but suspect in defence.
Many of the so called experts have picked Manly, I wonder how many of them tipped the Broncos.
IMO Salmon is the key player for us, he needs to stick to his role, play up tempo and nail the execution.
While I love a lot of what Mann does, he does slow down and stifle our attack occasionally and that sometimes leads to errors.
The other possible path to team improvement is Underhill playing and smashing it.
Ideally Salmon, Underhill and Skelton all play and they all smash it, Cirro is then left with a major selection headache.

The AFL have named an Australian side. Must be a big game against a handball team from Taiwan coming up.

+x+x+xOther teams are so inconsistent that it is hard to predict outcomes. Will the best version of Manly turn up on Friday? How good is the best version of Manly? If we stay in the grind will we frustrate Manly into error? Mann is a big loss for us, Curran is a big plus. Dogs will maintain our level, the rest is up to the opposition. Hard to predict anything from here, just enjoy the ride. If we start well Manly might fall apart, their defence was ordinary against the Tigers. They will start out determined and energetic, but can they cop a couple of early setbacks? No point in looking further ahead, take it week by week. It’s the toughest game we have had for a while. Luckily we are at home. I’m worried about this one. It’s a game that we really have to win. We need to push for top four and beat both Manly and Nth Qld to get the mental edge on whoever finishes 8th. we are finishing 5th with one win required from the last 2 games. 4th is gone in my view thus I would expect curren won't play this week ,possibly kikau and tracy too We are down to a 2 man extended squad- Underhill and Hutchinson. Still a chance that Underhill might play instead of Curran. We will want to secure a home final. What a joke the Cows v Storm game was. The Cows don't deserve a home final after that performance. If the Cows ground announcer didn't wip up the ground with a lame Cowboys, Cowboys chant, there was less noise, atmosphere and passion that a typical library. Cows fans don’t seem to be very passionate. If we can keep the winning momentum going.

+x+x+xMicko, I can't agree with you on this one. During the regular season they proved they can mix it with the best sides and although semi final football is a different kettle of fish I believe the Dogs have enough experienced players (and coach) to navigate the team through the finals series and enough firepower to win it outright. It’s highly unlikely mate. I hope you’re right though.
I’m just thinking more on next season. I’m hoping we sign more similar players to what we did this year. Continue to build through competition for positions. And a team that has finals experience. Its hard not to get swept in the emotion of this run if ours, and think we can go all the way. But my gut feel is come finals time, the other sides (especially the top 4) will rise another gear or two. I dont think our guys have any gears left. But the game style we play can win games if these finals teams dont improve on what they've been dishing out. First things first, and we need to secure a home final (5th or 6th). From there hopefully we put in a good performance and give ourselves a shot at making a prelim or GF. For some reason, i like prelims more than GFs. I get too nervous on GFs. The last 2 were real emotional rollercoasters for me.... Unfortunately I’ll be in Hawaii for the Grand Final if we make it. But somehow I’ll find somewhere to watch it. Either way I’ll be throwing down a few to calm the nerves.
