Struggling with concentration against accurate bowling is what he can expect against the Indians. Has he matured sufficiently since his last Test four years ago? I reckoned at the time he never got a fair go..with only the four tests. He came undone in the UAE like many Oz batsmen do and then was dropped.

He was making life uncomfortable for the batters, bowling a lot faster than any other Tassie bowler on a dead pitch. I was very impressed!

He has the stamina to play FC cricket too. His  action doesn't take as much out of him as the likes of Cummins. He also has more endurance than Stanlake. Meredith is shorter and skids on.

One of the Tas staff says he has been recorded at 150 KPH. 

Did little in the Shield afterwards until recently.

I liked the look of Vic opening left handed bat,  Harris.

He only has a Shield average of 32 though, but has been better this season.

He looked compact and correct today.

According to cricket 101 - short bowlers need lateral movement (typically swing but seam will suffice). Tall bowlers who do not swing need to grip in the pitch (for seam) and not skid on to be successful. 

There's always exceptions (like a Wagner bounceathon), but this is the general rule. Short skiddy bowler need to swing if they do not grip and be slow seam (which is also very very very deadly - ala tall bowler McGrath).

Quality intl batsmen are not beaten by pace - else Lee would not average over 30 in test cricket. Movement kills batsmen. Lateral movement beats pace. Thommo v Lillee. McGrath v Lee or Gillespie...

Getting lateral movement matters more than pace. Pace only wins when there is no lateral movement...

I wasn't quite behind Meredith to see whether the ball was swinging.

You saw Paine's spectacular catch off Meredith in dismissing White.

Even though I saw Meredith  bowl a withering  spell where he really hurried up batters' shots, and softened them up with some express short stuff, Tassie captain, Bailey, wasn't happy with his bowlers, apart from Bird. 

The Tassie spinner was injured fielding and couldn't bowl.

Marcus Harris is being mentioned as a test opener. It seems as though he did well against Tasmania.

Yesterday Harris didn't took like getting  out until he did.

He was very annoyed with himself when he was dismissed LBW by Bell.

He looked uncomfortable against some of Meredith's express bowling, but stayed in.

Pakistan's Abbas exemplifies this.

Goood to see a genuine FB in the team of the round in Richardson.

Tremain and Boland looked a lot like Bell and Sandhu.

Successful bowlers on Aussie wickets who could struggle in Asia, unless any are good reverse swingers.

Tremain tho has spoken about having worked out ways to pick up wickets on dead decks.

Frankie Worrall  had the perfect recipe for bowling on these slow, flat decks where there is no discernible swing. . Keep the ball up and make the batsman play. Tremain also. Take a look at his hilites reel..
