i can tell you a few things. black and blue (a teal shaded blue) seems to have a bit of appeal to them. So does gold (due to the 19th century gold rush in the west of Victoria). Tarneit, Werrribee or Wyndham will not be part of the name as they want a name that represents the West of Melbourne and/or Victoria. West or a variation of west (western, westgate, westside) will almost certainly be part of the name. 

Actually, that's a good point, hadn't thought of that, the owners will own it all, and if they can afford it, will run a football club on the side

They ran a poll on the best fan designs a few months back. It’s possible the colours might come from here.

They could even go the Cleveland route and call themselve the West Melbourne Browns

There is an important distinction to be made here. The club will not own the stadium. The people/consortium that owns the club will also own the stadium.

I think they can be successful long term, it might take them a few years to be successful though. They need to do some serious community work to gain traction.

They will go for the animal theme i rekon, to attract Western Bulldogs fans.

Given the links to Geelong also, it’s likely best they go with something like Western Victoria FC.

Oh well. I just don’t see this bid as a great one. Those mystery backers must be very big names to sway the FFA, given that they have to get this right after previous failed expansion efforts.

Yeah it won't happen - all fluff and bubble to cover over the cracks. This is Southern Expansion in disguise, all about getting the rights to develop property in the area.

I'm a Geelong based Victory fan. I will not switch to WMG but I will have a soft spot for them if they get in. The prospect of having derbies to attend at a stadium in Tarniet is exciting.
