One would probably be Katrina Gorry. She knew the fix was in. Received a direct teeet from the mysterious Lynda Taylor on 4 Jan, advising that Stajcic would be gone before the next game.

It didn't say 'next game'.

Assistant doubts Stajcic surveys by @gatty54
RAY GATT
12:00AM JANUARY 24, 2019
A former assistant coach of the Matildas has revealed he was not asked to take part in either of the two surveys that helped to bring down coach Alen Stajcic and send Australian soccer into one of its worst crises in years.

As the drama and speculation surrounding Stajcic’s shock dumping continued to swirl yesterday, Nahuel Arrarte told The Australian of the devastating effect it has had on Stajcic and his family.

Football Federation Australia took the drastic action of dumping Stajcic, who had been in charge of the Matildas since 2014, on Saturday on the basis of an investigation following revelations in two surveys of players and staff — one conducted by Professional Footballers Australia and the other by Our Watch, an organisation that tackles abuse and violence against women.

Questions have since been raised about the validity of both surveys, especially the one conducted by Our Watch, following suggestions it was not password protected and could have been accessed by any number of people. However, Our Watch assured The Australian last night that their research was conducted by the strictest standards.
“All Our Watch research abides by the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct, under the guidance of Human Research and Ethics committees. Our Watch surveys are housed on a highly reputable platform utilised by hospitals, government and researchers and all data is password-protected and accessible only to authorised staff,” they said in a statement.

While jumping to Stajcic’s defence, Arrarte, who was involved with the Matildas for 18 months, said he was not part of the survey and was surprised to learn of the findings.
“Staj is a gentleman and has been a huge advocate for women’s football for 20 years,” Arrarte said. “Without him, the support for women’s football would not be what it is now.
“He has always fought for the girls and helped them out immensely.

“I have been involved in the camps, training, matches and tours and I have never seen or heard of any issues.

“That’s why this whole thing doesn’t make sense. It makes me think that some of these things have been fabricated.

“As for the surveys, you would think as an integral part of the set-up I would have been asked to do it, but I was never asked.”

It has been revealed that the Our Watch survey received 142 replies, but only three were from the Matildas and the suggestion is that most responses came from parents of some of the players, and staff and partners.

The FTBL.com.au website said some of the responses from the three replies included “trigger words” such as “toxic”, “misogynistic” and “bullying” and “were later cited by the FFA”.
Meanwhile, Arrarte said he had been in regular touch with Stajcic.

“This has devastated him and really had an effect on his wife and kids. It’s shocking,” Arrarte said.”

There was so much innuendo flying around but no one was coming out and telling the truth.

“That’s the part that is difficult to take. His character is being assassinated.”

At least one Matilda has said she doesn’t even remember seeing the survey.

Stajcic, who has remained silent since his dismissal on the advice of his legal team, took the Matildas to a record high world ranking of four in 2017. They are currently ranked six.

Under his reign they qualified for the finals of the Asian Cup in 2014 and 2018 and reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup in 2015 and also got to the quarter-finals at the Rio Olympics in 2016. They were on track to be one of the leading contenders at this year’s World Cup in France.

No-one knows, but why would she even be following the account?  It looks like it's an account that is linked to someone with inside knowledge (hence some of the followers).

Gorry is following 468 people. It's likely she doesn't see most tweets from her followers. As to why she's following the account, Lynda could have sent her a "good game today Kat!" tweet once and Gorry followed back. It's a twitter follow, it's not that deep.

Read it. It was well wishes from someone who uses her nickname and obviously knows her well enough to know that she would not be horrified by the possibility that Stajcic would be replaced. You don’t give best wishes to someone then make a potentially inflammatory statement like that, unless you know exactly how the recipient will react. Lynda Taylor clearly believed Gorry would be cheered up by this news.
Must be just a coincidence that none of Gorry, Reid, Highwood or Tracey Holmes (all followers of Lynda Taylor) saw it.

The more of this that comes out, the stinkier it gets. I hope Stajic bankrupts the FFA in a lawsuit! There are some shady activities behind this.

So for more than four years the FFA purposely and deliberately built up Stajcic's Matilda's.
FFA Board and Staff basking in the success, selling the Matilda's story and personalities to the media and the public.
The Media and the public bought into the story because they liked it.
Then last Saturday for no disclosed reasons and vague references, the FFA turns it all upside down just leaving it at that, no ifs no buts.

I cannot see how that is an action that shows transparency, is reasonable and in the best interests of ALL concerned.

This issue is going to go on for some time and rightly so until a higher standard of transparency will silence the innuendo and gossip created by the poor handling of this incident.

Once again we make the headlines for what happens off the field and not on it, right now no one would know the Socceroos are playing the Asian Cup, that there is an A-League and W-League competition.
History keeps repeating...

I just thought if we're all part of the ongoing post-mortem here it's important to get the words exactly right.

There was an article saying one of the players has been shocked that the survey response was used to axe Stajcic. They were expecting it to be used constructively.

I just re-read it. The fact she uses her nickname means nothing, fans call her Mini, as do commentators, it doesn't suggest they know each other. Nor did 'Mini' respond.

"You don’t give best wishes to someone then make a potentially inflammatory statement like that, unless you know exactly how the recipient will react."

I just want to ask you in all seriousness, if you think this is true? Not trying to antagonise, but this thread has been pretty eye opening for me in making me realise how differently people see things than I do.

For example, if I sent a tweet to Joe Calletti last season, "Don't worry Joey, JA will be gone by the time you return from injury and you'll be back starting in no time!", would you assume that 1) I had a personal relationship with Calletti, 2) had inside info of a conspiracy to get JA fired, and 3) that Calletti saw my tweet and was hoping JA would be fired?

On top of this, the tweet isn't in reply to one of Kat's tweets, it's a reply to a fox article about her, that Taylor @'d her in. Even if Kat saw it and disagreed with it, she'd likely just ignore it as random hate for he coach from a passionate fan of the coach she wanted in.

An Our Watch source said the organisation was surprised its survey had allegedly been a factor in the dismissal of an FFA staff member. In a statement, the organisation said its surveys were meant to be anonymous in nature and the results should be used only as "baseline" information to help a company or organisation improve workplace culture across the board. Surveys were not meant to pinpoint issues within specific departments or with identified personnel. Our Watch said the results of the FFA survey should not have been be able to identify problems with any one team, as it purportedly did with the Matildas.

"The survey is entirely confidential to protect the anonymity of the people involved," an Our Watch statement said. "Our Watch workplace surveys provide organisational recommendations that can inform culture change strategies and actions plans - they do not outline actions to be taken against individual staff members."

https://www.smh.com.au/sport/soccer/ffa-offside-with-major-stakeholders-over-handling-of-stajcic-sacking-20190123-p50t7r.html

Yes the survey was a factor but not the only factor as already explained by Gallop nor does it suggest it was the main factor despite the hysteria on this forum trying to portray otherwise.

Well said 👍 he's the CEO of FFA and some think it's okay he's paid big money to simply be a messenger to people below him.

Well a CEO is responsible to the Board and a CEO is the main spokesman for the organization.

There appears to be a lack of understanding in corporate governance (deliberately or naively) to further ones own agenda it seems.

I am still waiting to hear one ,just one allegation against Stajcic that is remotely close to misconduct ,let alone worthy of outrage. If this is an example of leadership under the new board, then Lowy may be right in fearing for the future.Because the clueless leader has been replaced by a clueless rabble.

Of course Steve Lowy was right. For a starter you will not have a truly independent board.

But you reap in what you sow, so there you have it.

So,

The six person Board unanimously voted to terminate Stajcic's contract after they had been presented with recommendations by the organisations senior management.

Gallop and his highly paid managers recommended the sacking.

There have been zero allegations against Stajcic!

There has been a flawed process to sack Stajcic.

There has been misuse of a corrupted survey, which was neither comprehensive, properly conducted or secure and which was only intended for improving standards.

There have been a Board memebr and CEO forecasting the events before any investigation was commenced!

That means the Gallop and his mangers should be the first to go.They are either incompetent or have colluded to mislead the Board.
Then there is the issue of who on the Board was involved in the recommendations?
A lot of collusion has been happening to assassinate the character of a decent man!

An independent investigation needs to take place.

AUSTRALIAN. FOOTBALL IS ROTTEN TO THE CORE!.......We are heading for another meltdown.

I do see what you are saying, but a better analogy would be:
You are a person who has Joe Calletti, Darren Davies and Craig Moore and at least one journalist as followers. You sent a tweet to Joe Calletti last season, "Don't worry Joey, JA will be gone by the time you return!  Craig Moore and Darren Davies will make sure that. People are not happy with the current setup". When sending the tweet to Joe, you specifically 'tagged' Craig and Darren so they'd see that Joe knew of their 'supposed plan'.
Once this tweet became public, Craig Moore unfollows you.

Would you say that if you thought there was a chance that Joe was a supporter of JA?  Do you think there'd be a reaction from Craig and Darren if they knew a journo might see such an inflammatory tweet. They wouldn't deny it?  Do you think Joe would be scared witless if he thought he was part of a conspiracy he didn't know about that included the assistant coach?  Do you think he might mention it to someone? You don't think Darren and Craig would be quick to deny it to Joe?  You don't think it a bit too convenient that none of those tagged saw the tweet?

IF there was a serious issue, there is no way that FFA could keep it secret.
They would have to inform the police.
Instead they sack him with no reason given and endless leaks to try and attack his character.

There is one simple rule in life that people should follow.......The most obvious answer is the answer most of the time!

In this case always default to the premise..FFA is a closed ,secretive, unethical organisation and the answer is obvious!

In this case individuals with an agenda to get rid of Stajcic have succeeded in pulling the flock along with them and they are all now stuck in what they have created.

Listen to Lucy Zelic and it makes more sense. This shit storm is created first by the FFA handling the sacking poorly and secondly by the media seemingly 'splitting upon lines'.

Comment: The witch hunt over dumped Matildas coach Alen Stajcic has gone too far

JANUARY 21, 2019I have been lucky enough to cover every major soccer tournament for News Corp Australia that featured the Matildas from 2014 when Stajcic took charge.I have worked with Stajcic during two Asian Cups — Vietnam and Jordan last year — and the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada in 2015 — about 60 days worth of tournaments.Since Football Federation Australia announced on Saturday Stajcic had been sacked, just five months before the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France, few have spared much thought on how this man and his beautiful young family must be coping.

His character has been totally assassinated. For what? Nothing is clear. The witch hunt has gone too far.Now Nine media reports parents of the Asian Cup squad that went to Jordan insinuated Stajcic didn’t care for the welfare of their daughters.Enough is enough, this has infuriated me. Even more so than the initial shock of Stajcic getting the flick.I spent about 25 days in Jordan and saw Stajcic daily. Some conversations were about work, others weren’t and others were just about life.I cannot say one bad word about Stajcic.I also spoke to many parents of the players, had dinner with some, shared a drink with others and coffee too.Stajcic’s demeanour was never attacked by these level-headed parents.Sure I heard conversations about why their daughters should be playing ahead of player X or his tactics but nothing more, it was typical game talk — a difference of opinion and nothing else. His tournament debut was more than very uncomfortable in May 2014.I remember it vividly at Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City — a venue where the Socceroos played to the sounds of distant artillery guns firing during the Vietnam War in 1967.His international football debut couldn’t have been more confronting.Sacked Matildas coach Hesterine De Reus was working for the Asian Football Confederation in an official capacity just weeks after the Matildas threatened mutiny if they kept the Dutch woman in charge. She was one of the first people Stajcic saw when he led his team from the tunnel to the pitch in the opening game which featured Jordan. The Matildas could have fallen apart in that instance but no they didn’t and that’s largely down to Stajcic’s mentoring. He repaired the fractures within the group, took the Matildas to the Asian Cup final (twice) and earned a long contract that year.I still cannot comprehend why some folk are out to annihilate the man.

Former players/ fan heroes now buying in. Not looking good for Heather Reid:

From Mark Schwarzer: "Is this the change that the Australian Football community really wanted at the FFA? This would never have /didn’t happen under the Lowy reign. How is it possible that an FFA board member can behave in this manner?? https://footballtoday.news/features/ffa-board-confronts-their-first-governance-challenge-with-alen-stajcic-decision …"

Matildas scandal deepens amid boardroom opposition to Alen Stajcic

JANUARY 21, 2019Football Federation boss David Gallop admits he told sacked Matildas coach Alen Stajcic that FFA’s new board was “good for me but it’s not so good for you” — but insists it was “nothing more than a lighthearted remark”.As the furore over Stajcic’s summary removal last Saturday continued unabated, The Daily Telegraph has established that it was an open secret among FFA management and Matildas staff that Stajcic had opposition at board level. The row claimed another victim on Wednesday when the scout appointed to analyse Australia’s opponents at the World Cup, who previously had been the Matildas’ video analyst for two years, resigned claiming Stajcic was the victim of “an underlying agenda … outside the Matildas group”.
Gallop has been criticised for his handling of the scandal. AAP Image/Jeremy Piper.
Chris Bowling, now the Newcastle Jets goalkeeping coach, said “the atmosphere and culture within the group was first class” after working in the Matildas set up for two years. The man who succeeded Bowling as Matildas’ video analyst, Nahuel Arrate, who resigned in protest at Stajcic’s exit, told The Daily Telegraph that he was not interviewed by FFA staff before the decision was made to remove the head coach.FFA has said that interviews with support staff and players, as well as the two surveys of players — conducted first by FFA and the players’ union, and then by advocacy group Our Watch — had been used to make the decision to sack Stajcic on Saturday morning.FFA declined to offer any further statement on Wednesday after deputy chair Heather Reid insisted she had not plotted to remove Stajcic, adding: “It’s a pity that there aren’t more parents and players prepared to speak up about some of his behaviour. If people knew the actual facts, they would be shocked.”Reports on Wednesday also claimed that FIFA’s Technical Study Group had compiled tactical reports on Australia from the Asian Cup and Tournament of Nations last year which criticised the style of play and called the team “one-dimensional”.
Stajcic has been sacked mere months before the World Cup.
In fact it is the Asian Football Confederation’s own technical group that compiles reports on Asian tournaments, and their verdict on the Matildas from the Asian Cup was largely positive, noting the team’s ability to play out from the back and “Australia’s attacking potential was also hinged to physical presence and athletic condition, which made them difficult to contain”.The report was written by a group of AFC experts headed by former Matilda and FFA board member Moya Dodd — who ironically was one of the drivers behind the appointment of Stajcic’s predecessor, Hesterine de Reus.In a bizarre twist to the Stajcic saga, some Tweets to Reid from an anonymous account appeared to predict his demise on January 4 — claiming it would happen before the Cup of Nations tournament being held here next month.

This just gets worse.
Gallop admits to joking about Board members who were anti-Stajcic. Is that how a boss treats his employees? Seriously.

But at  least the FFA still has paulc and maxxie believing the 'toxic environment' fantasy.

The term """Confirmation Bias""" springs to mind in how this has been handled...

A person or group has a bias either for or against something or someone or a group and then sets about about gathering information that confirms their bias... often selectivity taking things out of context.

I am getting the feeling this is the case with this sacking...

the wiki on """Confirmation Bias""'

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias

The start of the link reads... and by F this is starting to look like this...

"""Confirmation bias, also called confirmatory bias or myside bias,[Note 1] is the tendency to search for, interpret, favor, and recall information in a way that confirms one's preexisting beliefs or hypotheses.[1] It is a type of cognitive bias and a systematic error of inductive reasoning. ""'
