The closing down at the start was good, but we can't keep it up the whole game, so we need to be smarter with it. Close down space and force the Brazilians to play longer, more difficult passes or go backwards, instead of rushing in and giving them an option to pass to someone who can play forward, which forces our whole team to burn energy running back to defend.

Yeah, even though it makes the attack less effective, they need to take up better cover positions when we have the ball instead of 100% prioritising attack. As they are, they aren't able to close down passing lanes when we lose the ball, meaning every time we do, Brazil can take it right down to our keeper and we have to start our attacks from defence again.

Ehh, there were definite warning signs towards the end of Stajcic's reign. They started conceding by the truckload before the change. I doubt Stajcic would have made a big difference. The team has simply been badly out of form for quite a while now.
