canonical wrote:Recent talk about what attracts a crowd to Hindmarsh got me thinking. Clearly there are the die hards who would turn up to watch Jeronimo take on Bruce in a yoyo challenge, and the band wagon who are influenced by the weather etc. ....yes, I am bored today, but I think:
Hindmarsh crowd = 6000 + 3000 x (W x F x O x S) + X
W=weather (on a scale of 0.5 to 1.5, where 0.5 = shite, 1 = not bad and 1.5 = oh yeah). F=form (scale from 0.7 to 1.3, where 0.7 =sack Rini, 1=ok, 1.3= Leckie never left) O=opposition (1.2 for MV, 1.1 for SFC and Roar, other teams =1.0) S=schedule (1.1 for Friday night, 0.9 for Wednesday night and weekend afternoons) X= x-factor (a visiting marquee, a final or some dribble Val wrote that may add (or subtract) a few people. ie Del Piero might be worth an extra 2k.
This week sees good form, showers hopefully clearing by 5pm, and not much x-factor. crowd = 9164
That's some prediction. If you nail that you deserve a Nobel Prize.

If Vidosic is out it gives a great opportunity for one of either Carrusca or Ferreira to show what they've got and potentially become my next avatar (second only to the Johnny Warren medal for individual footballing brilliance in the A-League). Jeronimo has taken his opportunity and should start again tomorrow night. My fantasy team needs him to shine if Vidosic and all the kiwis are out!

Oh well, off to get my mug and poncho  The lanyard seems the same but the plastic sleeve holding the card seems way oversized, and looks tacky and cheap. Im a little annoyed and concerned that being a Gold member is no longer the pinnacle of memberships, now being a financial member is the top dog.... It doesnt make sense to me at all, i been a gold member since season 2 and now they offer this membership for less money that gives people a voice (im concerned who "the people" are also) You just need to look at Facebook and see the idiotic comments people make to see what i mean. To be a financial member should require certain things i believe, for instance maybe 5 years of being a red/gold member for one. Oh congratulations General Ashnak on ur appointment btw, how shall we address you now... Commissar, Marshal... El Presidente (my fav) I'm glad someone with intelligence and passion (not of the blind kind) has some sort of position on the Committee. Also will they be doing the 1 minutes silence thing tonight in memory of the Bali Bombings Victims, would be strange if they didnt i think. Good to see Val just seamlessly slip in some bitter agenda pushing into todays article about Shinji Ono Quote:Ono is expected to show Adelaide's tight-budget chiefs why good marquees are seen as investments, with Del Piero destined to be Hindmarsh's biggest-ever drawcard when he arrives for the New Year's Eve clash

Sure, not high profile but we are using the full cap and more. The same can;t be said for several other teams. Again, fuck me Val.

Tight-budget chiefs.... who are they? United would be pretty close to 100% of the cap and we have both marquee spots filled. Does he even support Adelaide United or is he a bitter City supporter?](*,)

He is a gutter trash journalist just like the rest of them. Appeal to the lowest common denominator at all costs. Well, season ticket is in my wallet for the first time ever for tonight. That plastic holder is ridiculous. It's not a bad point either re having to be a member(read season ticket holder) for a certain amount of years before you are allowed voting rights. Sort the wheat from the chaff so to speak. Then again, I'm not sure how many people would bother with that option unless they were long time fans. I did it last year and didn't go to one meeting (barely got an email from them until I complained 3 times and my dad never did who i paid for membership for. Done it again this year...see what happens.

all of the members stuff is cheap shit. You should see the mobile phone desk holder. and the bottle opener you can barely see it's a united one (out of town membership). Chuck all this shit in and give us a silk scarf ffs. Surely would cost about the same.

I've been thinking. Particularly for the game in Adelaide. If he scores, will he celebrate? If he does it will stoke the fire further if he doesn't, does it matter?

He has to this day tried his best to keep us from hating him and will continue to do so. Not the sort to burn bridges in case he needs us again. Not at Hindmarsh especially, over there not so sure. he plays to his audience.

First home game of the season. First time to see WSW. Ono coming to town. Pumped!
Get called to a work function that I can't get out of. Gutted!
Life is entirely unreasonable.
Cheer them on to a big win fellow fans. 4-1 to us. 12,500.

So what does Val think about these "tight-budget chiefs" now? Apart from the fact that both our marquee spots are filled, we have three quality imports.

According to Wikipedia, both Jeronimo and Ferreira are only on one year deals. We better get cracking and extend their contracts. Would hate to lose two more great players to the tards. On that note, about half our squad is coming off contract this year, including Cassio. We need to lock in these players as soon as possible. Given our situation, I think we can afford to let Van Dijk go, so long as we secure the other players on long-term deals.
