+x+x+xAnyone got updated images of the WU facility? Lynch claims the turf has been laid which i find extraordinary if true. They look miles off at this stage. Wouldn't surprise me to see them play all away games and in Tassie for the first two months of the season to buy more time for their "facility" to be finalised. I would hate to be a member of this club because their communication is just non-existent I have a mate that lives in the area and he reckons it should be ready for next season based on the progress he sees when driving by. Keep in mind, this is just a couple of training fields with a ~1000 seat stand and basic club rooms, etc. WU Update from February: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4lv8ZKGxwMIt'll be interesting to see how they handle memberships. We would have to assume temporary seating will be installed during the season. Members aren't going to pay the prices they have been if they aren't guaranteed a seat. Yep, understand its a basic build and set-up, but surely they want to sing from the rooftops regarding the progress they are making?? They are saying a 5k to 8k capacity so would have to be a minimum of 3 or 4k seating. The article states they will be temporarily constructing stands. I.e Macedonia Park. If the last few years has taught them anything, it is that they need to keep the capacity low. 5k should be the capacity. Derbies throw a spanner into the works though. They have had so much time to study what other clubs have done, that they just need to get things completed from their end now. It is as simple as that. As a betting man and getting back to the topic of the thread. I would say that Citys 10-12k Dandenong stadium will be up and running prior to the completion of the acutla tarneit stadium. The more they scream from the rooftops, the more questions will be asked about the 'actual' stadium. This is something they want to avoid as there is zero progress on that front. This ground is all Wyndham council. WU are just a tenant. However, I'd assume WU would need to fit the bill for the temp seating. You'd hope they'd get 3-4k temp seats in, but with this mob, who knows.

+x+x+x+x2023WUFC free tickets for western vs city Found on Facebook They should tell the kiddies the "free passes" are buried somewhere around the training grounds... at least they can get the footings dug for free..... Don't laugh, WU have a home "ground" now Yep, and theirs for however long they want. Better position than most clubs. Or until Maynard and Kate Roffey are booted out of the council.... Yup, better position than most clubs indeed.

Your right, but I would really laugh my ass off if the council finally gets this regional football facility off the ground ( Bihlibidis claimed May 2023 last time ......... *crickets) and realises they will gain better appreciation from their constituents by having local women's clubs use it rather than a private company..... You know, off the back of the WWC and everything??? hahahahahah

Probably more a case of a 'give us your absolute cheapest option possible'. Grey seats on grey concrete in the middle of a paddock. About as uninviting as it gets. Something is better than nothing and can't complain too much about any football infrastructure being actually built in Victoria.

City wont get a stadium built for them by CFG.
From my understanding of it, CFG have next to no interest in the A-league as a whole, in comparison to the booming MLS.
They just want to be able to continue to sell players from Melbourne City on to other clubs.
They have already made their investment back through the sales of Mooy, Bos, etc. Tilio is another one that will be sold on, as will Glover.
City could net 3m to 4m in sales this season, which is all CFG care about.

New York City FC is the jewel in the crown of CFG. That club isnt about selling players. Its about having a presence in the biggest city on the planet. Having a stadium of their own opposite Citifeild and a stones throw from the US Open tennis facility is the dream for CFG. They have achieved this. They wont see the need in building a stadium out here. It adds nothing to what they are doing, which is finding, developing and selling players through Melbourne City FC. This is why they are happy to pay Maclaren $1 million a season as a marquee, because as long as he is there, they will be up the top of the table, and young kids will want to go there, and amongst these young kids will be some sellable players, of which they will profit. Its taken some time, but its a very smart model to run a club on.

Its the obvious way to run an A-League club. The Mariners did it. Adelaide is doing it This is a selling league not a destination league.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+x2023WUFC free tickets for western vs city Found on Facebook They should tell the kiddies the "free passes" are buried somewhere around the training grounds... at least they can get the footings dug for free..... Don't laugh, WU have a home "ground" now Yep, and theirs for however long they want. Better position than most clubs. Or until Maynard and Kate Roffey are booted out of the council.... Yup, better position than most clubs indeed. Your speculation has no basis. Truth is the Council own the facility, and WU will have to lease it, and share with other community organisations Unclear who's paying for these https://twitter.com/Jules3345/status/1657619262247440385?s=20 These look like the seats for the main stand so the council is paying for those. I count 1512 seats. Looks like somebody over ordered then mate :) the actual "stadium" doesn't look like it would take more than 500-700 seats. I recounted, looks like it's 1008 seats. Each panel has 84 seats and it appears to be a total of 12 panels. So pretty similar to a bunch of suburban grounds around Melbourne. Wonder why they didnt go with green and black seating for their "own" home stadium though? Maybe the council is hedging their bets? tee hee. Probably more a case of a 'give us your absolute cheapest option possible'. Grey seats on grey concrete in the middle of a paddock. About as uninviting as it gets. Something is better than nothing and can't complain too much about any football infrastructure being actually built in Victoria. Its a far cry from their renders though isnt it? :) Oh well, wonder how they will spin this new "boutique stadium" experience being soooo much better than the unsuitable Lakeside...... So you've gone from "they ll never build the stadium" to "the seats are grey"

So you've gone from "they ll never build the stadium" to "the seats are grey" No, but it IS "their stadium" isnt it? If thats what these charlatans are claiming wouldn't you think they would at least have seats to reflect that? BTW, still dont think they will EVER build the "shovel ready" stadium their bid hinged on, its a pipe dream... this is a 500 seat council ground , NPL 3 level at best, they are now going to pass off as the spiritual hoe of football in the west.... hahahahahahha its actually quite hilarious.
