+xAnyone else think Southee’s follow through looks like Michael Kasprowic’s? I dont recall Kasper's follow thru. How can you?

DC Joe Burns is another with similar Head technique. Watch how he pushes away from body at ball contact..

Boult nearly bowls Burns LBW again with a swinging pitched up ball.
Southee is shaping it into the left hander.

barring rain or a calamity, when we win we should play a bunch of glen maxwell like players in Sydney. At least they have less brain cells to loose against the bodyline nonsense

+x+xGo on get those rib ticklers into Wagner.. give em out prepare to take em. Pattinson too short when bowling to him. Cummo bowled one snorter into his chest region but nothing since. All over red rover. Enthralling bowling display by Cummins and Pattinson. No looks like Aussies are batting again going on the speed our openers are leaving the field. I have to say when you are so far ahead in the game dont release the stranglehold. Kiwis may get a brace of wickets for not many in our second. Suddenly they have a morale boost. Captains are so reluctant to enforce a follow on these days. Mike Hussey backs my call that the deck has not deteriorated all that much.

Do we have our answer with Lyon bowling. Australia will enforce the follow on? No follow on. It might be conservative, but with only 4 specialist bowlers I think Aus batting again and Kiwis batting last is my preferred option to the follow on. Thoughts?

Starc looking dangerous with his 145kph short balls as he yorks Boult.
Kiwis all out for 148.
Aus must be 340ish in front.

+x+x5 for Pat Cummins. Do we enforce follow on? I'd rather not. The pitch is deteriorating fast and I wouldn't want to chase anything on this pitch I dont see the pitch deteriorating. We have only bowled 35 overs.. comms are saying enforce.. go for the jugglar.

+xGrazor, I think the Aussies are bowling a few short balls interspersed with good length balls. Wagner just copped a very spiteful short pitched ball from Cummins. Do you think we are bowling too many to tailenders? nah just a few more than normal to wagner. Only a few more so its probably half hearted revenge The short ball against a genuine tail ender is big weapon to either take a wicket or make them less likely to step forward to fuller balls are more threatening

+xI’ve missed a few hours play, but Aus seems to be keeping the ball at a fuller length than NZ, as Cummins induces an outside from Latham to Paine. NZ now 7-112 with Southee in and facing a 140kph short pitched Cummins thunderbolt. yep normally 6-7m is the dangerlength on this pitch its a touch fuller and we've hit the right length much more consistently this morning than last night would love to hear some stats on how many balls Australia faced that would actually hit the stumps compared to when we bowled. I reckon its a big difference. Even when they weren't playing bodyline tactics NZ were back of a length or wide of off a lot

+x+x+xpretty dominant session really. Somehow pattinson and cummins have to play, I don't know who makes room but they both are capable of averaging in the very low 20s! It is tough who to leave out when all four are fit including Hazlewood. and starc is one of the best strike bowlers of all time Very impressive over a sustained period. Patto just inducing more edges.

+x+x+xA good backs to the wall knock by Latham. He did not need to play at that. Perhaps the pressure Cummo had built drew him into the drive. Well DC I said Latham was going to be a thorn in our side.. needed to at least double that gutsy 50.. Ok some rib ticklers for Wagner fellars. Getting some of his own medicine with interest. I can live with it if its just against wagner and just 3 fielders on the legside. I'd rather we bowl conventionally though

Wagner now copping it from faster short pitched bowling from Cummins.
They aren’t getting into the ribs as much, but that one did dropped by Wade at bat pad.

Now Santner goes for 3.
Caught behind by Paine from Patto’s bowling - pitching on a good length.
