Happy Easter to all my fellow 442 forumites and football fans.

Glory be to God because today is the Epitaph of Our Great Lord who was crucified for all humanity.

People say, this is a sad occasion, but on the contrary. It will become a great victory as He tramples and destroys death for all mankind.

The Holy Spirit provides great solace to the elderly, sick and all of us in our hours of need during these difficult times.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday = 3 days.

Hahaha. Bullshit.  Friday 9am (to pick a random time).  Sunday 9am. 48 hours = 2 days.  Even if you said 9pm Sunday night that's 2.5 days not 3.

Besides which he died late afternoon Friday (by most accounts) and they went to the tomb early on the morning of the Sunday.  (Pre-dawn according to some of the gospels.) Clearly less than 3 days.  Whoever was proofreading the bible 1500 years ago let that one slip through to the keeper.

Can you honestly tell me if you're on drugs or not?

Where in the bible does it say Jesus rose from the dead exactly 72 hours after he died on the cross?

It's fucking laughable that you would come up with such a stupid argument as this. He was nailed to the cross on the Friday and rose on the Sunday that's how they get the 3 days, not 72 hours.

I would have understood this way back in kindergarten.

Calm down.  It doesn't say exactly 72 hours.  It says 'on the 3rd day Christ rose from the dead'.  (Or words to that effect.)

Friday to Saturday = day 1
Saturday to Sunday = day 2

Anyway you dice it it doesn't appear to be 3 days.  I mean it might be, that's why I'm asking.

Crucified on the Thursday and risen on the Sunday.

Epitaph on Good Friday.

Jesus was crucified on the Thursday. Not on Good Friday. On Friday, He was buried.

The rock was moved from the front of his burial cave some hours before Mary and Madeline discovered it.

Therefore, he had risen some hours earlier than the Sunday. Which is why there is a Service on the Saturday where the parishioners are smacking the pews onto the ground to symbolize the resurrection at the actual time it occurred, some hours before the church actually does the resurrection ritual at Midnight the same day.

Not as far as Orthodoxy is concerned.

We hold the crucifixion ceremony on Thursday. That is when the crucifixion occurs.

On Friday is the Epitaph where He is buried.

There was a Mary (as in the Mother of God) and Mary Magdeline. It was both who went to the grave and discovered that the rock in front of the tomb was moved and that when they went in discovered there was no body inside.
