Baccus not even off the bench this round. He gets time now and then. He's either asked for a move or gotten offside with boss or both. He became incredibly negligent in his play as it's gone to his head a bit. Time to switch on again and get the basics right.

Our starting #6 at the Asian Cup not getting mins is a big concern - he should've signed with Bolton when he had the chance, could be playing in the Championship next season. Arnie said that Nieuwenhof was in the squad until he got injured - he was playing 90 minutes nearly every game until the injury, so really unfortunate.

Leicester now being charged by FFP.... lol and they kept Souttar on the books? incredible. At least he should have a way out now. Im guessing that's why he hasn't been playing to keep his fee down as it was due to rise based on appearances.

No German football on Good Friday. Boro play Friday but I'm sure McGree will be too sore.

It'll be draining but I wonder if the players will make a mad rush to Sydney post game to get the 6am Emirates.

Volpato selected for Italy's U21's.

I've been waiting to see how he went, but it doesn't look like he was selected to play either game for some reason? Blocked again by Sassuolo?

Turns out Iredale and I'm sure Metcalfe, Irvine and others took a coach straight to Sydney and flew out 6am next day. They're back already. Both play on Sunday so that's 4 night sleep at home and both teams have crucial games in their campaigns.

Italy selected a 28 man squad which has a lot of competition. For example Miretti starts for juventus, Gnoto is a highly rated Leeds player (Everton 25M rejected bid), Casadei comes off the bench for Chelsea, Fabbian starts for Bologna who are 4th in Serie A, and Ndour who PSG signed last year from Benfica. It's a massive achievement to have even been included in the squad.

Thanks for that. So if he's got this much competition at u21 level and not even getting selected on the bench for either game, there's absolutely no chance of him being selected for a senior squad!!! He probably realised this when he accepted Arnie's offer last November, that was blocked by club and agent. Just come on board Cristian!!!

Carrick says Boro are also still awaiting the outcome of scans on McGree's foot injury sustained while away on international duty with Australia. It's not clear at this stage how long McGree will be out of action, but Carrick says the injury is slightly different to the plantar fascia issue he had problems with earlier in the season.

Riley has not been back in the country long, so it's assessing it, scanning it and seeing where he is and seeing if we can get him back involved."

Carrick will also closely assess the international players who are returning to Rockliffe, with Australian duo Sammy Silvera having faced a particularly long trip back to Teesside ahead of Boro travelling to Southampton on Thursday.

Carrick said: "Sammy and Tom have been away and it's a long way. It does make things more challenging.

"The boys mostly who've been away are experienced at it and used to it so it's just something you deal with and get used to.

"We still prepare for the game, we've had enough boys who have been in and around it and who are prepared anyway. You just have to adapt and be a bit more flexible."

Despite the injury, selection and travel issues, Carrick says Boro head south in good spirits after a four-game unbeaten run before the international stoppage.

He said: "Training has been good. We trained three days last week, came back in Monday so the boys had some time off.

"We managed to have some of the younger lads training with us which has been good for them to come up and have the experience and see what it's like to train with the first team and for us to work with them.

"It's really important we do that. It's been really enjoyable, the lads that have been here have worked well and prepared for the next set of games."

Not a very Good Friday with AMB, Bilokapic, Yengi, Iredale, Silvera bench. No Jones, McGree, Glover or Elder. No Souttar as Leicester trail 1:0 to Bristol City. Ipswich on later.

Live table has Leeds in 1st on GD. They play later and Leicester will still have a game in hand. Southampton 9 points back but 2 games in hand so they could get as close as 3. Massively important for Ipswich to win today.

Maresca the genius playing Faes on the right. Isn't he left footed? Choudhury at right back. For all he goes on about passing, it's one of Souttar's best traits. Leicester fans livid at the lack of urgent passing today in build up.

Souttars long range passing is elite

Loved his one touch ball into the box in the first game against lebanon, 30m and straight to taggarts feet

We havent seen it at national level (players often take time to adjust) but a feature lf burgess game is starting attacks with a defence splitting pass

Still hoping leicester fail to go up and leeds buy souttar and play him. Would be brutal karma

Leicesters cbs pass 80 and 100 times per match which is more than ange and more than barcelona. There is loving playing out the back and tikki takka and then there is jumping the shark :D

For all my frustration about fans complaining about sideways and backwards passing when a team is either probing or doing a rhthym change, i think that criticism would apply to leicester

Even back at Skunthorpe they were impressed by Burgess's passing from the back. He, compared to Souttar, has done the hard yards on the pitch this season and has to be given a chance if they go up. He'll have his work cut out in the Prem like a lot of bigger centre backs do but give him a go.

Souttar deserves a shot at the big time. I say this as plenty of centre backs go up a level and generally hold their own seeing themselves get bought by another EPL club if they go down within 2 seasons. If Luton go down their players will be snapped up I think. Some handy types. Burnley have some good players but aren't much of a team.

Leicester fans melting down calling their manager arrogant. Apparently 95 million pounds on the bench the same subs used every time. 4 posters called for souttar for something new

Would be rough for the fans to go so far ahead on the ladder only to choke but their form is nosediving

Absolute dream day for Portsmouth. A win and 5 points ahead of Derby in second who have played one game more. Bolton only drew and it's a 11 point gap now with 5 games to go. Tuesday night Portsmouth host derby and the host Shrewsbury. If they win the former they're nearly there and it'll be after the rest of the league has played. They should be fine. Following games are away to Bolton which could be the game to seal it officially then hosting Barnsley and Wigan and finally away to Lincoln.

3 wins seals it, but in reality 2 points in 6 games might be enough
