Very tough day for Mono and co. South was just unable to make passes to another South player going forward - which made the game very one-sided and prevented them from actually playing the game. I don't understand why you kept booting the ball downfield so inaccurately when you had the quality there to play through, and why so many times you chose to head the ball 'anywhere' when again there were options to control. Great season for you regardless, but disappointment in the end I know. Next season you aim to go one better again...

Hence the kickoff gap to cover all eventualities Even with extra time and penalties and presentations/celebrations a 1pm kickoff would mean what 3.30 - 4pm and the changerooms are free? 3:pm normal time end (note injury time ) Extra time plus penalties and presentation 4 pm before they get back in. Possibly 5 pm before changing rooms are available

And to add while FV determined City Vista was best for Player, Official and Sponsor experience, it would be nice if supporter experience was a priority too. No disrespect to any Berger fans but if Kimon and co are looking for the best official and sponsor experience at OV they are going to have to stay home and watch on NPL.TV :)

^ yeah Heidelberg is actually pretty good location for me so that’s all g. Sunday night at 6.30, dragging other little ones out there and dropping off. I don’t think their parents will approve.
Saturday arvo, sat night or sun arvo seems like a logical time.

+x+x+xAnyway, if the weather is nice I will go on Sunday and take the kids 6.30 kickoff mate, if it goes to extra time and penalties wont be getting home till 10.30-11pm.... I was planning too as well but bit too much on a windy rainy night for my two... Will see what the weather is like on the day I suppose. See you there :) Oh damn, really. Was also going to take a few kids from our club as well, but that rules that out. I thought it was 3 for some reason Mate, I actually had my two kids and missus all hyped up to come to the soccer with daddy. My brother, his 3 little ones, Old man, father in law, my brother in law and his 2 little boys .... All excited to watch Hellas in a grand final at 4pm Sunday at Lakeside - I was getting them all tickets to sit in the stands, beers and food all on me, it was gonna be a great family outing the little ones were all excited..... Worse case iot would have been (I assumed) at AAMI where the atmosphere would have been a little muted for our measly 5-6 thousand but at least it would have been great for teh family..... OV, while a great place to watch soccer for us die hards is NOT a family friendly place..... From 15 of us from my family alone there will now be only 2..... Im pretty sure Im not the only one in this boat. Feel sorry for the players and their families more.

Not very "woke" of Olympic Village only having 2 x changerooms and because of it this double header will have at least 3 hours of "dead time" between it to allow the girls to get changed in peace and spray their Gatorades everywhere before the men's teams can use them :) hahahahahah   I hope the fans take ALL the standing room under the ONLY cover and the FV clowns and assorted shit eating corporates end up on the dirt mound on the Northland side, standing in the rain....At least South Melbourne wont get an an unfair advantage over poor widdle Oakleigh though.......

FFV and the Oakleigh fat cats deserve all the abuse they’ve gotten the past few days. An appalling attempt to manipulate any advantage top placed and better supported South Melbourne had. C'mon now mate, its not as if the Aleague grand final is played at the home ground of one (or both) of the finalists :)

The NSW NPL grand final was at Commonwealth Bank stadium as a comparison.. No public transport and parking mainly in neighbourhood streets infested with gangs. It stinks of FFV corruption and nepotism. The thing that runs the FFV is married to the thing that runs Oakleigh. They want to take the crowd out of the equation. Oakleigh will bring mums, dads and the relo’s, South would probably bring 4 or 5 thousand. This venue has never been used for an NPL senior mens match. It is simply not worthy, not fit for purpose and an insult to the game, members and fans. I hope the South board tell those fuckers at FFV to stick that venue up your arses, we are not turning up there. Pride and dignity are more important than a grand final here. Yep it’s been shit following South the past 15 or so years but enough is enough in this instance. The club should not be bent over by a bunch of incompetent and vindictive lowlifes. Not a Vic but reading this from the outside what Mono and you have said is amazing. Is there anything on facebook etc where they're trying to defend this decision? Radio farkin silence from Football VIC mate...... 5 days out from a GF that many of us have been gagging for for years and nothing!!!!! South hasn't even announced the final location, such is our disgust I suppose..... last NPL VIC GF (Avondale v Bentleigh) was played at AAMI Park in front of 2 thousand (seated) fans and they serve US up this shit........ So just curious, as an Oakleigh supporter, do you not think the grand final (which your club has very admirably earned the right to play in) deserves to be played at a ground with more than 1000 seats? If for no other reason than to reward the hard work those 22 players have put in for the year and to justify the achievement? The players have friends, family, loved ones they want to invite, both our clubs have older (and very young) fans who need a seat to see this match and last time we played in a GF there where 7 thousand seated people at Lakeside with a great atmosphere. Your presidents wife may have arrange a lovely sit down dinner for the FV Gold medal night early in the week with more seats offered their than both City Vista and Kingston Heath have combined!!! Where the fuck are all these dignitaries going to sit at the GF? You know, and I know, that outside of AAMI ( stupidly never booked and now lost to the Rugby Union League game) the only grounds with the required capacity in Victoria are possible Knights stadium and Lakeside... Id be happy to play at Somers Street, im sure the Knights boys would be more than welcoming hosts - their president even offered to serve up gyros for us :) We dont want the game to be played in the middle of nowhere. We we're hoping it would be at aami park. Personally I'm fine with it being at lakeside. If that's not an option, then yes, a neutral ground like knights stadium is fine. Why isn't it at aami? Maybe it was too expensive and all 1,000 of us Oakleigh and south fans wouldn't be enough to cover the cost, i dont know.Either way, i hope they bring it somewhere closer to home and a better stadium. I don't know how many people will turn up on sunday, I'm going to assume probably around 1,000 give or take. I've been to a bunch of sth games this year, including the one against Oakleigh at lakeside. I don't know what the attendance was, but the stand wasn't completely full. Admittedly it was a very windy and cold day, but I'd assume there was probably something like 500-750 people there? Maybe more, not entirely sure, wasn't as big as i was expecting for a 1st vs 2nd game. Yeah it was a poor turn out for 1st vs 2nd but in fairness there were 15 Oakleigh supporters when they usually bring 200-300 to Lakeside. Ill be suprised (as long as it doesnt pour down) if less than 4-5k turn up on Sunday. Fair enough. Well i hope its a massive turnout, when theres a big crowd, the atmosphere is more exciting. In your unbiased opinion, who is more likely to win? Taking into account stadium location, players in/out of form, injuries etc. I'm predicting south should win, just think the amount of games Oakleigh has played recently, injuries and so on may take its toll. Plus they seem to have a habbit of losing finals. But i guess south have some injury concerns of their own. Hoping it's a good game, would love to see it go to penalties even if results don't go my teams way. Knowles and Guest are two of the best players in the league right now. I believe Joe Knowles has already signed for Brisbane Roar and will join them after the Australia Cup semi final next week (if Oakleigh dont make the final that is). Wade Dekker has slumped a little in the last 2-3 weeks for me but overall Oakleigh are well up for it. Oakleigh having "special federation dispensation" in signing a keeper for the finals despite having perfectly healthy keepers in the reserve squads is absolutely criminal but ...... well ....... sick of spewing hate on that thing that runs the federation. A GF is an "all bets are off" game as always but despite missing our best full back and striker we are playing solid, pragmatic football this year (not always pretty to watch) and chances tend to come our way in spades.... If Andy, Max or Alun have their shooting boots on then OV will erupt in noise.... Personally I want us to score all of our goals off a Max Mikkola thunderbastard throw in :) It would be so representative of our whole season. You dont want penalties mate. Lopez has kept 15(?) clean sheets this year, just won FV keeper of the year and is a tremendous shot stopper, plus ALL the crowd behind the goals will be giving Italiano the "ring in" some serious grief :)
