+xHasn't retired. Gone to Preston Thanks I didnt know that... Good get for Preston, Marcus has a good couple of season left in him and hopefully will help them end their NPL journey by getting promotion to NPL1 (and then not needing it just to cause FA VIC scheduling headaches) Do you have any info on where Lirim, Pat and Ben Djiba went?

+xNZ NPL equivalent? Why are they playing their GF so late in the year? Dont know much about either club mate but thanks anyway? It's the equivalent of the old NPL Finals series featuring the top teams from the 3 major regional leagues (4 from Northern, 3 from Central + Phoenix Reserves, 2 from South Island), except it's a round-robin rather than a knockout, so very late season end Wellington has a very strong Greek community and legend has it that all the Greek-owned fish and chip shops in Wellington pay a levy to support Olympic. I totally support a Trans-Tasman Greek Challenge.

We have the Hellenic cup over here in Victoria which is rumoured to now be looking to include clubs from all over Australia not just VIC. Would be absolutey awesome if we extended the invite to NZ clubs.....

Early start to the season next year :) Get around the OG Melbourne Derby --- could either be a taste of what the NST will look like or (if Knights arent in by then) the last time we play the old foes at home for a while.... Either way 2 months to go till the football starts again.......

TBF it was more my perception that he was retiring.. South statement just said Marcus was leaving the club.... my bad. I think Mickey P was coaching there a while ago, Not sure what the relationship is like these days but down in NPL 3 its IS a step down....

Let the games begin!!!!!!!! First NST matchup of the new era AND I will be in Sydney with the fam the same time....... too good farken......... In anticipation of the inaugural 2025 National Second Division Competition, South Melbourne will take on our interstate rivals and friends, @SydneyOlympicFC, on the 13th of January 2024. @greek_herald will sponsor this historically significant match, with both teams playing for the inaugural The Greek Herald Cup. The name of the cup was dedicated to the ongoing support that The Greek Herald has provided to the club over the years. The game will represent a new chapter in the history of these two great Australian clubs ahead of what will be a big 18 months for the sport. We encourage all fans to get out and enjoy the match, with tickets available at the gate. https://twitter.com/smfc/status/1732567658166685737?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet

Jubilee a good surface to play on and 20k capacity. Be interesting how large a crowd this will get, will be damn HOT temps not just on the ground, should have made it a 7pm koff, the players will lack alot of match fitness but the contest will be ON for bragging rights. SO have a pretty experienced blended squad that should have done alot better they have struggled last couple of seasons be interesting how they match up against the Vic Greek/Aussie Champs. I'm likely away on hols But if not I'll turn up in my Azzuri shirt the real Blue haha :) I know many of my and sons greek fraternity won't miss it as well. Noted in my diary just in case.
Love Football

On no, another legend of the game leaves us too soon. Although I am far to young to have ever seen Kosta Nestoridis play, the older fans rave on about our AEK and Greek national team legend and what a leader he was on and off the field. Condolences to his family, RIP Kosta. https://twitter.com/smfc/status/1734510243986690076?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet
