Some very interesting talk about. The more sane posts are coming through about how Ange is a solid candidate. Some of the British managers being suggested make me laugh as it's the same horrible football. Mark Hughes and Martin O'Neill just really are part of the manager recycling system now. Ange would be a chance worth taking.

Regardless of what happens if he goes, his previous achievements are locked in. I just want to see it. I'd anticipate a decent kind of start, a small peak and he'd really be in the good books. A dip and a jump back and just hopefully a second season with decent recruiting and European games to really branch out. If he doesn't go we'll never know.

I'd honestly love if he did that, however with such a large overhaul at the club and we're talking everything from fitness coaches to recruitment and sports science it would be a miracle if he was to win trophies in his first season. It's also hard to see us how we won't get embarrassed in Europe when our backline currently consists of Greg Taylor, Stephen Welsh, Jack Hendry and Anthony Ralston holy fuck we are screwed. A big name like Howe would at least get a large section of supporters back on board as it would show intent that we were looking at the best available managers expensive or not, he'd also attract decent former players that have already played under him. Ange is always going to be looked at as the 'cheap' option, while he might be a fantastic coach the lack of experience in Europe is massively concerning, let alone in Scotland where he will be in the limelight under constant scrutiny even just going to the shops or going for a walk.

 I think he would enjoy the challenge of it all but not sure how he will feel when he's 3 months in and players are already having their heads turned by agents after a few bad results, having to do press confrences almost every day while the media twist his words, the taunting from the other side on the streets, the weather pissing it down almost all year, dealing with a tight board that will do him no favours, and the supporters/squad possibly turning against him. Just can't see how shits not going to hit the fan when it's almost an impossible job to turn this mess around within the space of 1-2 months, all power to him if he can turn it around but I don't see things changing until proper money is invested.

Anges issue is as you say with the defenders,  but he does CFG to call on for recruiting but he won't just take what they throw at him,  it'll be on his terms.  I herd a podcast saying that expect him to be a "CFG Yes Man" they are sadly mistaken.
The other issue is that some Celtic fans have already judged him,  he will never win them over,  but he can win over the rest,  if he can bypass that bumpy stage he almost always has at the start of him tenures.

Now it appears that Ange is in the same boat as Muscat was, he doesn't have the required badges.

That's not a bad thing though as Ange would get to rebuild the team he wants. It would be worse if he had takeover someone elses team that had just won the league IMO.

if he went to some top half club with ambition, whoever the hell that is in Scotland, in his second season he'd be challenging Celtic and Rangers and could well win it.

It's been reported that he had a specific badge for when he was in Greece,  which may or may not have been updated since and its being reported to manage in the SPFL he needs to have UEFA pro which is 4 levels higher than what he previously had,  if he still has it. 

It may be that the bloke that would be his assistant will be the one who holds the UEFA pro but it doesn't look good.

 he could teach the theoretical part of  course, and 240 hours  of practical on the pitch experience? seriously a guy who has coached at the World Cup needs more practical experience?

Does this mean you need a higher license to coach/ manage in the SPFL to the FIFA World cup? or is this just a made up problem? 

Yep but AFC and FFA badges arent recognised by UEFA, was also stated that if he had already started his UEFA pro licence before taking the job then UEFA/Scottish FA would approve him to manage,  they did the same thing for Gerrard at Rangers, it took Gerrard 18 months to complete but he already had UEFA A, B and C which all need to be completed before the pro.

All this info is being reported in scottish media, with their info being correct as of January 2020. While they were looking into if courses ran during the pandemic.
However i do find it crazy that Celtic wouldn't have known this (though people say they are a shambles) or at least considering this is somewhat a CFG move that they wouldnt be all over this already.

Only recently he returned from yet ANOTHER injury from Feb. but started/played 81 minutes vs Midtjylland last week and was AGF’s best player with FotMob 7.1 player rating. So his career aint over YET.
