Part of me feels it's got to happen within a few years if at all. He did say he'll be abroad with his family until he retires. The kids go to an undoubtedly top international school but I'm sure a transition to a good Scottish school would ensure they get through alright. Despite the wonders of Japan, a change to Scotland where the English is spoken (apparently) would probably be good for the family save the weather.
The story has picked up massively in the last hour and it's hilarious how the Celtic fans are asking who the hell he is. When compared to Eddie Howe it's understandable but Ange's CV is more than sound. Steve Clarke a strong favourite post Euro as he's Scottish coach.

word is Fergal Harkin is pushing Ange as part of signing him as FD. Man...CFG are good at what they do. Would not be surprised if they let Ange pick some loanees from the youth squads at city. Alex Robertson? Could Ange really do it?

+xThe forum to go into a full blown meltdown if this goes through The Celtic forum is already in meltdown over the possibility of this "nobody" taking the job. Even if he is a raging success some have said they will consider it a failure as it will mean the board will consider cheap no-name options from now on.

Looking forward to all the people constantly saying what a joke Scotland is saying how incredible this is.
Btw, it would be thoroughly awesome if he got the gig. One of the world’s biggest Clubs.

If given patience from Celtic board he could do wonderful things for them. Im not so sure how he would fare in continental competition but he would play teams off the park in Scotland.
He’s an exceptional manager with clubs when he can work with the players day to day.

+xWould he be given the time needed by both the board and fans? Exactly. Some of the most impatient and savage fans of any club in world football. But still wish Ange luck if that’s the tough challenge he wants

I got a chuckle:
"You be better off with Skippy at this * rate and put a red baseball cap on it and glasses and it would look like klopp . Everybody must be having a good laugh at us right now and next season is * and it's only the end of may ."

This would be massive for Ange's career, this would top it off if gets the gig.
No doubt it would benefit Australian football massively if he does well especially for the coaches trying to get into Europe, we have seen how tough its been for Australian coaches trying to make it so this could be a potential circuit breaker here.

I see a lot of Ange fans worry this might be a bad idea (hostile fans who want instant success, hyper media pressure and glare, the disrespect to his managerial record) but I think this is perfect for Ange because he loves situations where he is told it’s impossible, he thrives on this and the Celtic job seems impossible. I don’t see much downside for him either. If he bombs, I can’t see it affecting his current profile much. But if he succeeds, the sky is the limit.... Ange doesn’t back away from these situations.
Of course the one major concern is how long it takes him to get the squad playing Ange ball and whether he’d be fired before his style bore fruit. But it’s now or never and he knows this.

+xThey give me the shits the Celtic fans. Where did Arsenal get Wenger from you clowns. 25/26 years ago, without the success in France prior Arsenal would've never went for him- so bit of a difference. We're going through our banter years right now and the board is gambling with 30m worth of Champions League money once again, if they think bringing in Ange and giving him 10-15m to spend is going to get us into the Champions League then their deluded. The truth is the board are happy to settle with 2nd (or 3rd/4th) best option so long as operation costs are cut, hence why the support are up in arms about how the club is being run.

You hire Ange to win trophies in style and dominate your opposition. Just because he is Australian doesn't mean he isn't a fantastic coach.

John Kennedy will likely be the first team coach.
