+xNat Phillips @ 26yrs would be a viable CB to buy from us :) Did you see he got loaned to Celtic yesterday? Deadline day feels pretty active this time.

22M from Fulham to Everton for Iwobi. Daylight robbery. Way overpriced for his lack of bite.

Talk about Hojbjerg going to Atletico on loan with an obligation to buy which would clear the way for Gallagher to come in

Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou remained tight-lipped on potential transfers before their trip to Burnley but did pay tribute to Hugo Lloris ahead of his anticipated departure on Friday. When asked about the 36-year-old, Postecoglou said: "I have only been here a couple of months but Hugo has been excellent throughout the whole process."There is no doubt he has had an outstanding career and contribution to this football club. He has been the captain for quite a long time and been very professional, obviously working with (Rob) Burchy and the other goalkeepers."He has been helping the others, Vic (Guglielmo Vicario) being the new goalkeeper, so I have nothing negative to say about him and I wouldn't."There has been nothing other than him being very, very professional about everything."

Ta - heard the report didn’t see confirmation. Tottenham are targeting at least three deadline day signings as they attempt to progress deals for Brennan Johnson, Conor Gallagher and Lloyd Kelly, sources have told ESPN's James Olley. Talks over Nottingham Forest winger Johnson are furthest advanced with the two clubs nearing an agreement in the region of £45m-£50m, including bonuses. Chelsea rejected a £40m bid from West Ham for midfielder Gallagher in July, and sources have told ESPN that his transfer is now valued in the region of £50m now.

I think I saw Kelly has been rejected. Still lots to occur in what is a fairly exciting deadline day.

Spurs fans saying the Carabao Cup fail is STRIKE ONE.
Yep, EPL fans are completely delusional.

Early goal for Burnley but 4:1 Spurs now. I'm not watching but this reads very nicely.

Rumour Galatasaray are chasing Sanchez and Lo Celso. Can't see Tottenham selling a CB now given their depth. If they'd gotten Chalobah from Chelsea maybe.

After him it is only Philips and then Dorrington. Dier is completely on the outer and I don't think is going to be registered as part of the squad. Lo Celso probably can leave although he is backup to Maddison.

I personally can't stand how Iwobi is valued so much as a player. Frustrating to watch.

Ange must be very pleased....

Not entirely yet as he said it’s a work in progress and a good response putting the Fulham loss to bed. Results went their way with a couple of big hitters losing, Poch with all the dough they have spent compared to spuds would have bitter sweet for some supporters.

Big test is Arsenal and then the Reds at the end of the month.... get 2-3 points out of these and stay at the pointy end and I think the spuds will have a good season. How good was the Anfield game last night mate, Jurgens got them humming again :)

Interesting manager match up.
Both Kompany and Postecoglou have the City Football Group connections and talk about playing football "the right way" and the similarity in the way the managers want to play showed during the game.
Burnley had much the better of the first 15 minutes..playing Angeball better then Ange's players were. They pressed the Spurs 3 midfielders and gave them no space and time on the ball. The "playing out from the back" by Spurs keeper and defender became a comedy act. This would not have gone unnoticed by the other EPL managers. Burnley deservedly took the lead with a typical Angeball cut back goal.
The game swung when Son accepted a long ball over the top, played it to Soloman for a return pass and finished exquisitely to chip the keeper and defender. A snapshot from a loose ball at the edge of the box by Spurs defender thundered in of the post. Maddison given way to much space to pick his spot. Son again to make it 4 and his hat trick came after a brilliant goal with 15 passes that Wenger's Arsenal would happily claim.
Bigger tests are yet to come but with a possible front 3 of Soloman, Son, and Johnson, Postecoglou's eleven is taking shape.

Burnley always a hard nut to crack but let’s not forget they are a promoted side. The fapping over angeball is curious talking pressing playing from the back etc Klopp has been doing that for yonks infact his whole LFC tenure. I don’t find the kind of play new but I suppose for spudz after their dismal last season and some. yes MSC a solid performance against the villians - I think we have 2 of the buys this season re our 2 new mids and the choice of front 3 is plenty and proven.

I think its more that there was low expectations from an Australian than anything revolutionary mate.... Dont forget how hard it is for a clubs supporters to have nothing but garbage for 3-4 seasons in a row.... Anything slightly positive and the enthusiasm comes in spades.... Anges biggest test is going to be when they have 2-3 crap games in a row.... if he can weather that then he will have a great career in England. Agreed, if he losses Maddison to injury he is fooked.
