REMINDER: Biden gift wrapped and handed Ukraine to Putin because he is so weak and feckless.

Please explain what Trump could have done differently?

Deterrence. Putin waited for America to elect a weak, feckless Democrat government before deciding to invade.

REMINDER That's because there was dirt to be found on The Big Guy.

REMINDER: Trump told EU to start paying their NATO dues.

REMINDER before that: Obama told the world the US won't be the world's policeman.

EU should pay for their defence. Agreed.

Correct and Trump doubled down on this with numerous policy pronouncements deliberately withdrawing America even further from the world stage.

You can't have it both ways.

Stronger rhetoric
Implied nuclear threats
Not broadcasting to the world that you wont put troops and resources in Ukraine
Harsher sanctions
Station troops and weapons in Ukraine
Nuclear tests in the Pacific
Withdraw from Nato negotiations with Ukraine
Drop bombs on Moscow
Assasinate Putin
Do nothing - being Republican is probably enough, as opposed to your typical peahearted paper tiger Democrat who is more concerned with changing gender norms and defunding police.

At the end of the day none of this matters. Biden sat by and watched while Putin took Ukraine without conceding a scratch, and history will forever remember it this way. For you to claim that “nothing else could be done” is precisely the kind of weakness of heart and character that tyrants love to prey on.  Now that US has been outed as lacking strength and resolve watch China waltz in and take Taiwan under the implied threat of nuclear holocaust.

Implied nuclear threats - idiotic
Not broadcasting to the world that you wont put troops and resources in Ukraine - Trump already said they weren't getting involved in 'dumb wars' anymore

Station troops and weapons in Ukraine - Biden has been sending weapons there and has sent troops to Poland. Trump blocked weapons sales remember?
Nuclear tests in the Pacific - Hasn't been nuclear tests in decades
Withdraw from Nato negotiations with Ukraine - possible but an undermining of a country's sovereign right to self determination
Drop bombs on Moscow - even more idiotic
Assasinate Putin - uh huh. Sure.

The Europeans believed with Trump was gone, things would be back to normal and the US would pay for their security.  Jokes on them.

Yes the joke is on them. Meanwhile a sovereign country is being invaded by a megalomaniac intent on restoring the CCCP. Which country is next I wonder.

How or why the right is defending Russia or pretending they 'understand' Putin's actions is absolutely baffling. In any other time in history this would be seen for what it is. An unjustified invasion of a democratically elected and governed country.

This is not as bad as the bastardry of when the Soviets moved into Hungary in 54 but it's up there.

And you know the weird thing. Blokes like you and Rusty can't even bring yourself to say this is bad. Like what the fuck is wrong with your politics when you can't denounce something like this. I suppose Trump set the bar when he said 'there's very fine people on both sides' so there is that.

Yep and to add to that when Trump was pulling America back from world affairs under 'America First' they were all defending him to the hilt and now because Biden hasn't launched nukes at Moscow it's a disaster.

FMD.

Will just add Trump going on Fox and big noting himself is laughable. This is a bloke who stood in front of Putin and the world's press and sided with what Putin told him over the intelligence briefings of all of his major espionage and federal agencies. It really is laughable.

Is Biden partly to blame? Probably but in no way would this not have happened under Trump.

I agree 100% Biden has not helped the situation, but if Trump was in, he wouldn't even bring in sanctions.

In lots of ways it's because of trump and these weak populist leaders that has given these despots the confidence to do what they want because they've sewn so much discord in the west

Mate, all those options are infinitely better than shrugging your shoulders and saying “oh well, what else could we have done”.  Taking a giant shit on the Russian flag is a better option than “oh well. what else could we have done”. Do you mean to tell me the USA, the greatest military world has even seen, is completely impotent to counter an economy the size of Texas from launching a hostile European invasion? Fuck off mate.😂

Of course they're capable. They could turn Moscow into a fucking wasteland if they wanted to. Would they do it is another matter.

Remember the Balkans conflict or Rwanda? Even when genocides were happening the US never put a single soldier in harms way. Sure they lobbed a few missiles at Serbia but that was about the extent of it.

Just to be clear. Are you saying the US, the country of the 'America First' policy you defended when Trump was in charge, should be firing missiles at the Russians.

Is that what you're saying? You want the US to go to war with Russia. Because the minute the US launch a missile strike, it's on.

It wouldnt happen under Trump because Trump would use strong rhetoric and implied if not actual miltiary force to make Russia back down. Under Trump there’s a real risk or nuclear and/or military conflict whereas under Biden and Kamala there’s just weakness, sloppy sanctions and empty threats. There’s no way Trump would allow Putin to just waltz in and watch them take Ukraine, hence why Putin waited for a weak, pathetic SJW Democrat to become President before making his move.

This is big time effect - feed them misinformation on various topics through Brietbart, RT and meme factories, give sympathy to Putin's actions or talking points

Belarus needs severe sanctions too. They complicit. The dictator was kept there despite the will of the people - because of Putin. Putin help quash the protests and kill citizens after the election.

He did this because he knew he wanted to have troops in belarus to invade other countries.

The only way Trump could possibly have frightened Putin is by being unhinged enough to launch nukes at Russia. I mean he did want to nuke hurricanes over the Gulf of Mexico so it is possible I suppose.

US invading Afghanistan = dumb war. Russia invading Ukraine = dumb Democrats.

Part of having a military and nuclear arsenal is being prepared to use it as a means of deterrence. Do you think Putin might think twice about invading Ukraine if he thought the US *might* use their military to push back, which could quickly and easily escalate into nuclear confrontation? Fuck no, he isn't suicidal, but given the US President explicitly stated that he wouldn't put forces in Ukraine, it was basically a green light for Putin to invade without incurring much downside. The consequences of this? A stronger more dangerous Russia, and maniacal dictator with the wind in his sails to do whatever the fuck he wants, Xi will be rubbing his hands with glee knowing US will do diddly squat when China takes Taiwan, and ultimately this all leads to an even greater specter of nuclear conflict.

This is all Biden's fault. What a cxnt.

I didn't think Trump was  a great president, but Biden is honestly making him look good. I saw something the other day that if they re-held the elections today Trump would romp it with about 60% of the vote. Biden has got to be the worst President in the history of the USA , and he's only been in office for a year!

Biden’s tweet from 2020

Vladimir Putin doesn’t want me to be President. He doesn’t want me to be our nominee. If you’re wondering why — it’s because I’m the only person in this field who’s ever gone toe-to-toe with him.
