+xBenzema has pulled up with pain in training today and had to end early. Reports fear he could miss the entire tournament now. This is more an escalation than exaggeration by many reports. In our camp, Boyle and Hrustic are training individually. If they can forgo the first game ok but if they're listed past replacement deadline and don't feature at all it's two spots wasted. We're actually a bit thin in CM. Reports are postive about Souttar. Striker Jamie Maclaren is optimistic of having the duo available. “I saw Boyley running yesterday just through the window of my room and Ajden as well,” Maclaren said. ”From my eyes they looked good but I think the medical staff will make a call whenever they can. “But they are two huge players for us and exciting players and players that have played a big part in the last four years. And from where I stand now, I think they’ll be okay.”

I mean I hope he's not just saying that. I'm pretty optimistic they'll be OK for Tunisia. We can use others for the France game. Two days out I wouldn't expect either to start.

A back 3? With Mbappe, Benzema, Giroud, Griezmann and Dembele running at you? I'm thinking a back 7 is more likely.

+xBenzema is out of our game! No Boyle and Hrustic is literally our two best players absent. Imo, mitigating any of France's absentees. I have no idea where any possible goal could come from.

Benzema out of the World Cup and another 4 starting players won’t be available to play v Aussie. If we don’t take this opportunity to get points out this game, against a French team weakened by injuries to main players, there is little hope of making it pass the group stage.

France still has more than enough quality to beat Australia comfortably. Girroud and Mbappe alone are more than capable of scoring a hat-trick each against us. A point from this game would be like a gift from heaven, but even a loss wouldn't be a disaster. Our chances of advancing hinge on beating Tunisia and getting something out of Denmark. Anything from France would be a hugely unexpected bonus.

Honestly for every position on the pitch you could have at least ten French players before you’d get close to choosing one of ours.

And it’s not shit. It’s truth. Doesn’t mean we can’t win.

France have had a lot of mixed results against less favoured teams Austria draw and Denmark loss. Us knowing Qatar can certainly play a role, feels a bit like a home away from home. However, they have the capacity to utterly destroy us look at the 5-1 South Africa result. Injuries to key players will have an impact, I think they’ll miss Kante and Pogba most these guys drive the team. As for what will happen, who knows so many variables but we are definitely severe underdogs with a win paying $10 and a draw 5.80. I mostly hope we do the nation proud and be competitive.

Reports circling more that we're going with a back 3. While a decent idea, we've only played it once under Arnold. Was it maybe the Jordan game in Kuwait?

Looks like 5 in the midfield then in an attempt to stifle them in the middle of the park. Think we should go for it Austria looked garbage when they sat deep on France, as soon as they started to press they created real chances ended up losing but put France on the back foot.

I’m fine with going for it and having a crack, but you can do that without changing formations to something you’ve played once in about 30 games under this coach. Shades of 2010 against Germany all over again.

Martin Boyle will not participate in this year’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ tournament after he succumbed to a knee injury.
As a result, Melbourne City FC winger Marco Tilio will come into the squad.

Well now we know Boyle is out
Ryan Deng Souttar Rowles Leckie Behich Devlin Mooy McGree Cummings Goodwin
While I think having Mabil run at them for 60min would be good, if we can stay in it, it's another bench option. This formation also allows for easy shifting to a back 4 with McGree coming as the 10. I'm also toying with a box midfield of Devlin Baccus Mooy and Irvine. We're actually thin on CM I think.

Still though, the pundits calling for Leckie to easily slot in. Haven't we suffered enough? I'm so done with this at times. The number of snippets against UAE and Peru where he could've done better by doing differently is astounding. Please for the love of god deliver for a change.

Very sorry for Boyle who has been one of our more potent attacking players during the qualification process. However gives Tilio a chance to show his wares though he may not be a starting player initially.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_GomesThe referee has been confirmed. In 2018, he was hailed by the South African Football Association after he rejected and reported an attempted bribe of over R300 000. Gomes had been approached and offered the sum of money to fix a CAF Confederation Cup match between Nigerian side Plateau United and Algerian side USM Alger. [2] He was again nominated for the PSL Referee of the Season award upon the conclusion of the domestic campaign

I kind of remember this same shit being spruiked last WC. It is close to literally true, though. You're likely would find at least half a dozen French players for every position playing in better teams in better leagues than out player in that position. We're a second to third tier side. Our strongest team is average second tier.

Boyle is cursed for both the Acup and now WCUP 🙁 might mean Kuol getting more minutes 🤞 Leckie in midfield or wing back only please
