Of all the people you'd want to support your bid for funding, not sure James Hird would be on the top of your list.

Why not ?

He would know how to inject more growth, stimulate better outcomes and enhance the local game.

Seriously this is crazy stuff. What did they expect was going to be required when they put the venue forward? It was always going to need significant upgrades, and to then say that it would cost too much and not be ready in time is a very bad cop out. 

The FA are useless and will just sit back and let this slide like they always do instead of publicly shaming these muppers because we all are woke now and can't call someone a useless c--t publicly 

You have to wonder what the girls are using for toilets if the club has to spend 120k to upgrade them to be more female friendly,
No wonder they’re so disappointed the upgrade isn’t happening.

Perhaps someone should ask if thd council is spending money on AFL grounds.

Local councils are politicians on steroids. So bordering on the post useless people on earth (behind real estate agents). 

I think one of his boys plays/ed at Port.... The more "voices" the better mate... Disgusting move from the council, hope they ride the Mayor out on a rail.

All three of his kids play(ed) soccer at various levels. I'm pretty sure all for Port. Hird has also worked as some sort of consultant/broker involved with the buying/selling of football clubs in Europe. He's also involved with Concave who make football boots. There was a great interview with him on the old Santo, Sam and Ed podcast a few years back. Definitely worth a listen. The guy definitely loves the round ball game.
