Milos at RB again?
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

It'll be at the same stadium as the playoff. Fond memories. Back 3 was employed well at the end. I think we need some refreshing rotation now. We need the legs.

Crazy we've not seen Devlin despite being so coveted by Arnie. We're going to need fitness. Goodwin and even Leckie are so tired. Degenek was a great example of sound and solid rotation.

Any chance of drafting in Charlie Yankos for this one? Tilio likes scoring against La Albiceleste as well I suppose.
This game is going to divide my family very much. As you can tell by my profile name, I'm of Argentinian heritage.

The only 1% chance I give us is due to the fact the Argies can sometimes get caught up in the drama and fight of a game and forget about the football.
Maybe not often and that game may have been wasted on the Saudis but they do have the ability to get aggro and if we can get in their faces and get them whinging to the ref and upset and they start lashing out we have a small tiny half chance.
I'm sure some of you think we should try to pass them off the park but yeah...

A shorter turnaround than the other games, there will be a few who surely won't be able to back up for it.

Mixed feelings here- would be happy to see Leo finish his WC legacy with a tournament win, giving him the same accolades as Maradona on this stage and earning him bragging rights over CR7 (even if his fanboys would become insufferable). Winning this round of 16 for us would be incredible and instantly surpass anything else we have achieved as a national football side- but a shame for it to come directly at the expense of that kind of footnote to Messi's career.

Pretty much sympathise with this...... Just enjoying being at this stage for now..... Not so much as a competition against Saudi Ronnie but more so that we have been privileged to witness a player like Messi so much more than we did Maradonna (especially here in Australia with streaming and broadcasting etc) Equally though how much would it raise our profile as a nation if the Socceroos were the ones to break Leo's heart?

I wanted the Argies to win to be honest. I guess when we beat them I can hope for Holland as someone new. Can't stand France or Brazil and would love the Messi Ronaldo debate well and truly settled coz I can't stand that overgroomed weirdo.

The past three games he has had to prepare for a 90min game. This game has the potential to go to 120 mins which has to have some impact on his selections. No way some of those guys could see out 120mins. Just comes down to whether we need them at the front 60 or the back 60. It's a tough one.

History doesn't repeat, but it sure does rhyme. And on a personal level, it would rhyme with LFC's miracle 4-0 at Anfield in 2019 to send Leo (and Barca) packing. That was his last real chance to win another European Cup with his beloved Barca and do so without Pep and after a dream 1st leg at Camp Nou it all turned to a nightmare for him. Ultimately, it was LFC who killed off that dream for Leo. Now it could be us who kill it off for him when it comes to winning a major trophy with his other beloved team.

+xArg are the one team i wouldnt be heart broken to lose to since part of me wants to see messi win a world cup Agreed. I think I've settled on just how big of an achievement this is. There's absolutely no reason that we can't win this game (and yes, I know its the Olympics, but we beat Argentina under Arnie with quite a few players from our Olyroos squad in this squad - Granted that's not the same for Argentina). However, I think provided we don't we don't get spanked, or robbed, I'm glad we've got to this stage. It's a great building block, and hopefully we can kick on better than we did after 2006. Based off age (so very possible to be proven wrong), the only players I can see possibly (even slightly) not getting to the next World Cup are Mooy, Leckie, Behich, Redmayne, Vuka and Goodwin.

was outstanding has to be, would be creating a historic moment if we took away Messi's last chance at a WC. We beat them a year ago, only one from that olympic team is Mac Allister though. I hope they start Martinez at the back as Souttar and Duke will have a field day.

Pens. Redmayne saves Messi as the 5th. It's written. FFS could you imagine? I think we'll keep 'imagining' that. Let's win in regular time.
