This should help MCG https://www.footballvictoria.com.au/news/nplm-2023-season-media-guideNPL.TV is your friend ... and its free... :) Better yet get down to your local club this weekend ... Oakleigh from memory right? They play Gully tonight... Bring cash though, just like street prostitutes, they dont have EFTPOS :)

+xI've got the npl app. Good to see a big crowd at Albert park last night Don't know how you guys can watch football in the Summer .... 7.30 kickoff and it was still stifling hot, would have been maybe 400-500 more I reckon if it was a better night.

Good starts for both South Melbourne and Adelaide City over the past couple of days. Hopefully all the teams eyeing for the second division this season give it their best this year and can get good results (especially for the Australia Cup).

Interesting round of npl coming up. Just off the top of my head youve got the south Melbourne v Melbourne knights derby and the APIA v Marconi “Italian derby”. As this stage weather is looking pretty alright for both fixtures, so hopefully a decent crowd in for both. Unfortunately for APIA they’ve just lost their main striker to macarthur
btw APIA v marconi was initially scheduled for a Sunday 1.30 kick off, thankfully that’s now been pushed back to a more reasonable time of 4.30. And I notice south v knights is on a Monday night. You’d think that they’d want to schedule these sorts of fixtures at prime time in order to attract as big a crowd as possible..Bizzare. This is something we really have to improve on in this sport. Oh well, hopefully this is the last season that these games will be state league fixtures and on to bigger and better things, back where they belong next year

South Adelaide gave Adelaide City a "football lesson" at O'Sullivans Beach on Monday night with a 3-1 win.

Hopefully from next season on it won’t be as easy for a league clubs to just take their pick of our players. Was very surprised Marconi held on to costanzo this season, I’d heard he’d been on the radar of a few a league clubs.
I happened to be sitting within ear shot of Francis awaritefe at last years Italian derby at lambert park, and he seemed adamant about wanting the second div to be professional partially for this reason. And partially in order for these clubs to give priority for the ambitious younger players who were willing to cut their teeth at these clubs, as opposed to older players just wanting a nice subsidy to their income. (For those who don’t know awaritefe is/was involved with the PFA these days)
Re your reference to the “little” place, I wonder what’s going on behind the scenes re the proposed new grand stand at lambert park. whether it’s a genuine proposal or a pipe dream. I think we can all agree tony raciti tends to speak more from the heart than the head when it comes to all things APIA
May the best team win this Sunday. Hopefully a good crowd and a good atmosphere. Will be in attendance with my father for the first time in a long time. Always enjoyable watching matches at APIA, you’re so close to the pitch, it almost feels like you’re on the field with them. Love getting down there for matches when I can as I don’t live too far from the ground

Bit of an "experiment" forced by the Grand Prix set up I think..... Cant see a huge crowd sadly, maybe 2k tops.....

I always wish APIA well, they’re a good club, I’ve never really gotten a sense of any genuine bad blood between the two clubs, more of friendly competition. Dont mind me a steak roll at Lambert park on a sunny afternoon. Although I must say, the food options at Marconi are superior haha. Not only the steak roll, but the Italian sausage, not to mention the plethora of dining options at teh social club. The bloke in the canteen at APIAs gotta go down to la Monica supermarket in Haberfield and get stock up on some “salseech”

Some lovely goals last round in Vic fellas, worth a look that Melbourne Knights free kick was a tasy little strike .... they put it up to Oakleigh so hoping for a great battle with them this week. If they beat us at Lakeside for the first time in ages, they will go absolutely bananas..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gHrIbLo1oQOh and if anyone wants to watch EXTREME NPL VIC, get on NPL.TV and watch the last 10 mins or so of the Dandy Derby .... holy shitballs....

yer Romero showed hot form too early the bugga, not suprised being poached by the BS club mind you, wonder what APIA got $ ? Costanzo maybe didn't take an offer if one came at all ? Don't mind FA, funnily he has played for yours and MSC Clubs. Yer the little place, got to say thats what makes it so unique at the sametime holds it back, good ol TR, agreed but without his passion through the many struggling times it wouldn't have survivied I guess, getting syn was a great addition, the new stand plans in the making the last 15yrs lol.....meant to be approved goss goes but wtf not hahaha Yes it really needs it bigtime, especially now re the NST. As you say being so close is a buzz, I'm sure it will be a healthy crowd, already mentioned it to the fam tonight, as long as the women doesn't suddenly say something is on we're there, she now knows our plans I'm sure we'll be there, yes all the best but you know, FORZA APIA and legend Franco !

Chippies are good at Lambert as well but agree it could be so much better, food is ok but when up the road you can get some great everything I'm willing to pay ffs. Yours is way ahead due to the Club.

By no means a classic today at the “Italian derby” in Sydney. 0-0, probably doesn’t help that Marconi were without captain and key attacking player Marko jesic, and APIA just lost their top goal scorer Jason Romero to Macarthur
Very enjoyable occasion none the less, always good to see the healthy crowd and full grandstand with people of all ages, fans from both clubs etc. also always good to indulge in a steak roll.
one positive of south v knights not being played in the weekend is that it Atleast means there will be something to watch on a Monday night

NPL.TV or 3ZZZ for those keen to follow on... Should be a fiery one tonight... Both clubs buoyant after NST announcements and Knights want to kickoff their 70year celebrations with a win against the eternal enemy ..... All bets are off in the derby.

Neither midfield dominated long enough and alot of the distribution was rubbish. Too much long ball by both, cheeez that RB of yours looked ordinary through the 2nd, sorry. Ivan pulled off a couple of good saves, how that one v one was missed by your bloke I was happy :) Glenardo I actually thoight your blokes couldn't string more than 3 pass's many times. The 1 player that stood out for me but not getting enough service was Stewart, he's big and mobile, good on the ball, most penetrating player on the day. We split the points, ce la vie but was a very nice arvo in the stands as mentioned, still too warm to play imo and those syns pump out more heat when on the pitch. OK MSC, will look in on the derby tonight but damn, I should be backing the Knights but I'll stay on the fence for you haha good luck may it be a good game, nice time to play.

Its going to be a weird match tonight... both sides have trouble shuffling through the midfield for different reasons (for Hellas its because the coach told the boys the centre circle is made of lava hehe) .. I think its going to an old fashioned slug fest tonight....

Personally not a fan at all of the style we’re playing under Peter tsekenis. Very much the footballing vision of a tough centre half like he was. game just turns into a scrap. Marconi is a club that’s traditionally been known for trying to play good football. Everything is about physicality and strength under him and relying on a couple of players with a bit of flair to do pull something out of their ass. Costanzo also had a bit of an off game. I wonder what happened to jesic, he wasn’t suspended was he?

agreed mate, playing too physical and pulling back so much, focus isn't about moving the ball around enough barring the few passages that did create hence why I said it was very scrappy. Constanzo looked out of sorts, I couldn't see much flow amongst yours much but to go in hard and late alot, our fellas did similar for as you know you end up doing tit for tat. I haven't seen anything of suspension re Jesic.

This is his squad, he has plenty of resources at his disposal, he’s had time. I know we won the waratah cup a few years back, but I don’t see us winning the league. will be interesting to see how much of the squads at these clubs who earn spots in the NSD are maintained. you’d think there’ll be wholesale changes and a fair bit of strengthening/consolidating of the best npl players into a few clubs
