+x+xagreed mate, playing too physical and pulling back so much, focus isn't about moving the ball around enough barring the few passages that did create hence why I said it was very scrappy. Constanzo looked out of sorts, I couldn't see much flow amongst yours much but to go in hard and late alot, our fellas did similar for as you know you end up doing tit for tat. I haven't seen anything of suspension re Jesic. Ill have to check the replay out on this one fellas after I get home from the derby tonight :) Oh and after watching the Liverpool replay again :P. hahahahahahahaahh
I wouldn’t go in with too high an expectation, neither side gave a very good account of themselves.
Will probably give south v knights a watch tonight, hopefully a decent match
saw dandy city v Preston in npl2 on Friday night, that was a good bit of entertainment, so impressive how loyal the Preston fan base is, even languishing in the lower leagues for years, they’d still have to be one the best supported clubs outside the a league

Yeah Preston have their act together and have had a bit of a meteoric rise through the pyramid these last 3-4 years. Demographics help their crowd numbers more than many other old NSL clubs. Their Friday nights matches at home is full of "old boys" getting together for a feed, a beer and some soccer... Its working for them.

Been great having the NPL back. Been to first three games in NPL2 for Northcote and taken kids from our local junior club. Standard has been good (although mixed results), food as always great and so far nobody been hit over the head with a flare bucket :)

Without divulging too much, a relative of mine played for the club during their glory days in the 80s, and they’re constantly trying to tempt him down to the club

Looking forward to seeing Preston again, last time I watched (before the old days) was when they played Westgate in State League 2 (was maybe a friendly too)

Most garbage derby for a while... rubbish crowd (only about 2-2.5k max) some questionable calls from refs, a fairly so so penalty (imo) and a complete capitulation by my boys in the middle of the park... OK so we wanna play counter attacking football, but for God's sake the time and space the Knights lads had in the middle of the park was just soooooo frustrating... Anyway, take the 3 points and move on. If we do this against stronger sides this year we are cooked.

Been impressed by Ajak Riak so far, wouldn't be surprised if South lost their target man second season running.

Last year we scored maybe 10-15 goals this way...... Its frustrating as all hell for other teams to deal with and has become a bit of a meme for us too. lol

But agree, I was a little sceptical about him at first but the lad has a tremendous work rate and physicality... Scored a brace the previous round and the goals will come for him this year......

Thought I’d try to keep this thread ticking over Solid win for Marconi in the weekend at home v Blacktown, always a tough match, sitting in 4th. Sydney United on top in nsw as we speak, APIA and Rockdale not too far behind. Sydney Olympic falling behind after a surprising 3 loses in a row for the reigning premiers. Don’t want to be doing that with the first past the post format. South Melbourne looking strong in Victoria as per usual, on top with another win. Heidelberg and bentleigh surprisingly languishing down the bottom early doors, not ideal when you’re trying to i apply for the second div. Good to see Preston on top of the npl 2 having just come up

bravo Glenardo, Yes got to say glad both our clubs won after last weeks draw. I'm actually impressed SU have recovered well compared to their finish last season in the league excl the Cup result. SO gone in a whole with all the profile players they have Mmmmm Lets get MSC to bite, the VNPL is a one team league hahaha How about we incl the QNPL even though just 2 games into it. Moreton Bay and mighty BC on top. Followed by CGU and Redlands. GCK in 7th and MSC's mates OlympicFC 11th.

Hahahahahahah I WISH it was... lol Oakleigh and Avondale are the clubs to watch this year... despite a small hiccup by both they will be 1-2 for most of the season... Bentleigh and the Bergers are the major surprise this year.... cant believe the start they have had.... Bergers particularly played an hour of football with 11 v 10 players and still lost 0-5 at home!!!!!!!! We came home with a wet sail despite an early lead (tasty team goal btw) and the last 15-20 minutes against 10 men was garbage by our lads but we held our nerve and came away with the 3 points when I feel we maybe shouldn't have.... Bergers at home next, based on last week we "should" turn them over convincingly... Anything less than 3-0 is a failure at this stage.... https://twitter.com/smfc/status/1634543579543793664?cxt=HHwWgMDTybauiK8tAAAA

Preston are gunning to top NPL2, get promoted to NPL1 and then skip that and play NST in 2024... Effectively jumping from 4th division to 1st division in 2 seasons..... We will NEVER hear the end of it from their fans. lol
